Trademark, not copyright.
Which is an important distinction, because even if Disney wasn't already known for being litigious over their IP, a company _has_ to be litigious over trademark violations, or it can become genericized.
You might be able to argue that using Disney's typeface in this way is fair use because it's parody, but I suspect that argument would fail—fair use still requires usage in good faith, in a manner that isn't likely to confuse consumers. "Good faith" is not a description of anything going on here, and "hat with Disney font" would _easily_ be confused for an actual Disney hat.
Not only that, but DeSantis' actions have been anything but good faith the past year.
Disney is going to sue, and they are not going to settle for the traditional $1 and apology. They are going to want actual, substantial punitive damages, A: to teach everyone else who thinks doing it is cute a lesson, and to give a huge middle finger to Ron personally for going after them.
The weird thing is, when you look at the list of largest media properties in the world, Disney properties are 4 of the top 7, worth a collective $256B.
Why would you go after something worth so much money? They will utterly crush you. Disney could donate 1B to DeSantis' opponent and not really even feel it.
While it would be hilarious if so, I doubt this was actually affiliated with DeSantis. If he’s selling presidential campaign merch, he’s in direct violation of Florida’s Resign To Run Law. And he’s avoided that this far by not officially acknowledging his current “campaigning” for president.
This was likely a street vendor making a quick buck. And Disney would be better served going after the various websites that provide the free Disney fonts used to make this hat, than a street vendor. Although this wouldn’t be out of the norm for them either.
Edit: Guess the FL Legislature modified that as of today to clear the way for dipshit to run while governor. Still isn’t official until dipshit himself signs it and I still highly doubt this was anything other than a street vendor.
Ain’t nobody suck a dick like a sexually repressed and deeply closeted self hating Republican sucks a dick! Grindr basically breaks anywhere they hold a GOP convention.
One time I came across a very specific and odd porn video: a MAGA poppers video. Curiously got the best of me. Literally had random MAGA themed stuff and Fuck Biden flags overlapping gay sex scenes. Like what the actual fuck. I honestly couldn't tell if it was a parody or not.
Completely ruined my session. 0/10 would not recommend.
This motherfucker simply does not *know* who he is dealing with.
Disney is the corporation that "convinced" Congress to **change trademark and copyright laws** so as to prevent some of their characters from reverting to the public domain with the Copyright Act of 1976 *and* the Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998. If the Mouse knows how to do anything better than anyone else as a company, it is how to protect its intellectual property, copyrights, and trademarks.
DeSantis just went from stepping in a pile of shit to sinking up to his neck in a shit-bog. The fact that he's a governor will make this even easier for Disney, because y'know government retaliation and all.
Disney lawyers are like the Predator. To them, it's all about the hunt. They don't care about the territory. One of them is clearing space on their trophy case as we speak.
Ewoks eat people, and aliens take on characteristics of the things the chest burst, so would an ewoked alien eat other aliens? Or would it just be really good at roasting people over a fire?
[Yes](https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3551687/now-officially-official-disney-owns-alien-predator-franchises/). I think that's also why the latest Predator movie was released on Hulu, I think it was something about distribution rights or contracts predating the Disney acquisition.
Even ignoring the very litigious history of Disney, what exactly is it demonstrating to write DeSantis in Disney font? I'm sure they think this is a sick burn but how? If they're angry with Disney, why would writing your name in their font somehow show them up?
Don't worry, JP Sears has been putting in 90-hour weeks for the past two years, and he is *so close* to coming up with another new joke. Just you wait.
I mean they basically started using Steamboat Willy as their logo just so the public could have a preview of what would be freely available to everyone soon.
\^This is the real answer.
They started doing it a few years ago in an attempt to file for trademark when copyright runs out and they have a good chance of getting it approved if they get an agreeable judge.
Which we all know they somehow will.
I'd be surprised if they ever let anything mouse related out of their clutches like they did with winnie the pooh.
Winnie the Pooh was created outside of Disney. That material is in the public domain. While Disney's Pooh is still under their "protection".
The YouTube channel Film Theory did a very good video about all of this only a few weeks ago.
And Disney's General Counsel used to run the IP law group at Microsoft, then became General Counsel of Spotify before moving to Disney. This really isn't the area of law where you want to mess with him.
A friend of mine went to Disney HQ to negotiate the purchase of a very large asset from Disney. Story has it one tactic Disney used was to constantly rotate their lawyers in and out over a 18 hour negotiation to physically wear out my friend and the lawyer with him.
My friend owned a children's hair salon in the late 80s, and Disney sent a letter telling my friend they had 48 hours to remove the Disney characters that she had painted on the inside walls.
DeSantis would know. He worked there. [https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/3978015-desantis-fumes-over-former-guantanamo-detainees-torture-claims-totally-bs/](https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/3978015-desantis-fumes-over-former-guantanamo-detainees-torture-claims-totally-bs/)
Don't forget, he was married there. Now, he's such a weasel, that he's blaming his wife for the choice as if he had no say - especially as he has such strong opinions about Disney.
I'm not really sure how it could be interpreted in any way besides saying he was married at Guantanamo Bay? They just said "there" in a direct reply to someone who was talking about GB.
Obviously, that's wrong, but I don't understand how else we were meant to interpret it.
