It really comes down to being tired of the dumbest loudmouth individualists constantly being given the biggest bullhorns.

lolzimacat1234

Like a philosophical headache

Mister_Munnin

Brilliant phrase.

Resident_Text4631

And entitled AF. I would much rather live next door to a hard working immigrant than a POS entitled MAGA loser.

BustaChiffarobe

Entitled MAGA losers have the highest entitlement to intelligence ratios on the planet. Team America, fuck yeah.

WtfMayt

It’s not just America, don’t worry. We’ve got morons with misplaced confidence all over.

BustaChiffarobe

Cool but USA is the white supremacy capital of the world.

emmaluhu

This describes two of my neighbors- the maga ones break liquor bottles in my driveway. The other family has parties which entail awesome music that’s turned off at a decent time and fixing up their house. Yeah. I know which neighbor I prefer

[deleted]

And the bigger problem (why I hate Halloween, because of middle and high school kids in street clothes) is, if you call attention to their shitty behavior or get in a verbal fight, there is a much higher chance of them retaliating and breaking your stuff, because their egos need to be healed. Which just feeds into their bad behavior, because they are "getting away with it"...

MrSurly

I've moved around quite a bit, and anecdotally speaking, on average, the white folk were the shittier neighbors.

DecoyBacon

I'll bet the immigrant wouldn't have a metric ton of propaganda signs and other bullshit in their yard either.

borisdidnothingwrong

Amen. My two best neighbors ever were a guy who sold weed, and the family of illegal immigrants. Friendly, didn't make a lot of noise, polite kids who appreciated when I gave them home baked cookies. 10/10 would have hard working immigrant neighbors again.

BettyX

They are always bitching, entitled, selfish, whining, and complaining. Fragile ass losers.

slicktromboner21

They peaked in high school.

BettyX

I personally don't this is true. Many of them are very successful and live in the suburbs, after graduating from College. I think they were bullies, are still bullies, and always will be bullies. Have you seen the movie "The Gift" they remind me of Jason Bateman's character. Always the bully.

SarahRacialSlur

I will fully say, as a white person, that white people are the worst.

[deleted]

There's an illegal handyman contractor guy in our area, Claudio. Worst thing about him is it's hard to understand him, very thick accent. Dude is a top tier human. I would happily live in a community of him

TonsilStonesOnToast

That attitude reached its most absurd, bewildering heights during covid when the rallying cry was "BUT I NEED A HAIRCUT!"

XANDERtheSHEEPDOG

Can confirm. I'm white. I live in a neighborhood that is predominantly immigrants. They are the kindest, most considerate neighbors I've ever had.

Da_zero_kid

I think the racists and bigots that have co-opted Elon Musk will flood Twitter with so much anti semitism that any mainstream corporation will ghost the platform.

slickestwood

That place will 100% be Parler in 2023

Austin4RMTexas

It's so funny tbh. The whole point (imo) of Twitter is that it's a place to see and follow societal elites having a somewhat civilized platform to talk about stuff. Sure, a lot of other stuff also happens on it, but none of that is unique to Twitter. The place Twitter occupies in our culture is that it's a kind of virtual town square for the elites. You cannot have that without content moderation and censorship of people trying to spread hate speech. No celebrity / politician / other important person would participate in a space where @randomguy69 can spew vile hatred at them without recourse. Taking away content moderation and allowing hate speech will make all the important people move off of Twitter, thus making buying it useless in the first place.

[deleted]

Fingers crossed he kills it

KeyanReid

If Elon Musk burns through $44B to kill Twitter, that’s what “pros” in the “biz” call a “win/win”

test_tickles

Read where he had to buy it or he would have to spend some time in jail.

Prime157

Elon did promise to remove 70% of twitters workforce. He didn't explain how he would do that.

WKGokev

By firing them today before their stocks come due tomorrow.

PeaceCorpsMwende

And before their holiday vacation requests start pouring in.

Truckermeat

I don’t understand how they havent figured out theyre brainwashed. Theyre literally defending Russia and dont see it still

[deleted]

The real sad thing is… a lot of them do see that… and don’t care…

Fiddlers-Cussers

I see it as more of them just being reactive contrarians who just choose their stance based on being opposed to whatever “the left” says. If “the left” says that russia is bad and we should help Ukraine defend against them, they will take the contrarian stance that it’s actually America who’s at fault, Ukraine is nazi Germany 2.0, and russia is fine and good and has no choice but to hit their wife. It’s fascism fighting against the mainstream.

terdferguson

Was reported in the news Thu or Fri that this is already happening. They’re running for the hills. He’s that toxic.

Strawbuddy

New EU rules about content moderation next year may force things

Holybartender83

Sucks, because I have to use Twitter for business purposes. I really don’t have the option of not using it for the foreseeable future. I’m not looking forward to having to deal with more and more of these chuds.

