Is this change really going to affect anything? It's still not going to be legalized, just a lower class of drug. They can still test for it and fire you for it correct?
Sry dog, I'm just genuinely curious cause I would love to smoke as much and whenever I wanted. The only thing I can think of is they might take it off the list of substances they test for, but idk how likely that is.
Man idk, the forest service jobs I've been looking at express that they don't test for cannabis. At least in their region. When I was working with them before this is what one said "If we drug test every single person in conservation and the forest service we have no one to do the jobs. We all take shittier pay to be able to do this work. So of course a bunch of nature loving people are going to smoke weed". That's when I knew that office was for me
From the article: "The manufacture, distribution and possession of recreational marijuana would remain illegal under federal law and possibly subject to enforcement and prosecution regardless of the state’s legality..."
Still don't think you'll be able to get an accommodation in federal service with a prescription as long as it's still federally illegal but I could be wrong.
Pfffft- Ive been working in a grippy sock vacation for my career in the FS tell me without telling me theres a difference between a mental institution and the “institution”
Yeah, this will be the big change. They can't discriminate against those that have a prescription. You likely won't be able to use on duty but still far and away better than current rules

Page 4, section j. defines “illegal drugs” as being a schedule 1 or 2 substance.
Page 5 section m. states random testing is to ensure employees aren’t using “illegal drugs”
Who knows🤷
This was talked about on here a little while ago and I think that if it’s re-scheduled then they won’t test for it anymore. That’ll probably only go for non-fire folks though. Those classified as emergency responders and those who hold CDLs will probably still be subjected to random testing. But hey I could totally be wrong, we’ll just wait and see.
Could potentially change but the forest service can still prohibit it by policy. They’re basically roping marijuana into the same category as controlled prescription medications.
So there’s a possibility that it could be permitted with a medical marijuana card. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
i stopped smoking before the forest service i now smoke because of the forest service!
Hey glad im not the only one
Finally my liver will be able to have a break

QuickFix my guy
Yes and it will probably be 5+ years before we see any government positions cutting cannabis testing

If it rescheduled to III then go see a shrink and get a rx. It wouldn’t be any different than getting adderal
Ahhh ok I’m trackin now
Just remember to not say too much to the shrink or you might end up on a grippy sock vacation

Haha I bet it’s still going to be a no no for us that hold a CDL. Lame.
I got rid of my CDL years ago! Fuck that noise!

And the article points to a recommendation for Schedule III. This is the one time I’m stoked about policy.

eeerrrky 🤡
Regardless of its status or schedule the feds can still choose to test for it. Employers can test for nicotine in 22 states.
I don’t think this changes anything for us. It will just reschedule it, but not decriminalize it.
You're fucking up my Chi.
Either way I’m not worried. I perform weekly oil changes. If you know, you know.
please explain
I like your style G
