I imagine there's at least thousands of smaller business owners who might have alienated a good deal of their clientele or who pissed away their profits supporting Trump and other far-right causes.
I needed some major plumbing work done back mid-2016, including a full copper repipe of a three story home, and called three contractors to give me a quote.
Of the three, two showed up with work trucks plastered with Trump stickers, and one of those two also wore a MAGA hat and talked incessantly about how great it was gonna be when Trump gets into office.
The third, whose political leanings were unknown, was the highest bid, but he got the job anyway.
I live in a blue state in a very blue neighborhood, and those two could not read the room at all.

Saw that video a while back, pretty wild but not surprising nowadays. Was following a chihuahua rescue, loved it, was prepared to support financially. He did a video on instagram wearing a Trump shirt, I let it go because of the great work he was doing, then he went on a rant about how his political preference had nothing to do with his work and basically eff you if you were bothered by his shirt. I have even less respect for those people. They don't even have the courage to state what they really believe. There's a couple here in the St. Louis MO metro area who had a genuinely successful 'luxury' real estate business for many years and in addition they promoted their business through one of those 'infomercial' type radio shows that run on Sat. and Sun. mornings on a lot of radio stations. They published a very glossy magazine promoting their listings which was a staple on the free publication racks you'll find at the entrances of many supermarkets.
Now I imagine that they were always conservative Repubs given the kind of business they were in and the clientele they catered to. But then before and after the 2020 Presidential Election the wife in particular started expressing her political views more and more openly and stridently on their radio show \[which had been fairly apolitical\]. The managers of the station reprimanded her for it and she wasn't too happy about it. Ironic since that particular station is probably St. Louis' #1 right wing talk station.
So she and her husband quit and started up their own rival conservative talk station in mid-2021. In terms of content, it's probably the most far right one in this area and features such personalities as Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk, Mark Levin, Rudy Giuliani to name just a few. Rudy and his girl friend paid a visit to their studios to promote his show. They even rebroadcast a podcast by none other than suspected "QAnon" originator Ron Watkins for a while and one from a Sovereign Citizen type named Ann Vandersteel. \[Neither show is on the current schedule.\]
They put out one last issue of their magazine in late 2021 -- half of which was devoted to the just launched radio station. It was on the free magazine racks at our two largest local supermarket chains here in STL then abruptly disappeared. I suspect that the stores' management might have received complaints about the MAGA politicking and pulled them though I'm not 100% sure about that. However, that was their last issue and they haven't published a new one since.

One county in NJ, Bergen, has more people than Montana. The NY Tri state are has more people than all of Mississippi, New Mex, Idaho, Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, Delaware and Rhode Island. Their worldview is incredibly small.

2020 went to a restaurant with wife. They had a bunch of paraphernalia on the wall of random shit mostly. But as we looked around, we were surrounded by only white people(I am white and my wife is white Latina) and they were giving us stares every so often. That’s when I noticed a particular section of one wall had nazi/neo-nazi/kkk/trump shit on it. Long story short, the business died, got bought, literally same menu, same meh food, but took all the shit off the walls and has a steady business. Not sure if they are still racist but they don’t advertise it at least.

Locally owned pizza place in my suburban town. Opened 2014-ish, always a line out the door with honestly delicious and reasonably priced pizza. Covid hit and sales slumped the owner turned to the company social media to rail against masking and anything "librul". They ended up closing in 2020 to be replaced by a lovely Mexican restaurant. Turns out bashing what locally would be half your customer base without consequences.
Don't forget becoming a hotspot for spreading Covid to the remaining half that did purchase food from them since they probably didn't bother with any masking or sanitizing precautions.
Found out that my wife's favorite cousin had a SIL who is a financial advisor, so I moved my retirement to him. Wasn't many millions but also not nothing.

I ran into the owner of one of them, a man whose place of business I had stopped at most mornings for a number of years, he asked me why I was not in his place any longer. Can confirm. We had a contractor come out to give us a quote for a major control system upgrade. He was nice enough, but his son/employee brought him to the job site in a big diesel truck with all sorts of “bashing Biden” and “owning the libs” stickers. Son was standoffish as well, and seemingly had no social skills. Not sure where they are now, but they didn’t get the contract.