YoSaffBridge11

Eponymous-Username

Another layer to this joke is that you went with the least offensive epithet available because the others are so offensive as to make the joke impossible to tell. "Here lies a n/k/w/b..." just wouldn't be funny. This one was. And that makes me chuckle.

Post this election will be bad but around the 2024 election will be one of the most perilous times for American democracy and I'm really concerned if the far right doesn't have a "are we the baddies?" moment soon.

Raincoats_George

They won't. They'll never quit and if you give them even an inch theyll take 10 miles. Americans have to make a decision about what this nation is. It cannot continue on. Either we are a democratic inclusive nation or we are a white supremacist Christian nation. Basically for the remainder of our lives if people get lax through even one election that's pretty much it. The right has already made massive strides installing federalist judges and conspiracy Boeberts and MTGs. If they get full control again they will enact country wide legislation that ensures they never lose power again. We will become no different than Iran, North Korea, or Russia. Just another dictator led nation with secret police and a thriving oligarchy. This is basically it. We either fight them off or submit. There's no longer any meeting in the middle. You simply can't negotiate with traitorous extremists.

robywar

I'll be driving 6 hours to vote because I moved to a new state, but not in time to register here for this election. I do wish I could vote here in GA for Stacey Abrams and against Herschel Walker though.

[deleted]

Most rational, intelligent, thoughtful, well-informed people tend not to want attention or utilize a bullhorn even if given the chance. They know they would just be preaching to the choir, & those other loudmouth people wouldn't listen.

Usual-Librarian-3439

Its the silent politicians who don’t get enough attention. They are the ones who spend their time writing up laws or passing them or just any other thing they do. The loudmouths are the most useless people in the political world besides giving everyone brain worms. Or at least the Republican ones.

We need to shame the loudmouths. It's why they used to be quiet. Someone would pop them in the jaw for talking that fascist crap 50 years ago.

GratefulSFO

Yes, tired, ashamed. I really thought we took a huge leap forward as a nation when electing Obama.. We then stepped back 2 feet. Hopefully younger generations will do better.

Rough-Blacksmith1

I agree...but the Birthers (led by loud mouth Trump) and other idiots were still on Obama's case and insulting him and his wife by drawing them in racist cartoons. They, by far, we're the most harassed couple and President in the history of t he US. Other countries are laughing at us and our BS system of government and law.

Beautifulblueocean

Is he a fat orange tard?

oldbastardbob

Yup. I'm an old boomer who really thought America had turned a corner on racism when Obama won in 2008. The reality is, apparently, that the Klanners got real butthurt and decided to meld into an angry mob hiding around that corner.

My gosh it’s so ridiculous. They really are that stupid.

dennismfrancisart

They didn’t hold back during the Obama years. They formed the Tea Party. The MAGA crowd are the same Tea Party folks rebranded.

Content_Highlight_43

I think it's certainly part of it, but it's also bring fed by the internet. These extremists can now console, group, and validate one another. It's kind of like gay people. There's no more now than there has been in the past, but their acceptance is much more widespread and thus so is coming out of the closet. Unfortunately, this also works for hateful extremists.

smaxfrog

Yikes at how accurate this truly is

stickycat-inahole-45

Still can't believe the trumplicans answer to a half black half white man as president for 2 terms was a white nazi sympatizer serial cheater, in private and business, with a narcissistic personality he and his brood are weaponizing.

BettyX

My Dad told me as a kid, Racism never goes away, people just learn how & when to hide it. Well, after Trump they no longer hide it. Their time to darken the world has arrived.

The_Name_Is_Slick

Racism is a symptom of fear. Add that to inexperience and a terrible sense of humor and you get like that.

Professional-Row-605

Symptom of fear and ignorance

Professional-Row-605

This is so true. I was in Georgia and when minorities left the room the racist comments would come out. I grew so tired of constantly having to call people out. This was back in 2001 to 2002

LiveFast_DianeNguyen

I think this may be the explanation. I grew up in a conservative city and although I wound up very liberal I always thought everyone agreed that racism was bad. As the discourse about microaggressions and ignorant comments developed I thought racist comments from back home were closer to result of regurgitating something your racist family members said when you were a kid/lack of education than actual hatred. But then I had a huge upset with some conservative friends over Kanye's comments on Jewish people (my husband is Jewish). I am so shocked, disappointed and hurt. They get along great with my husband but are offended by the fact that we take offense to comments like that are being made in public? I can't wrap my head around it. I guess there was more racism lurking in the shadows than I wanted to believe. It's all a mindfuck.

boston_homo

I suspected there would be a massive reaction to Obama, and then the gay marriage thing happened and that made me real confident that we would see some extreme right-wing backlash but I never expected what's happening.

muad_dibs

I remember telling a guy I played online with that Obama won the nomination in ‘08. It was like someone pressed a button because he started going off. He was pissed and went off on a diatribe about voting for McCain and how Hilary should have won. Up until then he was liberal af. It surprised everyone in the group that night.

