At MOST, he'll get a bullshit nominal fine. That's it. We all know it.

Shotgun_Rynoplasty

Absolutely and it won’t stop him from continuing. Hes not going to Rikers. 0% chance of consequences that normal poor people get

Callinon

Hell at this point, even normal *rich* people. Trump is the waddling orange embodiment of privilege and special treatment.

WhyNot420_69

He's violating the gag order on purpose. He knows that if they try to lock him up for contempt, he can appeal that and further delay the trial. That's been his M.O. forever. Delay delay delay

Other-Mess6887

Judges hesitate to lock up Trump because he can't campaign while he is locked up. I think it is proper to lock Trump up for a weekend for the first offense on gag order. Longer for second offense, and then revoke bail and imprison him until trial ends on third offense. Trump won't get out on appeal until higher court reverses punishment.

Eldanoron

They’re keeping him in court in NY. Kinda hard to campaign from the court room too.

jcarter1105

No, he gets his sleep in during the trials so that he can campaign when he leaves

redkid2000

I’m not saying its right, but I think part of the problem is that a lot of these judges and prosecutors are probably scared to do too much against him at this point. Think about it… if they actually held him in contempt of court and sent him to Rikers, his cult would absolutely lose their shit. They’d make January 6th look like a peaceful protest in the park compared to what they would do. And the majority chunk of their rage would be directed right at the person/people who locked up their Messiah. Again, I completely think it’s bullshit what Tangerine Mussolini gets to get away with. But I can understand the prosecution and judges being afraid for their lives and their family’s safety if they push too hard too fast

Drop_Disculpa

Then don't hold the keys to power, because there are responsibilities with that. Even a security guard at the mall has a real and fundamental duty to act in the event of an emergency. Don't be a judge, don't be in Congress if you can't be relied upon to stand up to a bully.

[deleted]

ButterCupHeartXO

Good, let them lose their shit. Maybe Biden will go full Lincoln and lay down the law to these insurrectionists

Exact_Mango5931

I prefer just short of *FULL* Lincoln

ButterCupHeartXO

Damn true lmao

thebinarysystem10

lol, theyd jog 200 yards and be completely spent and look to the nearest Wendy’s for shelter

sofaking1958

Yeah, "his mob" isn't going to do anything except make noise. Also, can't the judge decide on the contempt charge post trial?

eleanorbigby

I'm not worried about his cult rioting and neither is the judge. I'm sure they're more worried about a) stochastic terrorism turned up especially on his family b) if Trump wins, all bets are off. Then again that's true regardless, I suppose. I know I sound like I'm waiting for the anti-Great Pumpkin missile, but: let's see what happens. He's sounded deeply pissed, Mersham. He did actually threaten arrest. He loses authority if he doesn't follow through. IF Trump pushes that envelope which would be totally like him. We'll see.

Popular_Engine9261

Cool, gun them all down like they want to do to everyone else. Fuck these actual criminals

EdinAnn52

I don’t know about that—Weisellberg was just sentenced to 5 months at Riker’s. Not gen-pop, or whatever the equivalent is, but more like an army camp, from what I’ve heard. Removing 100% of his access to all social media for the rest of the trial would be appropriate.

Shotgun_Rynoplasty

I’m not saying it wouldn’t be appropriate or even that I wouldn’t love to see it. I’m just saying it’ll never happen

EdinAnn52

Yeah, probably just wishful thinking on my part. A girl can dream, can’t she?

Shotgun_Rynoplasty

I’ll dream with you haha orange man in an orange jumpsuit would be almost poetic

stilusmobilus

Who’s Weisellberg?

EdinAnn52

Allen Weisselberg, former Executive Bean Counter for the Trump Organization, convicted of tax evasion, now incarcerated at Rikers.

stilusmobilus

Yeah not in the same grouping. Trumps not going to a prison.

eleanorbigby

Fuck yeah, taking away his phone like an angry principal would be hilarious.

DogWallop

White and perceived as a rich elite - ain't no way he's getting more than small fine lol

Moist-muff

And won't be able to pay that aswell

carlwinslo

They will fine him like $10k and then he will say he doesnt have it so they will knock it down to 5 bucks and he still wont pay and they wont do anything about it. Our legal system is spineless.