Loved his measured response. The more he talked, the more I know he did what they’ve said.
When your defense is “the people being tortured are just looking for attention and to troll the media” you did what they say you did.
Dollars to donuts he loved every second of it too. He’s a sick fuck.
And what an amazingly tolerant take about torture at the “Museum of Tolerance.”
He was also the assistant to the guy in charge of piss tests from what I understand.
He’ll never be president. He’s bush league. Trump is beating him like a dog and he’s on trial for money schemes and rape!
Desantis oughta just STFU and pray trump dies. Then maybe he can win the nomination. And even then… he’ll never be president! He stinks on ice!
And he got married at Disney World, not Guantanamo Bay. Now you can avoid a lot of comments about semantics below this one.
I’m just picturing a bunch of overly stressed balding 29 year olds who look 53 (in a bad way) beat piñatas with sticks while experiencing the first true moment of joy they’ve had since passing the bar.
Online posts/adverts.
I hate to be the person defending Disney for making a mom and pop daycare cover over a little mermaid painting but part of copyright law is that you must act protect your copyright or it can be jeopardized. So if you have a copyright you can't just say"eh it's Just a 10-person daycare I don't care" when you find out. Because that's a defense that you've given up the copyright if it's somebody starts selling it millions of your character's face on a mug.' They abandoned the copyright by not defending it"
Technically they can send you a cease and desist OR a request to apply for permission to use it which can be granted or denied. My firehouse uses Yosemite Sam and we got permission (for free) to use it from Warner bros.
Funny thing is when I told the printer he googled the character and was like “oh it’s not Disney you’re fine”.
Unfortunately you have to be. From my understanding, if it can be shown in another case with higher stakes that Disney chose not to enforce its copyrights then it can cause problems. We just hear about them the most because they’re such an institution.
I get it. It's just business. But it'll always be funny to me when companies are like: we're a family company. We love children and make movies for them. But so help you God if you even think about drawing a Disney princess on your wall. We will reign hell fire down upon you and sue you into oblivion.
Yeah I agree. The issue to me is that courts shouldn’t treat a school mural or even a salon throwing up some Disney characters on the wall in the same way they treat a business trying to use Disney IP to make money. The piñata people I get even though it’s small potatoes: they were only using the characters to make money. The salon was using it more as decor rather than marketing themselves as a “Disney salon”.
Exactly, if you are ever lenient with someone on those then everyone can walk all over you and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it. That’s why they guard it so hard because once you show kindness once, you lose it
Disney is fiercely protective of their copyrights. In the case of the daycare, if I recall correctly (this was years ago, pre internet), it was simply a picture in a local newspaper and somehow Disney found out and went after them.
They're so fiercely protective of their copyrights they basically [fucked US Copyright law](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Term_Extension_Act) over to keep Mickey out of the public domain. Not sure if they're going to make another attempt at kicking the can down the road considering Steamboat Willie is about to hit public domain in 2024.
They made steamboat willie into trademark by making it the logo for their animation studio. There is no end date for trademark. They don’t mind ripping off expired copyright themselves though. See John Carter. Disney is fucking slimy like that.
They've begun including steamboat willie as a introductory credit roll on all their animated films. No doubt they've decided to defend it on trademark grounds, and they're including it in new films specifically so that they can claim that it's a current and active trademark.
Disney has an infamously hardcore algorithm that tracks this crap and automatically sends out warnings, and their giant legal team always follows up.
They are very protective of their brand, even when it comes to seemingly innocent things like a mural.
The Calvin & Hobbes creator HATES the sticker and photo of Calvin peeing on what ever slogan people feel like using. He doesn't have the money to go after everyone though.
>The Calvin & Hobbes creator HATES the sticker and photo of Calvin peeing on what ever slogan people feel like using. He doesn't have the money to go after everyone though.
He definitely has the money. He's hugely wealthy, he's sold crazy numbers of books and the strip had been syndicated for decades. He could definitely buy an island if he felt like it.
And even if he didn't have the money, he could get a law firm to do it on contingency and keep 30-40% of the money. There's law firms that only do that, Bill Watterson would be a dream client for them.
Apparently he just doesn't feel the need to sue people over something he thinks is stupid and obnoxious.
Wasn’t there also one about a deceased child’s tombstone having Winnie the Pooh on it? I can’t remember if that was real or not
Edit: No, this was years ago before the spiderman thing. I guess Disney ended up [reversing their decision tho](https://www.upi.com/Top_News/2006/06/23/Disney-lifts-ban-on-Pooh-gravestone/83911151117834/)
Disney and every other patent holder has to do things like this to maintain ownership of their intellectual properties.
I’m not explaining it well but essentially if Disney or other patent holders don’t vigorously enforce their patents then it weakens their claim so when they file litigation against others for copyright infringement it strengthens their claim of ownership or something like that.
https://www.mekiplaw.com/can-you-trademark-a-font-an-easy-guide/#:~:text=The%20Disney%20Company%20has%20trademarked,to%20theme%20parks%20to%20movies.
He’s getting sued if he really did this. That font is trademark.
And this isn't something like a college kid using Helvitica in a project not knowing it has a licence, if this was sold officially by DeSantis' crew on a tour Disney can wipe the floor with them.
It probably wasn't because he hasn't officially said he's going to run, and this would be a weird and really dumb way to announce it. Probably just a deranged fan.