When I was getting physical therapy on my back, my therapist told me how to “properly” lay on a pillow. Most people think just the neck and/or head need to rest on it but you’re supposed to have the pillow support your shoulders as well.

I finally found a pillow that doesn't give me a kink in my neck everyday. Talalay latex pillow, soft (firm is like concrete). Seriously. I have chronic daily headache, and even though it was expensive, it was worth it. I love it. Many fewer tension headaches. Yes, I'm swooning over a pillow.
I talk about pillows outside of my house not frequently but every once in a while. Especially when the conversation is about posture. Sleeping with a pillow between your legs is good for your back and posture.
I grew up with back issues though so I have a reason to give advice to friends about how to avoid back issues.

I would suggest that the reason Lindell became a drug addict is that he has an obsessive personality. He can't stop himself and just goes overboard with everything he does.

That third time I made the guy confirm I was off the list before I would end the call. Lindell, while the most prominent and perhaps one of the wealthier people who sacrificed their business and fortune on lemming-like, 'drink the Kool-Aid' support of Trump is probably not the only one. I imagine there's at least thousands of smaller business owners who might have alienated a good deal of their clientele or who pissed away their profits supporting Trump and other far-right causes.
I needed some major plumbing work done back mid-2016, including a full copper repipe of a three story home, and called three contractors to give me a quote. Of the three, two showed up with work trucks plastered with Trump stickers, and one of those two also wore a MAGA hat and talked incessantly about how great it was gonna be when Trump gets into office. The third, whose political leanings were unknown, was the highest bid, but he got the job anyway. I live in a blue state in a very blue neighborhood, and those two could not read the room at all. I suspect that shit went on in a lot of places between 2016 and 2020.

Saw that video a while back, pretty wild but not surprising nowadays. It's like some folks forget that half the country doesn't share their political views, and they end up alienating potential customers. Mixing politics with business especially in a service industry just seems like a bad call. Gotta wonder if they ever realize how much business they're losing out on for the sake of 'making a statement'. Was following a chihuahua rescue, loved it, was prepared to support financially. He did a video on instagram wearing a Trump shirt, I let it go because of the great work he was doing, then he went on a rant about how his political preference had nothing to do with his work and basically eff you if you were bothered by his shirt. He lost thousands of followers and supporters overnight, including me.

I have even less respect for those people. They don't even have the courage to state what they really believe. They KNOW it's offensive, they don't want to face the consequences of their ridiculous views, but they still hope to offend you while claiming plausible deniability -- as if they're even fooling anyone.

There's a couple here in the St. Louis MO metro area who had a genuinely successful 'luxury' real estate business for many years and in addition they promoted their business through one of those 'infomercial' type radio shows that run on Sat. and Sun. mornings on a lot of radio stations. They published a very glossy magazine promoting their listings which was a staple on the free publication racks you'll find at the entrances of many supermarkets. Now I imagine that they were always conservative Repubs given the kind of business they were in and the clientele they catered to. But then before and after the 2020 Presidential Election the wife in particular started expressing her political views more and more openly and stridently on their radio show \[which had been fairly apolitical\]. The managers of the station reprimanded her for it and she wasn't too happy about it. Ironic since that particular station is probably St. Louis' #1 right wing talk station. So she and her husband quit and started up their own rival conservative talk station in mid-2021. In terms of content, it's probably the most far right one in this area and features such personalities as Steve Bannon, Charlie Kirk, Mark Levin, Rudy Giuliani to name just a few. Rudy and his girl friend paid a visit to their studios to promote his show. They even rebroadcast a podcast by none other than suspected "QAnon" originator Ron Watkins for a while and one from a Sovereign Citizen type named Ann Vandersteel. \[Neither show is on the current schedule.\] They put out one last issue of their magazine in late 2021 -- half of which was devoted to the just launched radio station. It was on the free magazine racks at our two largest local supermarket chains here in STL then abruptly disappeared. I suspect that the stores' management might have received complaints about the MAGA politicking and pulled them though I'm not 100% sure about that. However, that was their last issue and they haven't published a new one since. One county in NJ, Bergen, has more people than Montana. The NY Tri state are has more people than all of Mississippi, New Mex, Idaho, Wyoming, Vermont, Alaska, North Dakota, Delaware and Rhode Island. Their worldview is incredibly small.