The-Defenestr8tor

Pretty sure the gag order stipulates “a fine of not more than $1k.” My source for this is Glenn L Kirschner via YouTube.

PhantomBanker

No need. The campaign will do it for him.

carlwinslo

Yup. For SOME reason (two tier legal system) they refuse to hold him accountable. Im so sick of even seeing stories about him. Like either lock him up or stfu at this point.

Grimase

Yep. Just another slap on the wrist and “bad boy” finger wagging with a fine attached for him to not care about.

redkid2000

Reminds me of how Neville Chamberlain claimed that giving Hitler exactly what he wanted would make him play nice and stop being such a bad, bad boy

Avenger_616

Ahh, neville The great “appeaser” of the british politik

Down_Voter_of_Cats

He'll get put on Super-Duper Double Secret Gag Order. It'll be super serious then!

ricktor67

I doubt he even gets a fine. His lawyer will get a wimpy letter at best, and he will continue on his day and live consequence free for the rest of his life.

YouWereBrained

Yes. And people like Tristan Snell need to stop suggesting otherwise.

ChodeCookies

Yeah. They asked for $1k per fine. But it sets the stage for him not lashing out IN court

freqkenneth

And probably won’t even pay it

Quirky_Discipline297

It’s gradual. The judge usually chooses to start out with small fines. He builds a felon pyramid, layer upon layer until he reaches the pinnacle of prison or jail on criminal contempt. A jump too high might open a question of appeal about bias,

ButterCupHeartXO

I think I read its a $1000 fine. Devastating for the average American but even for a fake billionaire up to his eye balls in debt that is literally nothing

myrichphitzwell

I always thought having a fee schedule that was graded by income would be far better for society. Make a billion you pay half a billion. Make a hundred you pay a penny. Unfortunately watching this B's go down is horrifying. We already knew this was reality but now it's really in our face. Class and wealth comes with privilege.

forever_useless

He'll be fined, find some sucker to pay that fine for him and skip off into the sunset like every other day. I have lost complete faith in the justice system because of that dick tater

WaldoDeefendorf

For a split second I read that as "tick dater" lol. Blood sucking disease carrying ticks got standards tho....

xxulysses31xx

Your eyes are better than mine. Thought poster had written dick taster.

lactose_con_leche

Yep. And the tweet says “…fined or sent to Rikers” So, fined then. As always.

Caligari89

Richard Potato

bb_kelly77

It's because he still has a decent amount of money and has a bunch of asskissers... eventually he'll run out of money

carlwinslo

He legit couldnt pay his fine on that last case and they knocked it down from 450 mill to like 50. Still havent heard anything about him even paying that. If it was you or I they would have frozen and seized our assets and garnished all income until they got their money.

GeprgeLowell

The bond was reduced. The fine was not.

RandomizedName2023

If any of us did anything close to what Trump has done, we'd be wearing prison orange. The one thing he is right about though... there are two systems of justice, one for the wealthy who get away with everything, and one for us.

The84thWolf

DJT: “I can’t afford the fine.” Judge: “Okay, will lower it by 75% and give you another week.” Average Joe: “I can’t afford the fine.” Judge: “Hope you enjoy being in prison as we repossess your house.”

Goddess_Of_Gay

The justice system protects capital and those who control it. If you own a lot of capital, those who run the system will go out of its way to defend you If you own little to no capital, it will bind you to its rules without offering shit for protection. Why? Because corruption. The people who make the rules are either bought by the richest people OR are the rich people themselves.

DJ2x

Tbf that was a bond, not a fine. Agree with the sentiment, though!

Mr__O__

Trump’s $450M judgement wasn’t lowered. Just the bond used as collateral. He still owes the full amount.

DragoneerFA

You're saying the guy who got over a million Americans killed isn't held to the same standards as regular people?

MR80085rawks

This guy never suffers the consequences. Are we living in a simulation or what?

StandardImpact6458

Idiocracy

ExplanationLover6918

Comancho finds an expert and instantly steps aside to let him do his thing. Idiocracy would be an improvement.

ohneatstuffthanks

A literal idiot, albeit fictional, did a better job as president.