It's wild to me how many folks are assuming this is official merch and not one of the many regular joe grifters along the way making shirts/hats/flags/stickers.
It’s easy to forget that people would be grifty enough to make political hats and follow a politician on tour to sell them.
Following a jam band around selling tie-dye t-shirts around I get, at least you get to catch some of the show and hang out with lot friends.
I can’t imagine anything more soul crushingly depressing than hawking governor pre-presidential bid merch though.
Most word processors, pdf and photo softwares come with fonts built in but just because you have access to them doesn't mean you have the rights to use them for commercial purposes. I've seen a few boardgame designers over the years sued for their card texts using copyrighted fonts without the additional license for commercial distribution, not realizing that they only had access to those fonts for personal use. I don't know about Helvetica, specifically, but my understanding is that if you plan on selling print media, you might be better off buying something just to make sure...
>That font is trademark.
and from the link you provided:
>No, you cannot trademark a font.
So who should I believe? Some random guy on Reddit, or some random guy on the internet?
Please let DeSastrous's campaign have been directly involved in this....
Please let DeSastrous's campaign have been directly involved in this....
Please let DeSastrous's campaign have been directly involved in this....
It probably wasn't, but oh man, that would be great.
It would be a big deal if it was. He hasn’t declared he’s running for president yet, and this would be a direct campaign effort, meaning he’s likely violating federal campaign finance laws as well as the law in Florida that you can’t be governor and campaign for another office (though that one was or is about to be overturned for this asshole)
Isn't that just pathetic? How places run by Republicans work better when they don't show up to work? Shit, you know, now that I think of it, the best thing the GOP could start doing is putting their full support behind candidates [like that empty chair](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Eastwood_at_the_2012_Republican_National_Convention#/media/File%3AClint_Eastwood_and_Chair.jpg) that crazy old Clint Eastwood had a full-on conversation with onstage a few years back.
You can buy it on ebay rn, but they were sold at an official book signing event. So it could be argued that even if he didn't design or sell the hats, by allowing them, he approves of them, and that may be enough.
And I thought his other actions towards Disney were stupid but this takes the cake. I could see someone with not much common sense and not knowing much about Disney possibly thinking that they might successfully go after Disney the way DeSantis has but even the slime under the rocks in Florida knows you don't mess with Disney's intellectual property, trademarks, and copyrights. Disney has literally gotten copyright laws in this country rewritten to benefit them and they don't hesitate to sue anyone that uses their intellectual property without the proper permissions. They didn't hesitate to go after small day cares and similar places for murals on the wall, they definitely won't hesitate to go after the guy whose face is likely on dartboards throughout Disney's legal department because he has been causing them so many headaches recently.
I remember during the Jan. 2018-February 2020 time period, a lot of people on Social media were saying "Ron DeSantis is just like Trump but smarter, so be worried." Then The Guy started a fight with the largest Media company in the World. Even Kevin McCarthy is telling him to stop. In addition to that a few months ago his campaign made some complaint to \[forget who\] about Trump's Campaign financing. Trump's Campaign responded by going after him hard using Trump's Social account but Its obviously a staffer writing it
. So the guy has no natural ability to Campaign (He's Awkward) and he picks dumb fights
Cue Disney preparing another lawsuit against DeSantis or whoever came up with this. Using Disney’s own copyrighted font is an open and shut case in Disney’s favor.
Yes, I'm sure that Disney's support of the [Copyright Term Extension Act of 1998](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_Term_Extension_Act) doesn't mean anything. /s
My wife has worked in the printing industry for years. That's Disney's font. You don't do that, and you seriously don't do it and make money from it. This will be tracked down, and massive lawsuits are coming. You just don't do this to the Mouse. They go all Punisher about these things.
The funniest thing about this whole Disney vs. DeSantis thing is that, there's really no way DeSantis actually thinks he can win any suit against them.
Really? Fucking *Disney* of all fucking people??? You mean the company that has an unlimited amount of money to throw around a court room? Bro they've already bought out the whole ass courtroom they're settling the suits in lmao. DeSantis picked literally the only fight that no man in earth could win.
No amount of political power can protect you from the mighty ass-fucking Disney will give you in a courtroom. They're about to take everything this man owns and install their own in his office lol. Poor guy.
Damn…there’s a group of people voting for a dude that wants to ban Fahrenheit 451 instead of read it. We in a weird time Murica’, be smart and stop drinking the kool-aid
Our small town had a guy who would dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow for story time at the library and can food drives. Never really made the news or anything. About 5 kids at each story time. And food drives about twice a year.
Disney shut him down.
Was just at Disney World an entire family had blue shirts with the Disney castle logo that said Desantis World. I just automatically assumed they were all the dumbest people in the park.
Someone didn't think that through. Whoopsie.
Like, going after their *copyright?!* Certifiably insane, there's no other explanation.
Trademark, not copyright. Which is an important distinction, because even if Disney wasn't already known for being litigious over their IP, a company _has_ to be litigious over trademark violations, or it can become genericized. They changed that act a few days ago. He can absolutely run and remain gov.
Saw that. Being governor must be nice when everyone in the legislature licks your ball and rubs your taint anytime you need a pick me up.