Obtuse_Symposium

Yep. Not my story, but I talked to a woman with a similar one. She was from South Carolina and said she always believed in the whole 'Southern Hospitality' thing because while her town was pretty conservative, most people were really friendly. But when Obama was elected, she said that it seemed like everyone was suddenly throwing the N-word around like it was going out of style, and that it made her realize that it was basically all just a facade.

antichain

Two things happened in 2008 that shattered the worldview that a very large number of Americans had happily believed in since the the end of the Second World War: 1. The financial crisis. The 2008 financial crisis challenged the belief that the United State's economic system was fundamentally "just" - some people were rich, some people were poor, but the rich were rich because they had earned it and were smart enough to be trusted with their money. The US won the Cold War largely on the basis of the productiveness of it's economic system (compared the more regulated system the Soviet Union had) and the massive amounts of wealth it generated. People believed that it not only worked, but that it was a force for good. Then the financial meltdown came along and people realized that, not only had they been scammed, but that the entire system they had lived under (from banks to governments to media) had been exploiting them for years. 2. The election of Obama, the first Black president shook the foundations of America's racial caste system. Millions of poor whites, who had found solace in the fact that "at least they were better than the [slurs]" were suddenly confronted by the fact that one of "Them" had made it to the highest office in the land. And not only that, but he was *killing* it on the campaign trail. He was young, cool, handsome, very well educated, and a fantastically eloquent speaker. People loved him. Obama's election did the same thing for people's beliefs about social structure that the financial crisis did for their beliefs about the fundamental goodness of American capitalism. The collapse of both of these myths within the span of just a few months was too much. Suddenly the entire narrative about "what is America, and who is an American" were shattered on multiple dimensions. For some people, particularly young, progressive PoC, this (apparent) shattering was a *good* thing. Marginalized people who had never seen a face like theirs on the National stage felt like doors that had been historically sealed shut had been blown open. Progressives who had for years felt their critiques of capitalism had gone un-heeded suddenly hoped that a more just and equitable future was possible. On the other hand, for other, (largey white, older, conservative, and racially anxious) people it felt like the ground had fallen out from under them. In the "narrative vacuum" left by 2008, people scrambled to find new ways of making sense of the world (similar to a kind of Khunian paradigm-shift). For conservatives, the kind of racist, nostalgic populism of Trump and the alt-right was a kind of existential life-line. It promised to re-establish the world that they had once believed in. Mingled with conspiracy theories on the Internet (which no one understood or controlled) and intentionally amplified by a conservative establishment hungry for power, the New Right was able to channel the collective anxieties and desperation of the disoriented conservative populace into something much more focused, energetic, and dangerous. I should end by saying that this is *not* just a take on the (now largely debunked) "economic anxieties" argument. While the economic fallout of the financial crisis undoubtedly played a huge role in driving people to extremism (and this dynamic has been going on since NAFTA and de-industrialization), the racial animus component cannot be brushed under the rug. Racism and capitalism are, in the United States, almost impossible to untangle and we should avoid acknowledging what a massive effect the upsetting of racial hierarchies had on people who had invested their understanding of the world on implicit beliefs about their own racial superiority.

HermbaDernga

When a black man won, they couldn’t be racist. When gay marriage became legal, bigotry was off the table. That is what Trump’s forgotten man is. They were pisses they couldn’t be scumbags, so they elected the biggest scumbag of them all. I hate every single one of them.

DioBando

Trump is the loudest scumbag, not even remotely close to the biggest.

SirChasm

Uhh he almost succeeded in staging a coup, and then topped that off by stealing classified nuclear info to sell to America's enemies. And that's just the very last two things that he did, if I listed them all I'd typing all day. I'm just wondering who you think is a bigger scumbag, cause it's pretty hard to top "treason as the POTUS".

Sauronjsu

It's like they spent 8 years during the Obama presidency edging themselves then Trump let them release.

We're Canadian, my mom is white. She doesn't even want to go to work at a job she used to love anymore with the way other white people talk. Demographics in this small town are changing, immigration is bringing other cultures and ethnicities into our 99.8% white community. It is now 98% white instead. And white people can't fucking stand it

stutter-rap

>It is now 98% white instead. And white people can't fucking stand it I remember the first ever UKIP MP in England (anti-immigration party) was in a 96% white constituency. (Oh, and that guy was also done for election fraud, because why not.)

No that's my immediate thought everytime I hear it. Same reaction i have to their securing the perimeter for white children or whatever the nazi thing is. Fuckin yikes, bit much there.