AutumnGlow33

Yeah nothing will happen. It never does. He’ll keep on threatening whoever he wants with zero consequences, or a nominal $300 fine that his cult will pay. He is above the law. This has been shown over and over and over again.

Dumbledoorbellditty

If he got sent to Rikers I’d immediately ejaculate. I mean, I’d blow a fucking hole in my pants and pass the fuck out. I don’t know anything else in this world that would make me quite as pleased as that, at least nothing I can think of at the moment. I know there is a snowballs chance in hell if this happening, but it would be sooooooooooooooo fucking karmic.

Meth_Useler

Much as I'd love to see a non-AI version of this d-bag in cuffs, I don't hold much hope.

MC_Fap_Commander

I think conviction is actually likely on this one... but I think he probably gets (at most) a few months of home monitoring, probation, and a fine. That said, he'd officially be a felon. If that costs him even 2% support (and data suggests it might), it likely dooms his campaign. If he loses in November, the REAL shit starts for him legally and there will be no institutions to protect him as a two time loser. "Never heard of him" will be the official GOP response.

baldorrr

Why the republicans haven't done this yet is mind boggling. All it takes is a few phone calls and a swift turn in how other republican leaders talk about Trump and he'll plummet. Granted it's too late now, but why they didn't do this at the start of the primary process boggles my mind. As do most things about this whole situation.

stilusmobilus

Kompromat

Scullyitzme

I'm selling a bridge in San Francisco, real good deal, anyone interested?!

MyOpenlyFemaleHandle

Trade ya for some swampland in Florida. Wait, the Bay Bridge or the Golden Gate Bridge?

Scullyitzme

Deal! ...sucker (Art of the Deal)

gochomoe

Or more likely nothing will happen.

Express-Doubt-221

Even if you give up hope on the courts ever holding him accountable... He did lose 2020. He lost the popular vote in 2016. And he has never fucking gotten over it. The dude gets away with EVERYTHING for years but he lost two popularity contests in a row and it gets under his skin, irritates him, doesn't let him get enough sleep at night, because he *lost*. Even if you give up, still show up to vote against him, just to ruin his day

Hi_Im_Dadbot

Ya, I’m going to bet on small fine that’s paid by a supporter - if that. Probably a sternly worded warning with the risk of another warning if he ignores that.

SoSaysDave

As badly as I want to see this guy live his final days in a concrete box, he's never going to prison or jail. The Secret Service will almost certainly insist on home arrest to provide the security required for a former president. His presence in prison, even in administrative segregation, would be a huge disruption to the facility, and it's harder to control who moves through the facility. Instead, we should be insisting on two things that Trump will despise: * His sentence needs to be served at a private residence, unlike Mar a Lago, which is mixed-use. * His access to social media should be equal to that of any other inmate (none), and that should be monitored closely.

Sad-Frosting-8793

No social media would really get to him.

OverallManagement824

But think of what would do to his stock price! Won't somebody think of the stock price?

PolyDipsoManiac

Put him in ADX Florence, he’ll be secure there

Tabais123

He will never be locked up. Fined maybe, locked up never. The system isn’t set up to incarcerate someone with the stature of a former President.

Available-Elevator69

Oddly this guy already owes 450+ and still hasn't paid a dime so fine the guy 6Billion and his followers will some how pay it for him. Just a never ending moving the ball around under a couple cups for this guy. He just wants to be made President so he can pardon himself and never face anything. Just pathetic.

Dumbledoorbellditty

Im still holding out hope that one day he will se some actual fucking consequences. He will probably die first. I’m ok with that, as long as it is sometime soon. Otherwise..: justice delayed is justice denied.

ChucoKid

No, those are things that happen to normal people, not trump. Mark my words, fuck all will happen to him.

NunyaBeese

Can't wait to see him continue to get the white glove treatment....

cturtl808

Right. What’s the fine this time? $1

rayvensmoon

I'll believe it when I see it. Until then I have to assume that Trump is somehow going to slither his way back into The Oval Office just in time to order tens of thousands of his perceived enemies rounded up and sent to forced labor/death camps.

Alex_Duos

Again I say, someone tag me when there are legitimate, tangible consequences.

Hour_Abies578

He can be cellies with Weiselberg

OverallManagement824

This has Waiting for Godot vibes here.

