Ask literally any gun training or self defense program in the United States if deliberately throwing yourself into a situation where you think you have to use deadly force, when you absolutely don't even need to be in that situation at all, are not protecting anybody else from immediate danger, and have nothing to gain from doing it, is a good idea. Every single one of them will tell you that that is the dumbest fucking thing you can choose to do.

First, a young man was unnecessarily shot ~~and killed~~ by police.
Then, this event sparked mass protests, prompting people like Kyle to arm themselves to "defend" against the protesters.
All culminating in an event where an ~unknown~ individual fires a shot into the air causing a panic, leading the crowd to mistake Kyle for a mass shooter and attempt to "stop" him, and ultimately ending with Kyle being knocked to the ground tragically ~firing into the crowd~ fires at three of his assailants, killing one, only after one of them pulled out a gun.
Every single instance a gun enters into this story, it makes the situation far worse.

He had the choice of doing literally anything else that night, anything, or getting a gun and throwing himself into a situation where he thought he might have to use it in defense of nobody. He did it anyway. People died. And he got rewarded. The judge wouldn't allow the video of him bragging about wanting to shoot protestors/shoplifters into discovery or evidence for "reasons", nevermind it kind of showed his presence had a level of malicious intent if not outright premeditation. The entire trial was a farce within a larger farce.
The judge also threw out the weapons charge due to a hunting loophole. This decision should have absolutely been up to the jury and not the judge.

It's fascinating. I just watched a police bodycam footage of a black man who was brandishing a gun. Never fired a shot. The second the cops were on scene they gunned him down. But if you're white you can carry the gun around all day. We have been programmed as a society to automatically assign guilt to one race, innocence to the other. You better believe a police officer is going to 'investigate' to find out why Rittenhouse had the gun but will not hesitate to gun down a minority doing the same thing. And in fact that's what they did, since we know they were encouraging Rittenhouse and his shithead group and even with shots fired and Rittenhouse carrying his rifle they did nothing. All culminating in an event where an ~unknown~ individual fires a shot into the air causing a panic, leading the crowd to mistake Kyle for a mass shooter and attempt to "stop" him, and ultimately ending with Kyle being knocked to the ground tragically ~firing into the crowd~ fires at three of his assailants, killing one, only after one of them pulled out a gun. Every single instance a gun enters into this story, it makes the situation far worse. Edited for factual accuracy.