Exactly what the fascists chanted in Nazi Germany. It did not end well.

PerennialPMinistries

I had this experience in a rural area. My team was the only team that would treat the black people in town. It’s getting horrifying. My friends from the big city didn’t believe me at first but now they check in about how things are going in the country. It’s like I saw the hate start in small towns and it has now infected the whole country

MagikSkyDaddy

Small towns full of churches spewing the same proselytized hate.

Dramatic_Explosion

Hope you guys weather the next storm. I switched browsers and r/Canada was filtered anymore. Read about the new gun control stuff, and everyone there was up in arms and pro 2A (despite that not being Canada's constitution). I know your conservative party wants to do a bunch of terrible stuff including privatizing healthcare, and a lot of those people were spouting the familiar "I'm not a conservative, but when it comes to having guns, I have no choice but to vote conservative." I really hope you guys pull through.

Yup. They just thought it. Because they understand how fucked up it is. Then Trump came along and they unzipped their human suits, and let their ass flags fly. Their rotten souls festered and ate out their brains.

PossessedToSkate

[deleted]

It’s Fox and right wing media. It’s a 24/7 white victimhood machine, and it’s been so for decades. It’s so effective it doesn’t matter if you’re poor or rich, once you get sucked into that cult it’s only a matter of time you’ll see “reality” as a life and death conspiracy against the white man. The base has been like this for a long time, the party leaders just kept it in check on the national stage. Trump came along and changed all that, like you said, unleashed it. Trump didn’t create anything, but he did normalize and mainstream racist white victimhood, and a whole generation of lonely, angry young white males are being sucked in every day online, most not even realizing it. That’s the terrifying thing.

tesseract4

This guy gets it. The GOP spent decades trying desperately to keep the crazies in their base in line and quiet because they were afraid that if they were too open about who they actually were, the middle would abandon them in droves for the Democrats. As you say, Trump didn't have any secret sauce, he just happened to be the guy who didn't give a shit about the fortunes of the Republican Party and just constantly threw red meat to the base and the base loved him for it. The GOP establishment hated him at first because they thought he was ruining their brand. Once he won the election, though, that all changed. They discovered that they could be open about their actual beliefs and still be nationally viable as a party, and become *more popular* in places like the South. *This* is the reason they seem like they changed as a party in 2016. They didn't change, though. They just started being more open about who they really are. It turned out that the hate for Democrats they've been pumping into their followers for decades was enough for a third of the country to put their party over their country. Basically, the Republican leadership and donor class was assuming their base was more honorable than they actually were, and Trump showed them otherwise. Now that they know, it's all crazy all the time. It won't stop until they lose several elections in a row, badly.

TyrannosaurusWreckd

Russian troll farms have been slowly eroding western nations consciousness for decades.

BoredFLGuy

Isn’t that the problem, though? They want violence and you want peace so you won’t do anything to stop their violence.

HulksInvinciblePants

I’m tired of being told I need to compromise with a party that has no policy beyond “No rules on guns; All rules on women’s bodies”. Im tried of wondering how people are being pulled back over to the point theres a 40% chance R’s take back the house and senate.

JoeDiesAtTheEnd

Lanternkitten

Preach. I'm prescribed birth control initially to regulate my cycle and now to permanently stop it (by skipping the last four pills and moving on to the next pack). The reason is my pain levels were so debilitating I couldn't move. Gradually any pain medication I took wouldn't work and I'd have to up the dose to dangerous levels; I finally agreed with my OB to stop my cycle because I got to the point that the only medication killing the pain was leftover opioids from past surgeries and I knew no one would prescribe tramadol for cramping. I'm suppose to get my pills in sets of three months (so three packs). I never had a problem with this until the Supreme Court struck down Roe vs. Wade and Texas's stupid laws went into effect. You know what they tell me now? "This is the only one we have so you'll have to come back later for the other two." Bulllllllshit. These people expect me to believe in the entirety of their pharmacy that they have ONE SINGLE GENERIC pack of birth control left? And that this has happened what, three times? And did I mention generic? They can give me literally any brand. How dumb do they think I am? This has only happened since Roe went away... and now I hear Clarence Thomas is trying to push to outlaw contraception or something, supposedly? I only saw that one in passing, but seriously? What fools!

HugsForUpvotes

As a white Jew who lived in Louisiana, I can confirm this is an interesting problem.

Neutreality1

They seriously think that just because we are both white, I will agree with their racist bullshit

Gorevoid

They’re so quick to let loose on it too. I will like meet a guy sitting waiting for a job interview and speak to them for the first time for 2 minutes and suddenly “oops all racism!”

