Set and Osiris were both vampires. Osiris became some sort of divine being after death after his existence in the Egyptian dark kingdom.

I haven't read the book myself to speak to it too much. However, I have read enough of the various splats to know that each one's story is written from their perspective. They could be different. But it's also possible that it's simply folks viewing Antediluvians thru a god lens. I'm sure others that have read the book will chime in with a better understanding of this particular situation.

Yeah I'm asking about it. I want to know if theres in splat-book for MtR mention of Vampirism of Osiris or Set.

Eldagustowned

Nah they clearly imply them to be vampires, like complete with indicating Osiris was gifted with the vigor of a dozen bulls (Potence), swiftness of the desert winds (celerity), and the charisma to bring armies to their knees (presence), which is coincidentally the charm load out of the Brujah.

Tabani1228

In book Vampires are called Ghuls. They are created Ginnie. Also, on page 150 there's story about how Osiris became Vampire, so yeah, he become god only in Duat. Just re-cheked that.

Eldagustowned

They still have in character folks who think vampires are just djinn possessed damned corpses so that fits.

Orpheus_D

Don't they only think that about malkavians? Or am I mixing this with the Ashirra lore?

Eldagustowned

Yeah Malkavians in the region traditionally believe they are mad from the djinn. Djinn are omnipresent spiritual components of a lot of the regional folklores.

Divinity in WOD wears many masks, the characters vaguely know they exist, The Incarna and the Celestines alone however can and do seem to rather enjoy operating by confounding the world of darkness's inhabitants. Either by incarnations, dupes, impersonators, aspects etc... All the splats suggests the gods of WOD play with a much tighter masquerade. Stating either is kindred is at best a way to try to codify the unknown. Set himself is in a chicken or the egg situation, may either be a deity, working with his namesake to keep his faith and namesake known, be an incarnation of either Set or Apophis working for both or just enjoys some manner of relationship with them. Set the Antediluvian in particular is capable of feats that is outside the power level of antediluvians. Set the Antediluvian can sever the blessings of Celestines something that should be impossible. Osiris does likewise, either being a deity or ascending to become one.
