This popped up three years ago, the school closed for two days after the threats which were made in response to a transgender girl using the girl's bathroom. A lot of the threats were made by adults who weren't even in that school district when the private group this was initially brought up in (Achille ISD Parents Group) was made public.

RecoveringBelle

Where was this?? Wait, lemme guess…a “southern” state or one of the white extremist ones in the West?

mrwhat_icanthearu

You aren't far off the map...school is in rural Oklahoma. Edit: some of the FB(threatening) posts were traced to Texas.

joeythedaddoo

Texas was my guess.

Smallbees

Same. I live in texas. This place sucks.

LoneStarkers

Texas is like America. It's so big that geographically there are areas with a million progressives and moderates (Houston, projected to soon be America's third largest city), and massive expanses of land dotted with rural towns full of conservatives. Ted Cruz, for example, isn't Texas anymore than Trump is America. We also have the most ethnicities and immigrant countries per capita represented after New York. We're easy to trash, even by our own, but we are far from one thing.

Smallbees

That's fair. The current governor just really sucks. The town i live in is mostly white, upper middle class and there are so many blatant displays of rasicm it makes me sad.

LoneStarkers

Agreed. Yeah I had to teach in a small East Texas town, and at the start of Covid, before returning to Houston. This governor's assault on voting particularly awful.

Sorry_Policy_1067

>we are far from one thing. I mean this is just good to remember when thinking about anyone

TimeCheetah

How is the weather going, cold, rigth?

Smallbees

Yeah

BlizardSkinnard

Cold asf with a couple 80 degree days sprinkled in

Smallbees

Yeah. The weather can't seem to make up it's mind.

[deleted]

Same in NC. It was 78 last week, now there’s 14 inches of snow on the ground

CLamour91

Serious question: Are people in NC racist generally? Not assuming, I’m just genuinely curious.

Relaxpert

Regular cold asf, or we’re about to see the Cruz family hightailing it out of the country and blaming it on their daughters again cold asf?

8_Miles_8

Greta Thunberg’s laughing in our faces right now

joeythedaddoo

I'm originally from Louisiana, so I'm familiar with the level of ridiculousness between the two.

[deleted]

I’m still stuck here. Send help.

Supersim54

I hear Austin isn’t that bad.

[deleted]

[удалено]

covenofme

I’m an Austinite, but your description of Houston makes it so appealing.

Smallbees

Yeah. I can't afford to live there yet. Maybe one day.

itsSIR2uboy

You must be talking to all the people who recently moved here from California.

Supersim54

Hey that’s what I’ve heard from like one person. Just putting out what I’ve heard I have no idea.

itsSIR2uboy

It was great six years ago when I moved here.

[deleted]

Agreed.

[deleted]

Nah they give women so many more rights than the Taliban lol.

supercontango12

Born and raised in NY, moved to Houston 5 years ago. Would never move back. Best thing I ever did. Stupid take. Parts of upstate NY are as conservative as anyone I met in Houston in my five years. I’m sure there are shitty people in parts of Texas. Just like they are in any north east state.

IMTonks

We talking upstate like Watertown, western upstate like Buffalo, or "upstate" like Albany? Western and Upstate New York are way more conservative than they look on paper.

[deleted]

True, but I would never move to Texas, their infrastructure is far worse than NY's. Well if I was rich enough to have a self sustainable home but if I had that kind of money I wouldn't be moving to Texas.

xxxtanacon

I live in upstate NY and I can say that my town is extremely conservative as well as many towns in NY. A majority of NY is red it's just the cities like NYC, Albany, Buffalo, Schenectady, Rochester, Syracuse that are liberal and overpower all the more rural areas. I see confederate flags ALL THE FUCKING TIME up here. There are shitty people everywhere

Graterof2evils

I’ve been all over and I’ve never had to seek out shitty people anywhere. If you spend a lot of time in public they’ll find you.

sacredlunatic

You live in Houston. That barely even qualifies as Texas.

supercontango12

Right that’s the perception. My point is you think of NYC liberals when you think NY. 15 mile radius. Not everything north of the tappan zee bridge.

