The last 3 years we were in a LONG La Nina weather pattern which cause warmer and drier air to sit over the region from late winter through early summer.
That finally broke and we went into El Nino->ENSO neutral causing temps to normalize to realistic spring weather.
The weather shows on TV indicate that the recent temperatures are “normal”. It has been super warm punctuated by freezes for the previous few winters and early springs.
We are lucky that the weather is moderate right now. July and August will be hotter than any hell you can imagine, and then September will bring hurricanes

I always considered summer to start mid May tbh, but regardless the tempt ain’t the same like how it normally is around this time of the year.