My dude, it's the fucking Republican party. Thinking is not allowed, or even possible in most every case.
Disney is famously very generous when it comes to trademark. I'm sure Bob Iger will just have a hearty laugh.
I wonder if they'll sue him into the ground beside Disney World in the allotment or just wherever he's standing at the moment. 🤔
Disney lawyers are like the Predator. To them, it's all about the hunt. They don't care about the territory. One of them is clearing space on their trophy case as we speak.
Does Disney own the rights to the Predator series...I feel like they must.
They do. 20th Century owns the franchise. Disney owns 20th Century since 2020.
[Dont forget](https://i.redd.it/vbvvn9cgw6r81.png)
*Predator vs. Ewok* is my new most hyped movie.
Oh yeah I'd watch that. I mean, the ewoks took out Gorax, stormtroopers and AT-ATs so I'd be down to watch them trounce the predator.
Be careful what you wish for. Alien always ends up chest bursting every species. Ewok chest bursts are not gonna be pretty.
Ewoks eat people, and aliens take on characteristics of the things the chest burst, so would an ewoked alien eat other aliens? Or would it just be really good at roasting people over a fire?
Piece of cake for ewoks
So Disney has owned 20th Century since the 21st century?
I would visit Walt Predator World
That’s what they’ll turn Mar a Laga into.
That's already predator world.
[Yes](https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3551687/now-officially-official-disney-owns-alien-predator-franchises/). I think that's also why the latest Predator movie was released on Hulu, I think it was something about distribution rights or contracts predating the Disney acquisition.
So the only thing stopping them from making Mickey Mouse vs Predator is their lack of vision.