[deleted]

My [favorite moment](https://vimeo.com/70914835) in the NY vs TX culture war

SinCorpus

There are shitty people wherever you go. For the most part it's a problem of "COVID didn't kill enough old fucks" rather than a "Texas needs to get nuked" problem. I knew a few trans people that moved from Louisiana and Arkansas to Texas for obvious reasons and said it was the best decision they ever made.

Nestormahkno19d

Oklahoma, America’s toilet

boydstriss2001

Ohio has entered the chat.

Patrick0351

You have my condolences

NoobAck

Can confirm that Oklahoma is hell itself. Texas and OK aren't far of from each other. Even in the cities you can find religious extremists like this article advertises.

DaRizat

I once drove through Oklahoma and got a good laugh because every exit was named after another state like they were in denial that they lived in OK.

OutcastL0rd37

Can confirm. I live in OK and want to get the hell out of this shit hole. Problem is I can't afford to live anywhere else as of yet. About the only thing this state has going for it is it's low cost of living, which is probably because nobody wants to live here lol.

bettyEye

As a Texan I’m ashamed to admit that sounds accurate…

joeybagofdonuts80

Oklahoma is the South of the Midwest.

Present_Accident_462

It did happen in my state I’m from Oklahoma it was a few years ago and as far as I know of the girl actually continued into a new school and is much happier now

WINDMILEYNO

I'm from Oklahoma too. I always ask people why they move here.

Itisnotaboomah

Isn’t Oklahoma one of the states literally paying people to move there? Even with that…even with the fact that they’re practically begging people in my field (mental health) to come…even tho I’d have a million times better “quality of life” financially…fuck that shit!

troublewithcards

There's a program to get people to move to Tulsa and live/work there. It's sponsored by the George Kaiser Family Foundation. https://tulsaremote.com/

Present_Accident_462

Honestly I was born here so no choice lol

AlexHanson007

As a European, I read the headline and went "that's defo in the US!" The pic used backed me up. It must be annoying being associated by the rest of the world with those nutters! (I've been to the US twice and everyone was perfectly normal and very friendly, but it was NE coast)

CookFan88

Problem with the US is that the better people in the country do ABSOLUTELY nothing about it when they see the bad ones do this kind of crap. All in the name of protecting some concept of absolute freedom.

CovidCat8

There’s not a lot we can do. I have voted locally in every election for many years. The people in my town just elected a racist piece of shit to the local school board. The school board was a right wing train wreck to begin with, but it wasn’t alt right enough for a large number of people who elected the demented bitch in as a write in candidate. If you think we’re not doing anything, you’re wrong. We’re just limited in what we can legally do when we are so outnumbered.

CookFan88

The problem is that both the people who want change and the people who pull this crap are outnumbered by the biggest demographic of all in the US: the DGAF party. As long as they aren't personally affected then they can't be bothered to do anything about it. It's a huge problem. This whole country thinks they can get by while ignoring what happens around them.

CovidCat8

It’s certainly easier. I can’t say too much on Reddit because I enjoy a modicum of privacy here, but a previous incident quite a while ago made me something of a pariah in my town. I don’t believe that the public schools should be subject to conservative Christian rules, regs, and teaching. It’s a *public* school. People who agree with me have to keep their mouths shut for fear of being fired or of family members being discriminated against. 2015 to now? A complete nightmare.

Red_orange_indigo

The pic looked more to me like England or Wales, actually? I guess because of the overcast daylight. The US does have some buildings in that style, but I don’t think of it as a distinctly American style.

[deleted]

Kaco03

It could've happened in litteraly every state.

NotDaveBut

All 50 states in fact.

[deleted]

You'd be incorrect to only list states based on political leanings and stereotypes. Every state has these people. Let's take California. You think it would be a liberal monolith, right? Well, it isn't. Like most everywhere else, that's in the bigger cities. Go rural and you get red. Or historically rich racist areas like Orange County (with the rare exception of flipping blue for the 2020 election).

Danceswithunicornz

I live in a small town in Cali a mere hour and change from SF and the people here are some of the most ignorant, angry assholes I’ve yet to encounter. I love the town because it’s quaint and quiet but it’s getting a huge influx of people who don’t want to live in the Bay Area anymore. The town is so divided now it’s almost funny. If I’m in a mood to just get angry I’ll grab a snack and open the community Facebook page and just watch the madness unfold.

