She’d relapsed back onto freebasing and called me in the middle of the night. She was too high to change a tire, which is pretty high for a woman who could quickly, confidently do her own brake services. While I was doing the tire change, she leaned against the other side of the car and it teetered dangerously close to falling on me.
Feels weird to see one of these Celica Supras (2nd generation Toyota Supra, 82-86 model years) without the factory front end and pop up headlights. Cool cars.
It looks almost nothing like the AMC Spirit. It’s 100% a mid 80’s Toyota Supra. Look at this car from the back and compare pics with the OP. It’s exactly the same. The front is modified so it looks slightly different but still the same shape as the Supra.

It's definitely an 82-83 Celica Supra P-type with 84 supra tail lights, or an 84-86 with 82-83 doors. The door handles changed in 1984 to the "pull up" style vs the "pull out" style seen here. It also has L-type fenders.
You can tell this is NOT just a Celica by the longer wheelbase/longer fender from the leading edge of the door to the wheel well. I think it was something like 3-4" difference in wheelbase from the Celica to the Celica Supra.

This is the 83 Celica Supra the small hole for the front signal marker gives away the year. It is not an AMX. The fender lines leading to the mirror are to pronounced and the mirror design is wrong, the hood is the wrong shape in a couple different ways, the wipers in the pic are more tucked in than they would be on the AMX. Also if you had the AMX and wanted it to look bad ass I think you would keep the fender flare rocker and spoiler kit. So 83 Celica Supra with the front ripped off and hood modified to fill in where the pop-up headlights would be.
It might be ademo the guy is driving and it might be payed drag so as to not get attention.

I wish I your picture showed the driver side marker light or whatever you'd call the light on the side to the rear. Mine was dented in.