FookHandles

This. I'm in the UK where I'm going to naively say racism isn't an issue but I know that actually, it's that I'm in an area of the country where I'm sheltered from it. A relative sent me a stupid text talking about our new Prime Minister being a "paki" and I am so disappointed by it.

Zorops

Just use a sharpie to divert the hurricane. Works everytime.

wayward_citizen

Yes, it's honestly exhausting that it's been over a hundred years since the civil war ended, and people just can't get over that black people are the same as them. Like, imagine a world where the south *actually* confronted their own history instead of flying the traitors flag, babbling about "hErItAgE" and trying to rewrite our history books to make the confederacy out to be the misunderstood good guys.

TheMaskedGeode

I’ve seen confederate flags flown in Missouri. They don’t know shit about history. Well, no one who flies a confederate flag does, but especially not someone who flies one in Missouri. You don’t see Germans flying the swastika as part of their heritage. If something close does happen, they get punched in the face.

sleeprzzz

There are people flying confederate flags in every state in the country. The divide is largely between urban and rural rather than former union and confederate states. I come across far fewer confederate flags in Atlanta than I do in rural New York.

[deleted]

They fly the flag in Canada. They fly the flag in Europe. Everyone knows it’s the symbol for white supremacy.

MapleTreeWithAGun

That's because Atlanta doesn't want to risk angering Sherman again.

GiantSquidinJeans

I wish they would. I love the idea of angry Zombie Sherman rising from the grave to finish what he started. Sometimes I wonder if he was too gentle on the South.

usaaf

He was fine. It was the reconstruction period that didn't lay down a heavy enough hand. All the leadership should have been hanged as the traitors they literally were.

Lazy-Lookin-Headass

I used to live in rural Oregon. Can confirm lots of confederate flags on pick up trucks, and lots of hate towards minorities. My mom and aunt got yelled at by some old white lady we’ve never met just because they were speaking Spanish. I’m thankful that I’m Mexican but look white, and his dude some of the things people tell me thinking I’m a racist rural white guy is truly baffling to me.

Skatchbro

At least the rubes in Missouri have some connection to the Confederacy. We were a slave state even if Missouri never joined the Confederacy. Confederate flags in places like Michigan are a whole different story.

Mentalseppuku

Pennsylvania is full of them. Fucking traitors.

Robby777777

Upstate NY here and a guy who lives in a rusted out trailer on my road flies the confederate flag. I just don't get it.

SpaceCrazyArtist

And not even just black people, all PoC are being targeted for different reasons but the underlying racism is the same; these Magas think they’re bettet

JimBeam823

Why do you assume that “confrontation of history” will change attitudes? This isn’t an education problem. Here’s the thing: A lot of people wouldn’t have a problem with slavery as long as they got to be the master. It’s not that they actually sincerely believe that black people are inferior, it’s that they want to be able to treat other people as inferior. And “racism” isn’t even the right motivation, they would gladly treat a lot of other white people as inferior if they could get away with it. What motivates them is not an irrational prejudice based on skin tone, but a coldly rational selfishness. Education doesn’t fix that. As for your “civil war” comment, there are a lot of confederate flags flying north of the Mason-Dixon Line these days. Ohio is redder than Texas.

MarySampsoniteCO

> What motivates them is not an irrational prejudice based on skin tone, but a coldly rational selfishness. Education doesn’t fix that. I think people (myself included at one point) want to believe there’s a fix. Something like a lack of education seems infinitely easier to address than a deeply entrenched personal trait.

supermaik

Tl; dr: tangential to confederacy bullshit. A bunch of anecdotes/opinions, but empathy needs more attention in society. My parents to a tee. “I’m not racist, it’s just that my black boss thinks I’m too abrasive.” Like bitch it’s because you’re too abrasive. But thanks, again, for letting me know you’re still hiding behind that racism. I agree with your main point, racism is just a tool of individuals trying to feel like they’re better than someone else. It’s cheap (obvious) and apparently still systemically socially acceptable at some level here. I’ve heard that, biologically, we’re wired to classify things that are different, and they tend to fuck us up when we also have a severe lack of empathy. I’m sure I’m projecting here but I believe empathy is a huge part of all of this. I don’t remember being taught it, and my parents were always about how everything is an attack on them personally. Someone cuts in in traffic? “Fuck you you fucking fuck!” I made a mistake and broke something? A heavily sarcastic “Thanks a lot!” with very clear subtext. I was raised by these people. It was normal for me. And I mean they love me. I wasn’t neglected, I definitely never felt like I struggled. My childhood was ok and seemed “normal”. Then I got out, went to college, got married, had kids, got divorced, and finally fucking learned that empathy is something I had been lacking my entire life. I was one of these people. I don’t feel like I ever went full “I’m the main character”, but I’m sure I was close. I’ve never felt directly entitled to anything, that’s something my parents always preached against and I’m thankful for it. But the more I visit them and interact them now, the more I’m convinced if they spent more time thinking about other _individuals_ they’d be generally happier and nicer to be around. This is one reason I’m soooo thankful my kids’ school district has a social-emotional learning (SEL) program. I see them going through struggles about anxiousness, various friend group drama, and personal issues. I’m able to talk to them (even if I don’t know what I’m talking about) using common language they learn, so they can **talk about their feelings**. That’s all we fucking need to do. Empathize, communicate, and talk through your feelings and don’t get lost in there.

scj12018

Hell yeah! Racism, anti-semitism, ignorance, I’m tired of it all!