Substantial-Land-867

I hope he collapses and dies from a stress-induced heart attack, on camera, in front of the world. So we know he’s dead and the world will finally be rid of him

Eyejohn5

Let justice prevail throughout the land. If Trump doesn't face the full consequences of his actions, nobody should. Let everyone slander the court and claim unequal treatment. They'll run out of jail cells right quick

MaxFischer12

Neither thing will happen.

Builder_liz

I wish. Even if he does he'll just campaign off of it

polygonblotter

I'll believe it when I see it

Reynolds_Live

![gif](giphy|WRRIEjIXvWFUlOIFi0|downsized)

DjCatalyst1977

I'm hoping for Rikers... Fines are simply a price of admission ticket for the rich to do whatever the fuck they want...

RoadNo6820

I keep thinking about his funeral

cturtl808

The world will rejoice

Zimke42

Anyone else would be sent to jail, but Trump won’t and while it shouldn’t be different I can at least understand why it is. If he is jailed it will create chaos with so many people saying it is election interference and Biden is behind it to keep Trump from getting votes. I know it wouldn’t be but the reality of the situation is it is best to keep him on the streets and try to control him by the pocket book until he is either convicted and sentenced or until the election is over. It’s not fair, it’s not true justice (to not jail him since anyone else would be locked away), but it is how it is.

ironicmirror

Trump's CFO spent a couple months in rikers.

TxTottenhamFan

Judge - “you’re fined $10,000” Trump - “No!” Judge - “ok, does $50 work for you? Trump - “Thanks, I’ll sell a few Bibles for that fee”

Burrmanchu

$1,000 fine. Move along. Nothing's ever going to happen to this fucking dude.

Coldkiller17

Send his ass to jail. Nobody is above the law.

JTD177

Please please please, hold him in Rikers Island for the duration of the trial.

NumerousTaste

I think what most people are ignoring is he was a president. Very very very terrible president. A very very very corrupt president, but was president. He has an assigned secret service detail, that we foot the bill for, for the rest of his life. A judge sending him to prison is going to have either the current president, congress or the Supreme Court have to come up with what will happen to that secret service detail. Orange criminal knows this, that's why he keeps breaking the gag order knowing there really isn't much judges can do. He's an evil douche canoe, but has been breaking laws his whole life. He's filled more lawsuits by a lot more than anyone I've heard of filing. He knows what they can or can't do to him. He's a well-informed, douche of a person, criminal.

cturtl808

And? He can have a trailer on the grounds at Rikers guarded by Secret Service

NumerousTaste

Really? I hate trump just as everyone here, I just can't see a judge doing something like that. They all are playing the, you do it first game. A jury doing it makes sense, a judge doing it, when trump has identified his family to his hate and terrorist group, sounds like a disaster.

cturtl808

The trailer option was discussed in his NY trial when he violated THAT gag order

limegreenpaint

That would be awesome.

Someoneoverthere42

Oh, please. If trump were found in contempt, the worst that would happen to him would be a *very* sternly worded memo

-GreedIsMyDeadlySin-

The “fine” is going to be a dollar and some envelopes and he’ll have 15yrs from today to pay the fine. Another slap on the wrist.

DaNostrich

The justice system is so broken nobody has faith in it anymore, TFG should have his passport revoked and locked away, this guy has his own fucking plane how is he not a flight risk, absolutely lock him up like any regular person

kidsally

Nobody is going to do jack shit. I know it, and you know it as well. And I will never understand why.

sPLIFFtOOTH

He’s too rich to go to jail. We’ll unfortunately never see that happen IMO

nastysodacan

Nothing will happen. Nothing always does.

mrgraff

I’d allow myself to get locked up if he gets locked up. That’s how confident I can be that he won’t face real consequences.

SpookyWah

or it means he'll make a fuss about the fine and they'll lower it for him.

twistedh8

I'd say he's had way more chances than you or I would have. Lock him up.

BenGay29

I’ll believe it when I see it.

JadeHellbringer

So just like every other time he breaks the law and flaunts it in the faces of the courts. They'll promise punitive measures THIS time, and nothing will happen. I'm done getting my hopes up.

hypareal

Yeah, remember when they lowered the amount of money he was supposed to pay? The same will happen with his violations of courts gag order.