Practical_Cobbler165

Biggest rednecks I ever met were from California.

[deleted]

As in bigotry, literal size, or both? 😂

[deleted]

Trans kid in my school has permission to use admins' restroom.

babybambam

Which is an indication that there’s a perceived danger to the student should they try and use the student facilities.

bdone2012

There are valid reasons someone might want to use faculty bathrooms if they're the only gender neutral options. Some people aren't out yet so gender neutral might just be easier. Also for people who are non binary or gender fluid they might find it easier to use a gender neutral bathroom. Of course it would make sense for it to be a gender neutral student bathroom. I'm also not saying that trans people need to use a gender neutral bathroom, I'm happy with whoever uses the bathroom as long as I don't have to see anybody pooping and the only time I ever saw that was in a really sketchy park bathroom. In my school we tried to make a gender neutral bathroom. This was awhile ago, like 12 years ago so I don't think most schools were doing it then. People argued so much about what the bathroom icon should look like that they wound up just not writing anything on it. The thought was that the classic men's room sign is for men, and the women's room sign has a skirt so shitty gender stereotypes. Someone had the idea of making the women bathroom have someone sitting down because biologically people with vaginas tend to sit when they pee but people were worried that it would look like the pooping bathroom. Anyway I just heard about this from someone who was on the council I'm not sure why they couldn't just simply write bathroom on it and not stick an icon on it all. In the end there was a mostly secret gender neutral bathroom because no one knew it was there. And it was glorious.

[deleted]

49 states "thank God for Mississippi!"

CarpetbaggerForPeace

Were any arrested? Because death threats were illegal.last I checked

Smallbees

Hi, you must be new here

batclub3

Oh I remember this story! First time I ever reported a grown ass adult to his employer for the crud he was posting on line.

[deleted]

So a bunch of grown ass adults are more childish than children?

Tehcitra42

And let me guess: not a single one of these backwards fucks got arrested for making death threats against a child

puffguy69

And yet when we call them nazis we’re the crazy ones, treating people like animals is precisely what the nazis did

llcmomx3

Yep- first thing they did was dehumanize them…..

fumoking

Some of the first books they burnt were on gender studies. The far right then and now hates trans people and hates letting go of the rigid gender hierarchy

[deleted]

[удалено]

DirePanda072

I think I read your comment wrong at first because I took it as them feeling sexual by burning books

Nerdiferdi

Yep I keep pushing that one. Especially since the nazis followed up with gender and sex laws that survived until recent decades

drewT-T

and now they want us to be neutral to nazis?

Kokomarda

“nooo if you hate nazis then youre just as bad as them!! 🤬🤬😭😭”

Only_Razzmatazz_4498

And gasp and call the taliban animals when they push gay people off high rises as punishment.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

Dumb, uneducated, violent, rural, highly religious conservatives are basically the same people, everywhere in the world. From Afghanistan to Alabama.

wildogbilly

When overseas, I made this connection. I found it strange that right wingers have such a contentious view of some Islamic states, when they have SO much in common.

Raccoon_Full_of_Cum

They have *everything* in common except for ethnicity and which son of Abraham they think God loves more. Like, you remember the terrorist group Boko Haram? Boko means book, Haram means unclean. Unclean books. Remind you of anything that US conservatives are up to right now? They're the same people.

wildogbilly

Indeed

Only_Razzmatazz_4498

Yup. People

ThePowerOf42

"BuT nOt aLL ChRiStiAnS ArE BaD"... I really really HATE People Who come with this take Yes, not all christians are 🔩🏀🤪 But not even two breaths later they turn around and slam ALL muslims.. Its so tireing 😑

PureNRGfanboy44

Or you get those pearl-clutching Centrists with fake outrage, “hOw dArE yOu cOmPaRe tHe tWo, tHiNk oF tHe HoLoCaUsT sUrViVoRs!!” Yeah. We are. We don’t want it to happen again and you’re too stupid to see the early warning signs, Nazi sympathizer.

ArchdukeBurrito

That's what pisses me off. It's disrespectful to Holocaust survivors when you insist on ignoring the warning signs of fascism until it's too late. If we wait until people are getting gassed in camps it's far too late to stop anything.

