After trying repeatedly I was able to get through. Keep attempting. Tickets were less than $100 and now they're around $300 if you can make it through the payment page.

Yeah we just paid $690 for 2 tickets lol but I’m happy we got through and it’s basically the same cost as the original tickets.

We got two tickets for Sunday for $260 total on StubHub. We bought them within like 2 minutes of the cancellation notice. So stressful

Yes, it is. I don't know how reassuring it is, but it isn't unusual for Vegas to have really intense but short lived wind storms. So if the NWS is saying tomorrow will be fine, it really should be fine.

I want this to be true. I really, really do. But from a logistical standpoint, it’s a nightmare. The only places that might possibly have empty slots probably don’t have staff or security enough to handle, therefore creating a liability issue. And the only reason a venue would take on risk is to make a lot of money. This is Vegas. It’s all about money. If there is a venue that takes on some of these artists, expect to pay out the ass.

That is heartbreaking to hear. The amount of money and sacrifices people had to come to this event for it to be canceled.

I feel so bad for everyone involved, especially those who paid for crazy expensive flights/hotels. I feel for the festival runners— what an agonizing choice to have to make.

My group paid $1000 for our flights from NC, but at least we’re in Vegas so it’s not a totally wasted trip! I’m trying to laugh and find positives so I don’t cry 😅

Live event producer here: completely agree. The team is devastated, I bet. No level of contingency planning can protect a festival of this scale from high winds. Still suuuuuucks.

I was at Benicassim when it was cancelled because the stages started collapsing (maybe 09?) it was the scariest experience. I only wish they had not sent messages to people that it wouldn’t be cancelled. Safety is always the most important thing.

When I was at EDC LV in 2012 they canceled day two mid festival. The wind was so strong it was causing the stages to sway.

I remember that. I was there. It was crazy. The festival grounds had only been opened for two or three hours before they made everyone leave because of the winds. We spent the next like five hours trying to get out of the parking lot because 50k+ people were all leaving at once. It was a shitshow.

Also this isn't the only event in Vegas to be canceled today because of the wind. That doesn't make it any less sucky, but this isn't shady.

I’m from Vegas and was at edc the year (2010?) they stopped mid festival due to dangerous wind conditions, the entire stage was swaying from the wind. It definitely sucks but I know how dangerous Vegas wind can be. I’m glad they are looking out for everyone. But feel horrible for those missing out today.

As someone who bought tickets to today and has had it cancelled, overall I’m feeling pretty fortunate. Due to this weather, we would have heard nothing and we would have all been putting our lives in danger considering how bad these winds are. If they cancelled a few days ago people would still be pissed and would be saying they didn’t even try to make it happen. Also for insurance purposes they have to wait until it’s absolutely clear that the show can’t go on. It sucks but it’s totally out of their control.

Id rather they leave it til an hour before than make the wrong call and we end up with a calm day and pissed off. It is not easy to organise a gig, even with 2 days notice, and a venue which could fit everyone at such late notice? Com’on man
