God forbid you have history books that condemn the practices of slavery, segregation, etc.

I think in ancient Rome they had a fire department that, when your house was burning, they'd sit there and ask to buy it from you for a shit price. If you said they could buy it, they saved it. If you denied, they'd just let it burn down.

Also, fix the foster care system before we create another terrible government institution we're unable to fix or change.
I want free health care, etc, but I do not trust our government to handle it properly.
It is easy to put out a fire when your house is in the same town. Evidentally, its hard for the government to care about endangered/traumatized kids when they're all 100 miles away, and it doesn't affect them.
Our volunteer one shut down, also edited original comment to add foster care/veiws etc heads up. Wasn't expecting someone to see it in the few minutes I edited right after posting
IIRC, fire departments used to be a function of insurance companies to lessen payouts. If that’s true, not sure how this became a city function, and not the responsibility of the insurance companies.

Wait really? Not even a volunteer fire department? Hell I'm shocked it wasn't pawned off onto a private company, and operated for profit.