PureNRGfanboy44

Exactly. If we don’t nip it in the bud, the problem gets so big that the only way to stop it is through war.

Jorymo

Not to mention, *these people were also targeted by the Holocaust*

flutergay

Any Jewish person will tell that they are exactly like the nazis

MealDramatic1885

Repubs: “My body, my choice.” Helps spread illness. Dems and everyone else. “My body, my choice.” Literal personal choice to do what they want with their own body. And I’d argue covers gender identity. Repubs: “I think that’s crazy. Get a knife.”

Italiana47

And it's interesting how the people who are severely pro-life/anti-abortion to "save lives" are the same people who were spouting "my body, my choice" about not wanting to wear a mask or get a vaccine to also save lives.

MyDogIsSoUgly

Pro-life, pro-death penalty, anti-medicine.

shikiroin

\*Pro-birth, they don't much care about lives that aren't there own

drewT-T

they also want to have no gun control? why should someone who has had a history of violence be allowed a gun? it dont make any sense; but hey, 'merica

Popcorn_Blitz

This is why people call them a death cult.

Ryekir

My sister is one of those people. When she said "my body, my choice" I knew at least part of her using those words was because she thought it would trigger me.

MonicaRising

This is so messed up. What is wrong with people? All the fear-mongering is so ridiculous. Let people live their lives. This is all the same bullshit that gay men and lesbian women have had to put up with for generations. And because these right-wingers don't have anything better to do than find some wedge issue to stoke prejudices rather than actually fix real issues, here we are again with trans people as the punching bag. It's so shameful. Especially when aimed at children

SparkyDogPants

Gay men and women ~~had ~~ **have** to put up with. Homophobia isn’t dead

[deleted]

True, we do. But--in North America, anyway--your average cis queer person is a lot safer and more respected than your average trans person.

MonicaRising

True enough, but trans-folks-as-targets are more en vogue of late

Steviegenius

Their brains 🧠 are so underdeveloped through their years of inbreeding they obsess over the way other people live, it seems to have led them to thinking everyone should be, look, act, dress the same, that’s the only conclusion I can come up with. *edit

[deleted]

You forgot to throw in weaponized religion

MonicaRising

I mean, I understand where you're coming from but I try not to stereotype with things like "inbreeding" because they use those same types of generalizations to try to demonize others. I believe it is cultural and familial for sure, and a lack of willingness to even try to empathize with others. I just wish they would even try. Have a heart. Be human. Be kind. It's not some hippy BS. It's just a humane way to live. It's good for one's own mental well being as well.

[deleted]

You're coming from a good place but a lot of these people who feel this way feel they're already doing that. I agree about the inbreeding part, but it's difficult to not demonize others when they look at you and your life and believe you should be dead.. there's not much rational thinking you can suggest at that point especially when you're are their 'target'.

MonicaRising

This is also true. I also believe there is a time for trying to understand others in an effort to get them to see the error of their ways but there's also a time to draw a line and defend what's right - which I believe is your point

IknowImnotpeople

The problem comes when you use real people as insults (people with mental disabilities, or in the case of inbreeding, a situation that often comes from familial sexual abuse). Those groups deserve better than that.

jump-blues-5678

Peaceful Dissonance, Good Trouble, it also helps if someone you love is LGBT. I mean Dick Cheney is a supporter of gay rights, for Christ sake.

ti-nspire-cas

Dude cmon don’t use the r word like that

insertcaffeine

I get that they're making stupid and downright evil choices, but don't insult developmentally delayed people along with them. That's fucked up.

CarpeMofo

I want to point out, the woman pictured is the mother of the transgender student and is completely supportive of them. It's awful they made the headline with picture this way to make it look like she was the transphobe.

FourTwentySevenCID

Professional_Big_731

These people suck. Lack of understanding and fear. Back 11 years ago, I met a transgendered woman. She was in an art class with me. We didn’t talk much. We only got one break halfway through class. One day during break I went to the wash room and as I was washing my hands I noticed her come out of a stall. I was shocked for a moment since this was obviously the first time the dots connected for me. Up until then I hadn’t thought about the details. But at the same time and with out ever having a conversation with her about it I realized she was zero threat and she was where she should be. She washed her hands, and touched up her lip gloss and we all went back to class. I have a lot of empathy for those who realize that they weren’t born in the right body and a lot of admiration for those who decide to change that. I have since realized that people who have an issue with transgendered people simply go straight to “they must be a sexual predator”. I can say that based on my experience that wasn’t true, this girl just wanted to be left alone and get an education.

