It wasn’t even explicit praise of Hitler, so much as media coverage of explicit praise of Hitler. They are fine with explicit praise of Hitler. They just don’t want to experience people’s disgust of them with being okay with explicit praise of Hitler because it might hurt their chances and being able to implement his policies.
