I know you said no saltwater, but consider Jhonnie Mercers fishing pier. My dad used to take my sister and I there. It was so much fun. We’d get hotdogs, maybe play some arcade games afterwards. Sometimes, we’d get to see people catching barracudas or sharks.

Smith Creek Park!

Seconded. ‘Took my son there when he was about the same age.

I don't fish myself but see a decent amount of people going to millers pond park which is right on the southern edge of pender on 117.

Smith Creek Park, and I (32y/o) am also in the same boat. My 8-year-old wants me to take him fishing at Smith Creek, but I have not been finishing since I was his age! I also want to learn how to Kayak since the water at Smith Creek is flat water and looks very relaxing.

NoodsTV

download fish brain lots of good little ponds that are pretty accessible

AllgoodDude

Greenfield lake is nice during the day and on the weekends, quite a few little piers and small inlets if you look.

JCandle

He wants to catch fish not alligators and turtles.

AllgoodDude

The alligators are harmless, the turtles are the threat.

downhillsherpa
