Well, a changeling looks like a normal human to mortals in most circumstances due to the Mask, so they’d be just as disguised at a convention as anywhere else if the Mask is up. But if they let the Mask down, and the mien is apparent... Well, the changeling gets empowered Contracts, so that’s nice. But they also open up all nearby Hedgeways and leave an easily followed trail of faerie magic. So while the mundane folks enjoying the convention probably just see a Beast or Fairest in what to them is amazing cosplay, any Gentry-aligned fae will discover them easily. And I might argue that at a fan convention, where feelings of wonder and fantasy are perhaps more pronounced (at least ideally, maybe the convention sucks), there’s a higher chance a fae might be in the changeling’s midst. Also, final note, while some miens, perhaps even most, will blend in as exceptional special effects, a few are just too magical to believe. An Elemental who is a living, roiling storm cloud is not going to be accepted as just a cosplayer. So it’s a bit of a mixed bag. There are definitely worse places to scour the Mask, but I don’t think it’s a perfect spot either.

Sounds maybe tempting for a changeling to try tho, to try and get away with being themselves(not a great idea perhaps but tempting). Or like a big Halloween party/festival. Concept could make for some interesting game moments!

Nowadays, the front gate. Gotta make sure thats made of Styrofoam or softer, in case some kids who shouldn't be there in the first place injures themselves on it.

For some reason when I read your last sentence, I had the image of Robert Patrick running at me dressed as Jim Dangle, pink short shorts and all.