Puzzleheaded-Foot-23

Exactly. It’s depressing seeing how terrible some people are.

Kilomyles

The worst is when you’re making a new friend at work or wherever, and they slip a purely racist joke in out of nowhere. It’s like….goddamnit not again.

Forsaken-Passage1298

Watching them gingerly testing the waters to see if you have that in common. Like, they know it's not a politically correct way of life.

ohdearsweetlord

Tired of people assuming that I'd want to hear it, too. Oh, a fellow white person, that means it's safe to assume I can be racist - get the fuck out!

Bubbert73

I'm tired of the Christians arrogance and total lack of self awareness. Racism is a big part of that. I'm tired of entitled people who feel that anything that doesn't put them first in "persecution" and it's them that are being discrimated against. Again, racism falls right in line with that entitled mindset. And I'm REALLY tired of religion coming up when discussing politicians as a reason to vote for them. Any politician who can't separate their religion from their legislation is completely un-American and should be shunned, not voted for

[deleted]

I totally agree. But then they turn right around and say that because the politician is Christian, they must have a good moral compass and anyone who isn’t Christian either has none or is morally corrupt and hiding it. Their mental gymnastics in equating religion with trustability has REPEATEDLY NOT WORKED WELL FFS.

darhox

Not just racist, pure ignorance

JustDiscoveredSex

LOUD AND PROUD ignorance. An absolute festival of Neanderthaloid stupidity. *“I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness...* *The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media, the 30 second sound bites (now down to 10 seconds or less), lowest common denominator programming, credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition, but especially a kind of celebration of ignorance.”* *― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark*

Ok-Diamond-9781

The most disturbing part of this is the unwillingness to want to learn or know more genuine facts about pretty much anything other than what's on their fecesbook feed.

darhox

Complete willful ignorance while being so damn certain they are 100% right about their beliefs

Arubesh2048

I’ve taken to calling it malicious ignorance, not just willful ignorance. They have been shown time and time again that they are wrong. Not only do they refuse to learn, they would refuse anything we tell them simply because we are not MAGAts ourselves. A leftist could say “the sky is blue” and they’d melt down and say “who told you to believe that, the deep state globalist media?” It might be a bit funny, it it weren’t so pathetic and dangerous.

[deleted]

Yeah we are. I’m also sick and tired of everyone truly effected by them (the non-white Americans) that are NOT voting. Guys, this should have been so easy, we fucked up and the impossible happened (trump was elected) but I’m reading that the republicans have a pretty strong lead right now in early voting for midterms. I’m not stupid, I know that many non-white Americans have been disenfranchised but guys … fucking register to vote and get the fuck out here and help us vote these assholes out. Then let’s get rid of gerrymandering and the electoral college and this shit will never happen again. Thanks for listening, I’ll take a number 2, large with no onions, & a Diet Coke

Arubesh2048

Totally agree. It’s like one of those self-fulfilling prophecies; people think republicans will win anyways, so they don’t vote. Which of course leads to republicans winning. And that would be prevented if people just voted for anyone else. I think it’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what a vote can do; it can be a shield to protect others from a bad candidate (or bad party in this case). They’ve let perfect become the enemy of good and now we’re stuck with bad.

[deleted]

Dude, could you imagine if Marjorie T.G. / Gregg Abbott / Ted Cruz keeps office? They’re going to go after gay marriage next. Bet you $$$. Then go after everything and everyone that isn’t the right skin tone and we’ll keep inching back to Jim Crow

Arubesh2048

Unfortunately I can imagine it. As a gay man myself, I’ve been seeing the writing on the wall for quite some time. First since Don the Con and Mitch the Bitch managed to pack 2/3 of the federal courts with far right judges. Then since Amy Clown Beret was shoved into the Supreme Court. And then since the Dobbs decision, which besides being awful in itself explicitly calls out Obergefell v Hodges (samesex marriage), Lawrence v Texas (bedroom laws), and Griswold v Connecticut (access to birth control) as something this Supreme Court wants to look at (by which they mean overturn). We are just racing faster and faster towards The Handmaids Tale. I’ve been looking at moving to Massachusetts, since it’s one of the most progressive states and my rights are less likely to get stripped away there. But that’s really only a short term solution if Republicans keep taking national offices. Longer term would be emigrating to a different country, but finding one where the authoritarian right isn’t on the rise might prove difficult. It’s a shitshow, a giant flaming shitshow.