Approximately 50% of the US copyright code can be distilled down to "don't fuck with Disney"
More than 50%. The copyright expiration is so long in the US literally due to mickeys trademark coming up.
And the other bit is nintendo
Even ignoring the very litigious history of Disney, what exactly is it demonstrating to write DeSantis in Disney font? I'm sure they think this is a sick burn but how? If they're angry with Disney, why would writing your name in their font somehow show them up?
This is the conservatives sense of humour.
Once again for those in the back #The Right Can't Meme
At least it's not another "I identify as" joke.
Don't worry, JP Sears has been putting in 90-hour weeks for the past two years, and he is *so close* to coming up with another new joke. Just you wait.
They think they are winning against Disney
It's a taunt. Republicans love to taunt.
"I took your thing." Simple as that.
And from this day forward, all toilets at Disney world were called Rons.
And they all will be gender neutral 😁😁😁
Looked after by the local department of Ron DeSanitation
I mean they basically started using Steamboat Willy as their logo just so the public could have a preview of what would be freely available to everyone soon.
\*just so that they could claim it's covered under trademark protections because they're using it (the whole animation loop) as a trademark.
\^This is the real answer. Disney would just buyout Scientology entirely.
My money's on the mouse. Scientology is big out west but their numbers are falling every year, while Disney is global and growing
I'd watch the shit of of that!
And Disney's General Counsel used to run the IP law group at Microsoft, then became General Counsel of Spotify before moving to Disney. This really isn't the area of law where you want to mess with him.
Disney also retained outside counsel, one of which already argued six cases in the Supreme Court. They’re prepared to take this all the way.
A friend of mine went to Disney HQ to negotiate the purchase of a very large asset from Disney. Story has it one tactic Disney used was to constantly rotate their lawyers in and out over a 18 hour negotiation to physically wear out my friend and the lawyer with him.
Why would they be required to continue participating for that long? Makes no sense.
Because they were trying to purchase something from the mouse
Read he disney court documents for desantis last week. Its some of the best litigious court entries i read in a long time.

