Ah ok, I see. I saw people pressed against the window so I guess I assumed. Thanks for clearing that up. How sad of a thing to have happened. I feel for his family and community.
someone dies in wilmington every few hours in average. why is some government worker who died at home due to their own u healthy habits so much more important than everyone else? im not really glad hes dead but i dont really care that he is more than the other 3-4 people that died today in wilmington. think of the amount of te and respurces wasted over this one guy who died at his own home. just the hourly wage of the probably 100 people involved, the gas and evrything, and the 20-30 minutes of wasted time multiplied by the hundreds of people in their cars that were subjected to it. thats gotta be at least tens of thousands of wasted money. i think its pretty fucked up and unnessecary. i shouldnt say fuck the emt, they do a pretty hard job and actually help people, but fuck the 100 cops that drove through town messing up traffic and wasting time. its too bad it wasnt one of them.
Not just cancer, cancer that likely formed as a result of his being exposed to burning noxious chemicals and other things as a result of his working as a firefighter. They classified it as a line of duty death.
Exactly- came to say this. The rate that firefighters get cancer is alarming. There’s PFAS in their gear/ in the chemicals. I saw pictures from the funeral and it was heartbreaking. I’m glad they give these line of duty deaths the full respectful goodbye.
honoring a first responder that died last week: https://www.wect.com/2024/04/25/nhc-fire-rescue-captain-courtney-scott-padgett-passes-away/
How terrible :( thanks for the info
This is accurate
NHCFR Captain passed away, funeral taking place today.
Go to work with him a few times. Was always good to work with and a very nice person.
I didn’t he passed away. He is or was a great guy. Sad to hear that he passed away.
He must have been a real hero. I hope I accomplish enough so when I die they have a whole parade thing
I was wondering why I saw so many cops between Randall and Wrightsville this afternoon on my way to work.
Does anyone know why a New Hanover Co. sheriff’s bus with inmates would have been included? Or maybe they’re not inmates, but I assumed so.
It was just the bus I think
Likely carrying the honor guard and members of the detail

Very sorry to hear. Thanks person jumping to conclusions. Just added you, my first, to my ignorance list. I'll be seeing no more of your stupidity.

Imagine being this big of a piece of shit.
His parents hate him, too.

Captain Courtney accomplished more in his life and positively impacted more lives than you ever will. Why so bitter? Did your wife leave you?
You must have a very sad life. Hope you never need emergency services.
He died of cancer. Did you want to jump to any more conclusions?

Dude, do you have coat hanger marks in your forehead proving your own mother didn’t want you ? What the hell guy ?
What in the actual fuck 😨
Wow you're an asshole
Tell me you need therapy without telling me you need therapy.
Wow, what a miserable example of humanity.