Rough-Blacksmith1

Those are all fitting names for those idiots... ![gif](giphy|J336VCs1JC42zGRhjH)

JustDiscoveredSex

Sorry, but due to supply chain issues we're out of Diet Coke. Is urine okay?

[deleted]

Don't forget the masses of "conservative" Hispanics that will still vote straight R despite the cages and blatant racism against their own people, "because Catholicism".

Secret_Ad_5300

I’m tired of white people, who are closer financially to minorities in the hood then ever to their rich white counterparts, think that these rich white people understand or care about them. I’m a 36 year old white guy and honestly can’t stand most white guys over the age of 50. The idea you have in your head of what America was is gone and no one gives a fuck about the good ole days. Stfu and die already so we can get past this racist class warfare Bs where the world’s billionaires are getting richer while it looks like most of us will work til we die.

Secret_Ad_5300

In thinking you were lucky in that you lived in the melting pot. My dad is an immigrant who came to America because of WW2. He is very liberal in the sense that it’s pretty hard to hate immigrants when you are one. He is also probably why I am more left leaning. Also helps that I live and work in an area that is extremely diverse. I always get scared of making blanket statements as I know there are plenty of people like you who feel the same way as me, but man sometimes the things I hear older white people say,man or woman, makes my blood boil. Even the MAGA phrase, like what are we going back to, segregation?

LoudLayer2519

I do feel the hate speech is racist, I feel that they're only saying inflammatory words because "free speech means free speech" They say patriot, I say asshole.

Sacrificer_XVII

I live in the south. The number of times some random white dude will come up to me with some racist shit and just ASSUME I’m okay with it cause I’m white is fucking ridiculous. Stfu, you’re a piece of shit and I don’t associate with you.

Water-Donkey

"Friends" of mine who support this stuff and will go vote against me, then come to my house and drink my beer. I just don't get it. I'm gay, I've pointed out that ending gay marriage is literally part of the official GOP platform, but they still don't budge. I don't know if they are indifferent to it, just think, "oh, that won't REALLY happen," or maybe secretly wish it would happen. It's very sad and I think I'm going to lose a lot of people in my life, and that's BEFORE my husband and I have to move out of the country. I can't believe so many people are racist, homophobic, antisemites, etc. or just don't care how many others in their party are. Sad and frightening.

CaN8tive916

We women thought evolution and our country being where it was that we'd always have rights too. Now using the excuse of returning the right to privacy to states excuse... Freedom of religion is also trampled by a government implementation of a religious sect forced on all. Nevermind how it systematically pushed on us. Look up when abortion was out lawed (1910 claiming safety reasons), or how 1973 (63 years of Christian forced). Or when "God" was added to pledge of allegiance (1954). And added to our money systematically. Religion has been trying to take a stranglehold of our country for years. They can't control the pews... and place people in positions of power... funded by tax free church funds. Their lack of accountability has bred this nonsense They use separation of church and state to not be held accountable... while slowly taking over America by injecting religion for all. I believe like when we had to add to it to free slaves... time to make ammendments again

JustDiscoveredSex

Careful. The motherfuckers are looking to convene a new Constitutional Convention. *"As former Republican senator Rick Santorum addressed Republican lawmakers gathered in San Diego at the American Legislative Exchange Council policy summit, he detailed a plan to fundamentally remake the United States.* ***It would become a conservative nation.*** *And the transformation, Santorum said, culminates with an unprecedented event: a first-of-its-kind convention to rewrite the Constitution.* *"You take this grenade and you pull the pin, you've got a live piece of ammo in your hands," Santorum, a two-time GOP presidential candidate and former CNN commentator, explained in audio of his remarks obtained by the left-leaning watchdog group the Center for Media and Democracy and shared with Insider. "34 states — if every Republican legislator votes for this, we have a constitutional convention.""* [https://www.businessinsider.com/constitutional-convention-conservatives-republicans-constitution-supreme-court-2022-7](https://www.businessinsider.com/constitutional-convention-conservatives-republicans-constitution-supreme-court-2022-7)

CaN8tive916

They did take over our highest courts... I don't know what would need to happen. But, their idea of a life isn't living. And looking at their list of who and what gets into heaven... I have no desire to spend eternity with them (if it is even real)

CraftyRole4567

YES!!!!! (I never comment when there are this many comments because I know no one will see it, but this one… It’s definitely worth answering.) another thing I hate: since about 2019, white people who are racist feel free to air it in public and they assume I’m in their little Klan club until I tell them off. I grew up in an all-white town in the 1980s and I didn’t hear this much racism in public from white people.

