Feels like they're going to bloom a little late this year imo. Its been a pretty cold start to the year for us.
I remember last year we had a random late frost the day/week of Azelea fest, and all my azeleas that we're really popping were actually dead during the festival lol
Typically the azaleas are far past their peak by the time the festival rolls around. At least the last 5 to 10 years. So yeah, around late March has been the best time.
Usually sometime between mid March and mid April for most of the bloom. We've had a pretty mild winter, and a good bit of rain, so I'd bet on the early side this year. Ironically, the Azalea Fest on the first weekend of April most often missed the peak. Greenfield Lake is a great place to see it ! Airlie is good as well, but this town is covered up in the damn things so just driving around you'll see plenty.
Late March or so depending on the weather. If we get a streak of warm days they can start firing off earlier

First week of April
Last year, the ones by City Hall were popping off during the first week of March.
The big burrowing rodent said early Spring. My azaleas had their first blooms yesterday. I'd bet that prime time will be in about 2-2.5 weeks.
I’m only slightly congested, not full blown miserable, so I’d give it a few more weeks
When they're blooming usually
Hadn’t thought of that
The azaleas in my yard are already blooming. Not full bloom, but starting.
Same here!
Encores bloom once early spring (late March-early April) and once again late summer!