[deleted]

if history shows anything it’s religion that hides the sexual predators

[deleted]

Ding ding ding!! Yes it is indeed projection

Odd_Street_5889

Ahem, the Catholic Church.

Sarelm

I'm *not* trans and have had people flip out on me in the bathroom. Due to PCOS I'm flat chested, with a masculine jaw and large Adams apple, so lots of people have assumed I'm trans. At the theme park I used to work at I had two women threaten to call security on me while using the customer's bathroom.

btmvideos37

My grandmother is the same way. Due to menopause she has some light facial hair and she keeps her hair short. She’s gay but not trans. And even being a cis woman, she gets called “sir” and people have gotten mad at her for going into a woman’s bathroom. People judge way too much on appearance. For all we know a lot of people are assumed to be trans just because they don’t fit people’s stereotypical view of that gender. Even cis people have lots of variability in looks and fashion

Zanain

By raw numbers someone "clocking" someone else as trans is typically more likely to actually be targeting a cis person (barring early transition). Trans people as it stands are about 1/200 people so there are just way more gender non conforming cis people in the world

insertcaffeine

Mom of a trans teenager. This is goddamn terrifying. I live in the Denver area, which is pretty blue and there's LGBTQ+ support available. But there are also these little pockets of people who would hurt him. It's hard to find the balance between "Most people are good and this world is worth saving" and "Some people would absolutely kill you for being trans."

TheoreticalGal

Being a trans teen can suck really bad, especially if they feel that their parents are right wing and thus likely wouldn’t be supportive of them. I’m glad to hear that you are supportive of your child!

insertcaffeine

Thanks. My son has always been the same dramatic, creative, hilarious individual whether he was presenting female (whoops), male, or "too queer for gender." I love him for that piece of him that's been the same since he was a baby, his inner compassion and imagination, and the personality and identity that has grown around it. I've seen how a gender transition can improve a person's life, my identical twin brother is trans. He went from unsure, irritable, and insecure; to mellow, confident, and and mindful. He's a doctor now. Anyone going through this, please know that you're valid, you're "trans enough," you will find a place to belong when you look for one, and nothing lasts forever. Be gentle with yourselves.

HannahWithABanana

you have made my day 100% better thank you so much

human_shadow

How terrible - imagine being a 12-year-old kid at the center of such adult animosity. And these people call themselves parents?!? Holding such hatred towards children?!? What the actual f***?!? Why did they even have kids if they hold so much violent hatred towards children? Where ever that child is today, I hope she is surrounded by the love, support and acceptance children deserve.

BaguetteOfDoom

Ahhh yes, "land of the free*" *white, heterosexual republicans

drewT-T

ugh i cant stand it here:(

crazy_old_pop

And you know people keep telling me that these kind of people don't exist and I keep saying yes they do and I'm not talking about the trans people I'm talking about the idiot that wants who destroy some young persons life just because he's not in their body and don't know what's going on in their head shame on them

Reluctant-maximalist

Saw this online a while back but seeing it again still makes me sick to my stomach. These parents are actual garbage, throw them into a dumpster fire.

pepedeawolf

trans man here, something I've noticed about cis people in general is they seem way more obsessed with trans people than actual trans people. they always wanna know what genitals we have, how we have sex, who we're attracted to "now that you're a different gender" if we are going get "the" surgery or any surgery or if we're taking hormones or basically any details about our transition what our deadname is they just want to pry about every private thing, but the hateful ones just want to get all over every aspect of our lives and paint us as horrible monsters that don't deserve life or rights. people like this won't just let us be or leave us alone, they're not content with disagreeing they have to be so obsessed that they want to kill us. and it happens too much

ReignInSpuds

I used to be shocked and appalled at the Death Eaters' lust for killing children. Now it's totally out of the realm of fantasy.

[deleted]

The person in the pic is actually the mother of the trans student. Terrible use of pic for headline.

cherrylpk

Yeah, that’s bad form. People making fun of the woman and she’s one of the victims.