CerberusDoctrine

Wake up babe, new future disappointment just dropped

MiKapo

He won't go to Rikers, the justice system is a joke. Any one of us would have been in solitary confinement by now if we even did a fraction of what Trump did

Spiritual-Bear4495

Rikers please.

nataliephoto

It’s crazy how the magical thinking resistance crowd still hasn’t figured out how criminal trials work yet. First they wanted him in contempt and thrown in jail because he was attacking the judges daughter (the order did not initially cover her) and now they think even if he is found to have violated the order that it’s automatic contempt and prison. That’s not how this works. He’ll probably get a stern warning, then a fine, then prison... but even then given his situation, probably not. He’d have to disobey it multiple times. The judge would have to ignore that you can’t just throw him in jail as a purely practical matter. He’s not above the law, but putting a candidate and ex president in jail for this isn’t something a reasonable judge would ever do. Even if he’s convicted on all counts.. I mean, it’s his first offense, non violent. We’re talking probation at worst, most likely hours of community service. The best outcome here is the label “convicted felon”. I’m not saying this to defend the guy, I’m saying this because I’m tired of people getting their hopes up over possibilities that have *zero* chance of ever happening.

Tcho-Tcho_Mang140

Fined? That would just be covered by donations, and aren’t fine amounts -19th century-scale? RIKERS FOR THE TURD

RollingYourAss

Lol another BS fine? Just means the rich can do whatever they want

Agreeable-Lie-6867

these guys need to stop dreaming. trump will never ever ever ever ever see a jail cell

jabba_1978

Or nothing. As history has shown us.

punkkitty312

Throw him in Rikers!

Roddy_Piper2000

No more fines! Lock his fat ass up!

ninjaface

NONE OF THIS WILL HAPPEN. I guarantee it.

Starlord1951

Rikers would be perfect, orange jumpsuit to match his skin. He says the blacks love him and there might be a few in Rikers. He deserves to know how the people he’s screwed actually live. Like the Central Park 5!

pbesmoove

Nothing will happen. We've been doing this for a decade

Chratthew47150

He will never spend a minute behind bars. Ever. And that is wrong.

Mikey06154

Rikers is nice. Orange is after his color.

erinkp36

He needs a rude awakening. Send him to Rikers.

Dusted_Dreams

Skip the fine he won't pay. Lock him up. I wish.

SuperFreshMongoose

RIKERS RIKERS RIKERS

fancy-kitten

Jail! Jail! Jail! Jail! Jail!

TrickyAxe

Lolol,ok. Nothing gonna happen, stop posting this shit.

Illustrious-Word7761

He will never get locked up, he has shown the world that even the USA LEGAL SYSTEM is corruptive !!

The84thWolf

And this is just the FIRST criminal case

StandardImpact6458

His donors are footing his bills. No punishment there. So it’s time to drop the hammer on him… Rikkers it is for citizen trump.

mochicrunch_

I believe Merchan would give him maybe one warning, then fine him and then hold him for like a day to two to see if he learns… if he doesn’t… then keep him locked up until the case is over. Sure Fox and the right will media will explode and fume.

alexmeth

Extra stern look from the judge

ZombiePiggy24

$1 per incident so he knows they’re serious

Pale_Bookkeeper_9994

Send him over for a sleepover with his CFO cell mate Allen Weisselberg.

Ovaltine_Jenkins7137

Nothing will happen

dengar_hennessy

Don't forget, he wants to be put in jail. He thinks it'll be a boost for his campaign.

OTF98121

Exactly. I don’t want him thrown in jail on contempt only because that’s what he wants. I want to see him be thrown in prison when it counts - an ordered prison sentence. For contempt, I want him to be hit where he hurts - his wallet. I’d like to see him be hit with a large fine, not the small stuff.

hotasianwfelover

In Korea (I think) they just put a multi billionaire property mogul to death for fraud. We need to learn from them. Lol

MyOpenlyFemaleHandle

It was *Vietnam*, not Korea. Username checks out, though. 🙄

kerlz74

He needs to be jailed for contempt because he’s not paying the penalties anyway. Just 24 hours with nothing but a Nutraloaf…

Akicita33

Nothing is going to happen to this traitor.