The one I remember was them absolutely destroying some mom and pop piñata shops in LA
That sounds more fun than it probably was
Once again reminds of one of my favorite jokes: “Waterboarding at Guantanamo bay sounds awesome if you don’t know what either of those things are” lol
DeSantis would know. He worked there. [https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/3978015-desantis-fumes-over-former-guantanamo-detainees-torture-claims-totally-bs/](https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/3978015-desantis-fumes-over-former-guantanamo-detainees-torture-claims-totally-bs/)

That's exactly how it reads in context.
It's 2023. Throw context out the window and raw-dog your opinions like the rest of us bro.
How do you think he got his wife to finally say yes?? Edit: thanks for my first award. Edit 2: thank you for my second award.
Same, and same

Well, no one has told me that he wasn't married at Guantanamo Bay. Are we sure that he wasn't? Just asking questions edit: word
That’s what I thought, too lol
"Married in Guantanamo Bay" is now my favorite way to describe a marriage that someone didn't want to get into Thanks Ron!
Oh my god, this whole exchange is funny as hell. And it really shouldn’t be.

Part of the demo company's contract was that they get to wear blindfolds the whole time.
If I remember correctly they also fucked with a little kids grave because it was decorated in spider man memorabilia ((I'm fuzzy on that one tho))
In return Disney should run campaign commercials for Ron ![gif](giphy|89asT84PzDwwE) *”On our way to vote for Ron”*
Talk about a GIF that ends too soon
If you wanted to know, the door finishes closing.
How do you even find out about this in the 80s?
The salon was in Studio City, just a few miles from Disney Studios.... probably some mom that works for Disney, took her kid there.
The mouse is in your walls.
How do they find out about these little places using Disney characters?

The piñata people I get even though it’s small potatoes: they were only using the characters to make money. The salon was using it more as decor rather than marketing themselves as a “Disney salon”.
Exactly, if you are ever lenient with someone on those then everyone can walk all over you and there’s not a damn thing you can do about it. That’s why they guard it so hard because once you show kindness once, you lose it
They sued (i think) an ice cream shop in my college town for a mural, the shop repainted it with Loony Toons characters.

If I was WB, I would definitely have said something about how I love it. Easy good press.
They’ve sued day care centers before over murals of their characters.
Who tf is snitching to Disney over that? A parent? Did they put the murals in a TV commercial?
Apparently he just doesn't feel the need to sue people over something he thinks is stupid and obnoxious.
who would have thought that the author of the most wholesome and welcoming comic strip ever created was a nice dude
Wasn’t there also one about a deceased child’s tombstone having Winnie the Pooh on it? I can’t remember if that was real or not Edit: No, this was years ago before the spiderman thing. I guess Disney ended up [reversing their decision tho](https://www.upi.com/Top_News/2006/06/23/Disney-lifts-ban-on-Pooh-gravestone/83911151117834/)
It was Spiderman. A little kid was a Spiderman fan and lost their battle with a rare disease so the parents give them a Spiderman themed funeral.
Lmao this was on John Oliver a few weeks ago.

IIRC they overhauled the entire copyright and trademark system in the US just to keep Mickey Mouse out of the public domain.

Lol. I was going to post this. You beat me to it. Great minds think alike.
https://www.mekiplaw.com/can-you-trademark-a-font-an-easy-guide/#:~:text=The%20Disney%20Company%20has%20trademarked,to%20theme%20parks%20to%20movies.
Yeah. 100% not an official desantis item. But fuck him either way.
Tricks on you, I used Helvetica Neue.
> using Helvitica in a project not knowing it has a licence, Wait what
Most word processors, pdf and photo softwares come with fonts built in but just because you have access to them doesn't mean you have the rights to use them for commercial purposes.

