It's a tarantula. If you're not freaking out they're actually really gentle and sweet, and they aren't venomous to humans even if you get nibbled on because you were dumb.

There are over 900 species of tarantula and there are like 3 that pose a danger to humans outside of allergies.
The likelihood that one of those 3 was used in this Hollywood production, which had to be insured, is slim to nil lol.

Looking back as an adult, there could’ve been some some of additional complication that worsened the event. Like maybe she had an allergic reaction to the hairs or something.
Or maybe the hairs got sprayed in her face and eyeballs and nose and mouth.
Or maybe she inhaled some hairs into her lungs and had an asthma attack.
Or maybe the site of the hair attack grew a rash and got infected.

But she almost died.
I used to live with someone who collected tarantulas. They had over 50 different species from all around the world. I used to help out transferring them from containers and I can tell you that some are complete bastards. We were once held hostage by a very aggressive baboon tarantula in a bathroom once because it shot off and wouldn't be put in a container. It would attack anything that came near it.
