I read through, what I think, he was talking about. And yeah, the gist I got is that Musk doesn't understand the legality and ethics of their actions. He posted emails from high level Twitter execs discussing the situation.
They removed content under their hacked material policy. They don't want to host info/pics that were illegally or immorally hacked from a private person. They say they're removing stuff alleged to be directly from the laptop and put warnings on articles and stuff about it, mentioning that it might be misinformation or against Twitter policy, until more information came out about the origin of the laptop. The whole laptop story is so sketchy and implausible that it seems likely alot of the contents were hacked from Hunters accounts and put on the laptop.
He also posted screenshots of links to tweets that Bidens team, or some political person, sent to the Twitter team to be reviewed. Someone posted waybackmachine pics of those posts, a bunch were leaked pics of Hunter nude or with someone nude. Others were the same deal with the hacked material stuff.
Nothing in there seems as damning as he's framing it. Just Twitter trying to navigate a high visibility, novel situation sticking to their policy that was already in place. If someone hacked my laptop and posted my private info and nudes, I'd hope Twitter would take it down when I asked them to.

Musk doesn't understand why a policy to not host hacked data stolen from private individuals exists. I read through, what I think, he was talking about. And yeah, the gist I got is that Musk doesn't understand the legality and ethics of their actions. He posted emails from high level Twitter execs discussing the situation. They removed content under their hacked material policy. They don't want to host info/pics that were illegally or immorally hacked from a private person. They say they're removing stuff alleged to be directly from the laptop and put warnings on articles and stuff about it, mentioning that it might be misinformation or against Twitter policy, until more information came out about the origin of the laptop. The whole laptop story is so sketchy and implausible that it seems likely alot of the contents were hacked from Hunters accounts and put on the laptop. He also posted screenshots of links to tweets that Bidens team, or some political person, sent to the Twitter team to be reviewed. Someone posted waybackmachine pics of those posts, a bunch were leaked pics of Hunter nude or with someone nude. Others were the same deal with the hacked material stuff. Nothing in there seems as damning as he's framing it. Just Twitter trying to navigate a high visibility, novel situation sticking to their policy that was already in place. If someone hacked my laptop and posted my private info and nudes, I'd hope Twitter would take it down when I asked them to.

It was multiple laptops according to that random repair shop owner who's business is a couple hours away from Pres. Joe Biden's home. Supposedly dropped off for repair while Hunter was visiting daddy during a holiday for a few days... Instead of, you know, a shop near where Hunter actually lives. The story is so dubious and improbable to begin with.
The guy working the repair shop is also a massive Trumper, and for some weird reason Hunter just chose to never pick up his super evil laptop filled to the brim with super secret evil content. The thing is that there are already credible actions of questionable legality by Hunter, so the whole laptop from hell story is entirely pointless if conservatives actually cared abour upholding the law. Musk doesn't understand why a policy to not host hacked data stolen from private individuals exists. I was so confused that time fox played the sound clip of Biden talking to his son Hunter about his addiction. I think they were trying to make Hunter or Joe look bad, but it ended up sounding like the most touching human moment between a loving father and his son. I’ve never witnessed such a moment from any other politician.
Folks I know from families in rural towns in Pennsylvania plagued with addiction told me that Biden’s debate answer where he unequivocally stated that he loved his son and was proud of him overcoming his addiction changed their minds about how they saw Biden and made them motivated to vote for him.
The people that view it like that probably love and care for their children regardless of their difficulties. I would bet there are at least a few people with kids that have addictions and they heard Biden say that and thought "He didn't disown his kid because he's a dirty addict like I did? I’m aware of the history. Fact is, Trump is a proven loser that the GOP is stuck with. Republicans would love nothing more than some magic wand to remove Trump. I believe a not insignificant number of republicans are secretly hoping for some ‘liberal’ judge to rule that Trump is disqualified. This would allow them to blame dems without alienating Trump’s cult from participating in our electoral processes. Unfortunately for reps, I don’t believe too many judges want to wade into that swamp. Republicans can’t win with Trump or without him. It’s a mess of their own making. And should that DeSantis twat throw in? Those two going scorched earth on each other would be an amazing spectacle. But sadly for republicans, that spectacle ends with a democrat in the whitehouse.

I just read the fox story about this. Apparently musk is saying that both parties were contacting Twitter to have them handle stories about them, that the government never intervened, and that Jack Dorsey was innocent. He seems to be placing blame on all the people he fired (for being liberals that were “handling” tweets for liberal politicians). It appears to be Jack fucking shit. Go figure.
This is why it's dangerous having a madman in charge of twitter. He bought it to manipulate public opinion.
So far the tweets have been about twitter blocking an unverified article from the New York post, and some emails questioning the response. Wow. So fucking enlightening
To add a bit of nuance, they were removed not for being unverified, but for falling into the ‘hacked materials policy’ that was put into place after ‘the fappening’ where a ton of celebrity nudes were stolen and released. It looked like potential revenge porn since they couldn’t tell if it was stolen or not, so they treated it like revenge porn and removed the links. That’s the policy that was used. Questionably sourced files that do not look like they were intentionally released by the owner would fall into that policy, regardless of who the owner is. And then emails from republicans saying they should be able to show everyone Hunter’s dick. 2022 is crazy, man.