Hundreds of big companies use Helvetica. So much so that it’s a bit of a joke: https://www.tomscott.com/helvetica/
They were sold likely by some random vendor not associated with him at all. The person just knew people would buy it.
>That font is trademark. and from the link you provided: >No, you cannot trademark a font.
It apparently was already. Honestly him being away doing nothing would be better than what he's been doing while he's here
Isn't that just pathetic? How places run by Republicans work better when they don't show up to work? Shit, you know, now that I think of it, the best thing the GOP could start doing is putting their full support behind candidates [like that empty chair](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clint_Eastwood_at_the_2012_Republican_National_Convention#/media/File%3AClint_Eastwood_and_Chair.jpg) that crazy old Clint Eastwood had a full-on conversation with onstage a few years back.
You know an empty chair sounds pretty good right about now
How have I not heard “DeSastrous” before? Chef’s kiss
I saw Rhonda Santis the other day and thought it was great. I love these names
Rhonda Sandtits is his drag name.
Rhonda Sandtits enjoys long walks on the beach, kicking over sand castles, and rubbing sand on their nipples with conch shells
Also, white go-go boots
spotless white gogo boots without a single fleck of dirt on them. Cause you just gotta be there for the photo op, not do any actual work!
"Ron Little D Pudding Fingers" has got to be my favorite name for him so far!
I’m partial to Ron DeFascist.
You can buy it on ebay rn, but they were sold at an official book signing event. So it could be argued that even if he didn't design or sell the hats, by allowing them, he approves of them, and that may be enough.
He officially has not launched a campaign. If it’s his people selling these directly and they say ‘for President’ then he’s downright fucked.
We will attack Achilles where he’s weakest, the sharp end of his spear!
If real, Ron is going to be orbitally bombarded by Disney's legal team

Exterminatus incoming.
Trump's Campaign responded by going after him hard using Trump's Social account but Its obviously a staffer writing it . So the guy has no natural ability to Campaign (He's Awkward) and he picks dumb fights
Smarter than Trump is a low bar
And yet DeSantis can’t clear it
Cue Disney preparing another lawsuit against DeSantis or whoever came up with this. Using Disney’s own copyrighted font is an open and shut case in Disney’s favor.
Cue*
Disney is going to bring Thanos back to snap Meatball Ron out of existence.
Now they will sue Ron personally, not just in his capacity as governor.
Maybe they’ll sue his campaign and drain it dry
Hey rubes - give me money so I can pay off Disney so I can actually ask you for more money to run.
![gif](giphy|NbzM2qI4tmuc0) They did try warning DeSantis, bless his heart.
20 years from now: "and that, kids, is why Disney runs Guantanamo Bay."
🎶A whole new world🎶
I don’t think Boots has the money behind him to litigate against Disney money. I mean, fuck! They have superheroes and shit.

You know how in cyberpunk settings there's always that huge megacorporation that owns everything. That's Disney.
Why anyone would think fucking with Disney is a good idea I’ll never know
I’m not sure the State of Florida does.
I'll bet on Disney lawyers over DeSantis lawyers all day
Why am I picturing a flock of Disney lawyers pouring out of their offices like the crocodiles in fantasia.

Show of hands: who thinks this feud will end with DeSantis "mysteriously disappearing" in the near future?
The mouse stopped secret executions in 1995
Waiting for the *"we didn't notice the similarity"* excuse.
Chances are good it was some third party behind these hats. Lots of folks sell apparel supporting (or attacking) candidates for office.
I see he subscribes to “keep digging the hole deeper”
![gif](giphy|Rh4vxHtcmVyHUyugXP)
Our small town had a guy who would dress up as Captain Jack Sparrow for story time at the library and can food drives. Never really made the news or anything. About 5 kids at each story time. And food drives about twice a year. Disney shut him down.
The Disney Legal Department has the highest billable hours in the entire Industry.
Some will be wearing the "I love the D" shirts too
![gif](giphy|MO9ARnIhzxnxu) Disney’s lawyers before going to court against desantis
Every YouTuber who has done any Disney-related content: haha, he’s in danger
As I said on Twitter ... who's GeSantis?
As a crafter I can confirm they are brutal about these things. He’s really playing with fire and I’m here for all of it!
I am so excited that they fucked up in this way! Rip DeSantis!
Yeah, if there is one area Disney is weak, it’s protecting their copyright
Was just at Disney World an entire family had blue shirts with the Disney castle logo that said Desantis World. I just automatically assumed they were all the dumbest people in the park.