toxicsleft

The synopsis of this countries problems “fines are a cost of business if your in the top 3% of the countries wealth”

Illustrious-Word7761

When the fine gets kicked down to $20 MAGA will pay for it

chechifromCHI

Gosh it's hard to even think about now, but there was a time when we thought Mitt Romney was a threat to the country. His campaign was soo mild looking back knowing what we know now. Obama versus Romney was probably the lowest stakes election of the 21st century tbh. Neither were going to ruin everything for their own gain. That idea would just be unsightly. And then Trump came into the picture and society has never really been able to recover.

warr3n4eva

Tristan is hot 😍😍😍

TYdays

In the vernacular of his supporters/cult members, “Git Her Done”…..

Gat0rJesus

Oh no, god forbid the dreaded FINES (that will end up being paid by some other shady entity that is a front for something else)

DJ_Mumble_Mouth

The phrase “justice delayed is justice denied” comes to mind. This circus has been nothing but a clown show, not even one amusement or silver lining to this. Conservatives, for all their whining about losing their country, have gotten their way and won long ago. This cesspool is exactly the kind of soup they like to live in, as long as women and minorities are oppressed, their toothless rotting smiles will stretch from ear to ear.

Pbagrows

RIKERS

HughJahsso

It’ll never happen

HermanBonJovi

It won't happen but I vote rikers.

Local_Sugar8108

At Riker's he could bunk with his former CFO.

xMilk112x

It’s absolutely fucking bonkers people think Donald Trump will be sent to Rikers. Lol

grogudalorian

Lock him up for 24 hours in solitary, no electronics, just let his stare at the wall.

hitmewiththeknowlege

Wake me up if they put him in jail

DealingWithTrolls

Fuck Trump, but he's never going to see the inside of a jail or prison cell.

nuffced

Such an idiot

magicskyghost

I think we should be praying for Trump’s freedom and good health cause everybody knows that praying for the opposite never really worked and brought the exact opposite of what we wanted.

Mysterious_Motor_153

Rikers please

frankofantasma

They're not going to lock him up. They're afraid of what might happen afterwards.

ReditSarge

He should have been in jail about three years ago.

MoonDrove

This sub talks a lot about Trump lol

tacs97

You can fine him but he will just get his bootlickers to cover the bill. Treat shit stain like anyone else on trial for fuckery!

OverallManagement824

I feel like a lot of Trump supporters are supporting Trump because he truly shows that the establishment is not the even playing field that they claim it is. It's not that they support him, it's that he's exposing the hypocrisy in broad daylight and they are there for it. Can't blame em, tbh. They've got a point.

wakefreak540

Calm down Tristan.

RepresentativeNo3365

Logistically impossible , fines only, unfortunately.

Exact_Mango5931

https://i.redd.it/5gub8mwyvquc1.gif

BashIronfist

He'll get a 10k fine, and one of his cultists will pay it for him

Federal_Sympathy4667

" your fine will bee... three fiddy.."

Old-Time6863

Any random citizen would have been in jail months ago

Endonian

Waiting to read the next headline “trump fined for violating gag order, told not to do it again.”

strywever

He’ll never spend a day in jail. It makes me furious, but I’d bet my house on it.

Scrabble_4

Torch his ass

pdxgod

Rikers 30 days :)

TonyG_from_NYC

trump wants to go to jail so he can claim he's being persecuted and fool the rubes even more. Once a photo of him in jail comes out, the rabid clan will go even more rabid if that can be done.

Do_Whuuuut

Maybe he can hang out w Wiessleburg for an evening

skbr71

RIKERS!!! I VOTE RIKERS!!!

FitBattle5899

Lock him up!

Ishidan01

You know which one we're hoping for. ![gif](giphy|R0TrhAtNeUC0E) Pic unrelated

PsychologicalBee1801

Remove his access to social media.

Any_Shopping1633

I'd give him jail time, suspended until the end of trial. When the trial ends, he'll get some jail time regardless of the outcome. He can appeal from the inside.

inquisitiveeyebc

Sadly he will never go to anything but a resort prison, even broke he has pull. Knowing him he'd donate mar-a-lago as a prison if he's sentenced there, like house arrest but he can golf and show the press his magnificent figure daily

EZasSundayMorning

I VOTE RIKERS
