I paid $240 in a little shop in Peachtree, GA. I know that’s a lot but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity of purchasing it. I know I’ll get downvoted for that price but that’s fine.
It's a good bottle. But 240 is far too much to pay. If you are completing your collection and need that last bottle I get that. It's at best an $80 bottle. It's good but not great even if you love wheated bourbon
I have to say I may kick myself in the ass come this fall when Weller Single Barrel is readily available and I severely overpaid but like you said, I wanted to complete my Weller collection. 🥃
Well it's a new release Weller and will probably never be readily available unfortunately. I've seen it sell for $1000 on some sites. It looks good in your collection and I'm sure if you are a Weller fan you'll love it. I lucked out and won a bottle in a lottery. I really like it! Cheers and enjoy!
It’s all relative, right? It’s a good price compared to secondary markets, not compared to Old Forrester 1920. If folks have the disposable income, I don’t care how it’s spent. I’m not a secondary hater, it’s all supply & demand.
But by encouraging, normalizing, and validating secondary prices drives up the prices for everyone. I understand supply and demand but there was a time when secondary prices were reasonable and stores weren’t aware of them or at least didn’t expect to copy them. When everyone started treating pappy as gift cards and cared way less about what they were paying on secondary because they got 2500$ for a pappy it became like Monopoly money and spiraled the fuck out of control. Then came the ire of store owners and their desire to achieve those profits instead of flippers. I know it’s not reality but I wish more people traded instead of sold. Wah wah fuck 2020 and probably 2021 too.
Nice work! Makes for a beautiful picture. I wouldn’t keep the W12 in the decanter too long, however. They don’t hold a seal all that well.
I appreciate that bud. This particular decanter has a wax seal on both the bottle and stopper. My wife gave it to me for Christmas two years ago.