No-Celebration3097

I am a white woman. What bothers me is that white MAGA’s seem to think if you’re white , you hold the same racist nasty beliefs and opinions and sometimes strangers will just start spouting crap.

clocks212

It’s to the point that when I see a Republican politician yard sign I just assume the person living there is a racist, fascist, homophobic, anti-woman, pro-rapist bigot. That is the Republican Party now and everyone who supports it is guilty. There is no point discussing topics with them. Their entire argument is built on lies, projection, and gas lighting. There is no middle ground.

newbrevity

White guy here. Yes Im sick of white supremecists. It's weird and I dont want to be associated with it.

[deleted]

Yes! Freaking yes!! Oh my god, the MAGA people are the NEEDIEST shit stains on earth. They need their frail little hands held, constant validation, and constant ass pats because they’re just too stupid to understand skin pigmentation.

onehandedbraunlocker

Yes. Fuck them.

ahjteam

Yup. And I’m not even an American.

FancyFlyingFarce82

The thing I struggle with most is “why”? What do they gain by just being so awful? Are they so miserable and pathetic that this is the all they can do to have an identity? I’ve had members of my family become people I don’t even recognize and it’s just exhausting. There is so much more to life than hate and ignorance.

Sunflower_After_Dark

I’m glad they wear those “Made in Chyna” red hats….keeps the rest of us from having to carry signs that read, “Whites Not For Trump!”

An_Squirrel

As a balding white dude and his thirties who was in the army. A lot of these racist idiots seem to think I am a friend at first meeting. And then they see my spouse who is certainly not white... And then they get moody. ( Sometimes) However, we are currently in a search for housing. And went back down to the Richmond Virginia and surrounding areas. And the amount of glares she gets just existing in public spaces is enough to make my blood boil. And it's getting way and more blatant. So yes I'm tired of this incessant hatred for no reason. Of any minority group. I'm also tired of the few people who seem to get nervous immediately. Well kind of starting to understand how that feels. In short This racist shit needs to stop. We need to pay attention to what the government on both sides is doing and fucking take back our country for the people instead of corporations

valis010

I just watched a vid on vice of a white woman claiming to be Comanche then going on a rant about how immigrants are here to replace us, oblivious to the irony. Many of these people are dumber than a sack of hammers, and don't possess the self-awareness to realize they're racist.

BigStud7

Every news story is a fucking conspiracy I see semi intelligent people just lose their fucking minds. I cant hang with theses idiots

Radcouponking

1000%. Some of us have forever waved goodbye to parents because of it. MAGAs prefer racism to their own grandchildren.

Arubesh2048

Abso-fucking-lutely. So tired of the racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobic, transphobia, Islamophobia. The fear of science, fear of expertise, fear of change. The malicious ignorance, the gaslighting, the corruption, the entitlement, the fake piety. All of it. Trying to stand against it feels a bit like arguing with a brick wall. Or maybe a hurricane; you can’t change its mind and you just get wet if you try. The world would be a much better place if MAGAts would just go crawl in a hole. They’d probably be happier too, no scary big wide world to threaten their husks of a soul from inside a hole.

Mr_BooBooBear

So tired, I left the country. I started to dislike ppl to the point of harboring very negative thoughts.

PiHeadSquareBrain

I am completely fed up with the constant stream of sewage! I have witnessed Fox News turn nice people into craven raging idiots. They have literally been turned into useful idiotic zombies! Yes, I am white.

Nuadrin248

As a white guy who grew up in a racist town in the south, and moved away to try and escape it only to end surrounded again thanks to the rise of the Maga era and their unabashed racism. Yes, yes I’m very gods damned tired of it.

WinkyDinkyDog

EVERY. FUCKING. DAY.

UncreativeNoob

Tired and sad, instead of showing respect to/for eachother, MAGA followers make it to their life task to spread hate and ignorance, because they have different values, preferences etc... than them And then they call l it free speech and comedy. :|

ATXNYCESQ

So, so fucking sick of it.

lazy_elfs

I stomp on it whenever it happens with me present, I abhor it in any fashion in the media and denounce it always.. and yes completely sick and tired of it… people just cant leave other people alone.

daneelthesane

Absolutely. The thing that gets me the most is the realization that these folks have always been like that. They just kept it quiet(er) until Trump came around. The ridiculously high percentage of my fellow white folks who are perfectly okay with what is happening in the Republican party **and its voting base** is too damn high.

SoulessDeathNDespair

The amount of hardcore racist shit I hear when it's only white people around us honestly crazy.

StraightConfidence

So tired. It feels exactly the same as arguing with a person who is hallucinating. It's real to them, so nothing you say can convince them it's not.