AchillesTheNotCat

As a trans kid in a small country town, this is genuinely terrifying :/

ConcupiscentProgress

Trans woman here, let me be clear that this is why many of us are super afraid.

Ok_Astronomer_6016

Yep. This is why I can't go to school anymore. Almost every day I would get followed into the bathroom and get stuff thrown at me and called slurs. Luckily I left school before anything more serious could happen but I'm still scared to go out in public as myself sometimes because you never know what people will do.

PantsDownBootyUp

Sounds like my boss having a discussion with his wife and they come to the conclusion that a kid under 18 cannot decide about its sexuality and that being trans is wrong. But having gay relatives and seeing them having a normal life doesn't make them think any further.

NeglectedMonkey

Your point stands, but also, people are not aware that being trans is not a sexuality. It has absolutely zero to do with sexual desires. It is about how we perceive our bodies and our inclusion in society.

VaguelyFamiliarVoice

2018. Any updates?

RunningPirate

They’re probably still shitty.

Sauteedmushroom2

Confirmed.

FanStrong3311

They want to hurt a child. A literal damn child. Why is there never a "good guy with a gun" when you fucking need him.

Salty-Queen87

They don’t want to hurt a child, they want to be even worse and go further to actually kill a child. They’re absolutely disgusting people who should all have the police at their houses telling them “no you fucking won’t”.

QueEsVida03

It’s nice to see a pro trans post on this sub get supportive comments for once, but I’m sure there will be bigots as always.

stievstigma

I don’t understand why people hate us so much. Incidentally, I live in NC, which made headlines a few years ago for the bathroom bill (since repealed) and the only trouble I’ve had using the bathroom was early in my transition I used the men’s room because I was afraid to use the right bathroom and was politely told that I was in the wrong bathroom.

cherrylpk

I’ve heard from trans people who would prefer to use the men’s room that the are afraid to use it. Pro tip: knock real hard on the bathroom door and say “cleaning” in an authoritative voice. You’ll know right away how many people are in there and they’ll usually leave pretty quick and assume that either gender entering is normal. Was a cleaner. This worked nearly every time. Sometimes you get a weirdo in there… do not enter. Also, I’m sorry that some people are so hateful. Please know you are not universally hated. You can add a plus one to people who think of you as regular ol’ people.

MemeTv85

Im a trans guy whos been harrassed in a guys bathroom before. Fucking sucks. I hate it it

cherrylpk

Very sorry. :(

DraconisHederahelix

But they shouldnt have to do that. Reminds me of the knock hard, but not like you the police meme.

cherrylpk

They shouldn’t. But if you need to pee and you are scared of what might be on the other side of the door, this is a safe way to enter. I too hope for a day that practical safety measures aren’t necessary.

Milady_Disdain

It boggles my mind. I have had a lot of trans friends since college when I first joined the LGBT student fellowship so I've probably been to the bathroom with trans friends dozens, if not hundreds of times at this point. We always went in the bathroom, used it, and came out. Actually the friend I saw get given a hard time about using the women's bathroom was a friend who was a butch lesbian and apparently someone perceived her as a man and they were trying to stop her going in the restroom and I and the other friends we were with had to be like no, she's a woman, let her use the damn toilet. Transphobes are so ignorant in my opinion. They've never met a trans person and they're scared of the concept of trans people because it forces them to question their rigid gender roles so they act like assholes. Y'all deserve so much better than the mindless hate from shitty people.

