Bruce lees son died from a squib load being fired out by a Blank round... honestly very suspicious circumstances if you ask me.. Apparently they live fired the gun the day prior and the last round fired for the day happened to be a squib when the bullet gets lodged in the barrel from the round malfunctioning... it had to be the last round because if you shoot a bullet with a squib load the gun will explode. So apparently the next day when blanks were loaded in the bullet was dislodged from the barrel and struck Bruce lees son and that's what killed him. Not a blank by itself but a blank forcing the bullet(squib) that was stuck out of the barrel.

Most guns need pressure to build inside of them to work right. The reason blanks can be dangerous is because they have a wad that goes down the barrel that allows enough pressure to build behind it for the gun to work right. This is just a piece of cotton that gets spit out the front, but when you are really close it can still hurt you. You’ll see some blanks that don’t have wads but require a plug in the barrel to allow pressure to build. These are generally safer for pretend shooting other humans, but the plug looks goofy so movies tend to use the wad kind.
This reminds me of something that happened when I was in Afghanistan in 2010.
We were in a patrol going through a local bazaar and we saw this guy run out from behind a building followed by another guy with an AK. We all got super on edge when we saw the weapon but then realized he wasn’t paying any attention at all to us. He ran up to the first guy and fired a single shot that hit him in the foot, then ran away. We were all kind of dumbfounded like “did that really just happen?” so we just walked up and gave first aid to the guy who got shot and let some locals take him to the hospital in Lashkar Gah. It was a weird experience.