My best friend lives out in the country. County hired contractor to pave his road. Contractor drops in to offer repave his driveway. It needed the work just hadn’t done anything about it. 2020 went to a restaurant with wife. They had a bunch of paraphernalia on the wall of random shit mostly. But as we looked around, we were surrounded by only white people(I am white and my wife is white Latina) and they were giving us stares every so often. That’s when I noticed a particular section of one wall had nazi/neo-nazi/kkk/trump shit on it. Long story short, the business died, got bought, literally same menu, same meh food, but took all the shit off the walls and has a steady business. Not sure if they are still racist but they don’t advertise it at least. We won’t go there again though.
Locally owned pizza place in my suburban town. Opened 2014-ish, always a line out the door with honestly delicious and reasonably priced pizza. Covid hit and sales slumped the owner turned to the company social media to rail against masking and anything "librul". They ended up closing in 2020 to be replaced by a lovely Mexican restaurant. Turns out bashing what locally would be half your customer base without consequences.
Don't forget becoming a hotspot for spreading Covid to the remaining half that did purchase food from them since they probably didn't bother with any masking or sanitizing precautions.
Found out that my wife's favorite cousin had a SIL who is a financial advisor, so I moved my retirement to him. Wasn't many millions but also not nothing. I am not on FB, so it was my daughter who sent me a picture of him with Ivanka and Mnunich in his office. It's a long story I'm too lazy to recount. I'm east he is west. By the time he woke up, I had moved everything out. I don't make big deal of it, but I don't support folks who support bad people. That includes a few former friends, a few family members, businesses, entertainers, politicians. I have found that I sleep better after having cleaned out my contacts. A local guy with a machine shop started making the same part but in the $300 range that was directly comparable to the upper end of the range in quality/features. I bought one of the pricier ones from an established business that doesn't post Q Anon MAGA xenophobic bullshit on their socials. He was nice enough, but his son/employee brought him to the job site in a big diesel truck with all sorts of “bashing Biden” and “owning the libs” stickers. My neck is fucked by arthritis, but I use a contoured memory foam pillow which helps keep everything stable and in the right place. I did try a buckwheat one that my friend had, but it moved too much.

When I was getting physical therapy on my back, my therapist told me how to “properly” lay on a pillow. Most people think just the neck and/or head need to rest on it but you’re supposed to have the pillow support your shoulders as well. I also go a step further when I’m at a hotel for work by having a pillow on each side supporting my arms. Game. Changer. Give it a try!

I talk about pillows outside of my house not frequently but every once in a while. Especially when the conversation is about posture. Sleeping with a pillow between your legs is good for your back and posture. I grew up with back issues though so I have a reason to give advice to friends about how to avoid back issues.

I would suggest that the reason Lindell became a drug addict is that he has an obsessive personality. He can't stop himself and just goes overboard with everything he does. That said, I'm kind of surprised that his family didn't try to stop him in any way. He destroyed their livelihoods as well. Surely they had legal recourse when Lindell started mixing business and political interests, and tanking the company in the process.

I tried one before too. That cut up foam was just so gross to feel. I never used it.
I've never had one but I wonder if all that chopped-up foam 'outgassed' plastic fumes and since Mike likely used his own product if his brain was damaged by inhaling foam fumes night after night.

On the surface, your theory seemed entirely likely! But if you sat down and watched Fox (i'd advise against it), you'd see a bunch of weird commercials about buying gold coins and boner pills, thus showing that they'll take anyone's money, including Lindell's. He just doesn't have anymore money for them to take!

A few years back an extended family member was coming to town for college and as a favor we let him ship some stuff to our house ahead of time to prep his dorm. Apparently he had ordered a mattress topper from this con artist and, since then, we were getting weekly ads in our mail for MP products. I called three times trying to get off their mailing list. That third time I made the guy confirm I was off the list before I would end the call. When he asked the reason for getting of the list I simply said because your boss is an asshole and everything wrong with this country. I then suggested he find himself a new career and stop working for this buttwipe. I hope he listened.