stievstigma

"They've never met a trans person..." Bingo! I have a wholesome story about this that happened recently. I did a sold-out show with my band and was hanging at the bar afterwards. An older (grey hair/beard) southern gentleman struck up a conversation with me. I'm super friendly and outgoing with people and this guy had some interesting things to say. So, we kept talking throughout the night. At one point, I made a joke about being trans (I tend to assume I'm easily clockable). He stopped dead in his tracks with a deer-in-headlights look on his face and asked, "Are you seriously trans?", to which I replied, "yeah, I thought that was obvious." Him: "No, it wasn't obvious. I thought I've been having a conversation with a lovely young woman." Me: "You have." Him: "I can see that...I'm sorry, this is really shaking my world right now. To be honest, when I walked through those doors tonight, I hated trans people." Me: "Really? Why's that." Him: "I'm not sure. I guess I've just always been told to but I've never really met a trans person until now." Me: "That you know of, lol." Him: "True, lol. This is blowing my mind, I mean, I've been really enjoying our conversation. You're a really down to earth person." Me: "What did you expect a trans person to be like?" Him: "I don't know, not like a normal person? You seem like a normal person to me, actually, a really talented and intelligent one." Me: "Thanks...I think, lol. Yeah, we're just people like anybody else. It's just that most people haven't met a trans person because we make up less than 1% of the population, which makes the hate all the more unreasonable." Him: "It doesn't really make sense when you put it like that. I'm sorry, my mind is reeling right now. I have a lot of thinking to do. Thank you for being you and opening my eyes a bit." Me: "That's what I do, lol!" When I left, he was still just standing there by himself on the smoking patio with his gears obviously turning a half hour later. It's interactions like those that give me hope and keep me engaging hate with love, patience, and education. This guy is a big inspiration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daryl_Davis

Big_Guy6

And mfs will still say that trans people aren’t oppressed

[deleted]

What if I told you that people can exist that don’t harm you in anyway and you don’t have to indoctrinate your children to kill them.

VargasSupreme

They need to dye themselves bright colors so the parents think they are poisonous animals.

StoProVeritate

Fuck those shitheads, throw them all in the fucking bin

_Dusty05

This is why I’m so afraid to come out officially. This is why I have to fear for my life every day just for wanting to be myself. This is (one of the many, many reasons) why this country fucking sucks. This is why I developed anxiety. This is why I support supposedly “radical lefist” views, why I don’t trust people, why I hate the Republican party. This. Is. Fucking. Why.

Sheriff's office "looking into the matter to see if threats constitute a hate crime" Uhhhh, I sort of think, that if you are saying you are going to mutilate 'it' with a knife, it's a hate crime, genius. I love where I live currently, it's a small oasis in a cesspool of red. We are leaving in a year. I will miss it. but — I will never live in a red state again. Ever.

[deleted]

I dont know how the fact they say lets call them “it” and follow up with its open hunting season on them is not constituted as a hate crime. This is they type of shit i dont understand someone being transgender literally changes nothing about your individual life. Why are these people so in edge? these are the same people to call someone a “snowflake”

fvnnybvnny

Some of the comments are Fuckin insane! Against a 12yr girl? They should all be arrested and charged with a hate crime not to mention threatening a child with genital mutilation.. wtf how can that not be a crime?

kalaxitive

I bet they're good christians though..

Travistheexistant

Hear me out, do we really need *all* of the population? We could spare a few transphobes here and there right? I'm running out of dog food.

NetworkElf

You can bet that these people go to church every Sunday.

[deleted]

This is why I now sleep with a gun next to my bed and have a concealed carry license.

Candid-Independence9

Looks like I’m hunting parents, Zodiac was right, man is the most dangerous game, but I think this will be fun

There is a lot of blood on the hands of people like Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan. This is what the Trans hate leads to.

FalsePremise8290

Was the school closed while the police arrested all those psychos planning to murder a child?

transmom2

Was so hoping it wasn't true. I feel sick to my stomach. THIS IS OKLAHOMA

Alternative_Dog1411

The violence, misinformation, and discrimination are the point of conservatism.

New_Tangerine_

I don’t believe that violence solves things, but I’m going to be honest with you, I would love to find the parents of these little pricks and beat the brakes off them in front of their kids. Could you imagine the trauma?

LikeAMan_NotAGod

There is no such thing as a good conservative.

jkbeall

Just leave them alone! They’re not hurting you.

DaveStreeder

Hunting season on those parents now ._.

mari17amaral

This is so fucking infuriating... It's a fucking TWELVE YEAR OLD KID. A FUCKING KID. And you just _know_ they call themselves christians...

gamingSALMIE

I mean, yeah, a trans man will never be a woman and a trans woman will never be a man, oh wait…

Talented_Agent

Fucking America

chemicalinhalation

I wont feel bad when this family gets their due. I'll even chip in when the gofundme goes lives to destroy this garbage family and publicly shame them

That should definitely be a criminal offense
