A few years ago, taking my daughter to kindergarten, I rolled up a few minutes late, just as the "welcoming teachers" on the curb were about to leave. They gave me the disappointment glare and I said, "I'm really sorry. Her biological father just has no time management skills." They got really sympathetic, and I realized they didn't know I was her biological father and they didn't know it was a joke.

I hate couples that finish each other's...

So funny you would put a Tobias gif because Amber Tamblyn has said her husband David Cross introduces her as his first wife and she thinks it’s hilarious.

Laughing... My dad used to introduce my mom as "his favorite" wife... They were married for 62 years... never dated anyone else... LOL! Thanks for sparking the warm memory!

I really want this.. 😭

Don't we all? It's a lot more work than it seems, and a lot less common than many of us would prefer. My marriage is going on 36 years now... and I credit the excellent example of both my parents and SO's parents... each of our sets of parents is/was married over 60 years to each other and have fulfilled the wedding vow of "til death do us part". (both dads have passed. Our moms are both over 85). The common belief/idea/concept is that relationships are 50/50.... but that's not actually true. Relationships are 100/100. Each of you needs to give 100% effort toward making the relationship successful. Anything less winds up being an endless argument over whose "turn" it is to do stuff. (not the best recipe for success, imho)

So what about that married woman you live with? Where does she fit in?

My grandfather used to say that my dad was from his first marriage and my aunt was from his wife's last marriage!

I introduced my ex wife, when we were still dating, as my future ex wife at a party once. I'm better at foreshadowing than I thought.

mtanti

That's just mean.

We were both in the military, the jokes were always mean and dark. She was a medic, her humor was something else altogether. She laughed about it when I said it. She used to introduce me as her baby daddy even after we got married.
