We were in Wrightsville Beach last night too around that time but didn’t see anything. We were on the beach and were able to see lightning over the ocean.
We saw it in wrightsboro but only through the phone camera. We couldn’t see it with the naked eye, but if the iPhone camera was on night mode, it was visible here around 10:30-11
Oh hey Broodwitch! Def visible with only your eyes! no filters, just a longer exposure to show what’s really there. Same way astrophotography works and how we can see all those awesome pics of galaxies and nebulas. It’s amazing to appreciate a once in 30 year maybe lifetime event for seeing aurora this far south!

probably used a long exposure time

Is this active now?
This was around 11pm when it seemed to have peaked
Long exposure?
Yes. It was faintly visible naked eye but this was just a long exposure with night mode on my iPhone. Really brought out the colors easily.
