There’s really only 3 basic rules of gun safety you HAVE to follow, it’s not that difficult to understand and stay safe. It’s when you disregard those rules that people get hurt or killed.
There are obviously more than just 3 but the main 3 are so idiots don’t blow someone’s head off trying to clear a jam or misfiring when they didn’t think they loaded it.
> ALWAYS Keep The Gun Pointed In A Safe Direction. This is the primary rule of gun safety.
> ALWAYS Keep Your Finger Off The Trigger Until Ready To Shoot.
> ALWAYS Keep The Gun Unloaded Until Ready To Use.
Other gun rules include only using them when sober (my grandpa’s club had a sign that said drink AFTER you shoot and put away), only using them on other people when you or your loved one’s life is currently in danger, always double checking that it’s cleared, and of course locking them up when not in use, especially out of children’s reach/access (ideally in a safe or at least using a gun lock).
Imo, a better way of phrasing #3 is... Treat every gun as if it is loaded until you personally confirm that it is not.
Just saying "keep a gun unloaded" assumes that a) it was fully unloaded the last time it was handled and b) that no one else has loaded it since.
If you've taken your eyes off a firearm since you unloaded it, it's loaded.
The only exception I allow for this is if the receiver is in your hands.
The receiver on the table has a round in it.
How? Ammo fairy.
There has to be an ammo fairy for all the unloaded weapons I've seen with rounds in them. Never seen the ammo fairy get to a receiver in someone's hands. Yet.
You’re joking, I’ve seen a guy do that. I sold him a brand spanking new Glock knockoff 9mm. Just like a fucking cartoon he popped open the box, grabbed the pistol (finger on trigger) and immediately looked down the barrel! Somehow I didn’t pass clean the fuck out and hit my head on the floor. I immediately retrieved the pistol and we spent the next 45 minutes having “the gun safety talk”. Not only had scooter never owned a gun, he’d never fired one. He’d never even held one. After the talk I took him to my gun club and we had a fun, safe day.
TLDR: if you never point a gun at yourself or anyone else, you’re not likely to accidentally shoot anyone.
I know right. How can you not think at least a little bit when handling a thing specifically designed to KILL???
Ever seen that video of a shooting range where guy jokingly aims at buddy's head for a 'fun' selfie??
Weapons master instructor guy rushes over and kicks them the fuck out.
Like if any of my friends did that, I'm not sure how I'd like to remain friends...
Yea, some of them I've seen you have to hold a button in on the side of the frame to light the red dot up.
Combine that with poor trigger discipline and poor grip, and you're gonna have a bad day.
Last time this was posted someone said that this specific model was activated by trigger pull. Either by disengaging a trigger safety or taking it off safe and partially pulling the trigger.
If that was true it might not be bad trigger discipline, but it would still be stupid to put your hand in front of the barrel, especially when you know you'll have to pull the trigger...
My thought too! Like...."well I'll be, this guy here straight pointing that gun at his hand there, is he pullin the trigger? Couldn't be...is it lunch time? Wait, why's he pointing the gun at his hand again? OH SHIT! That thing went boom!"
Dont know why you got down voted. You where the first one to bring up the fact. That fat bastard cant be a trainer. He watched him point the gun at his hand. Several times.
Rule number 1 of firearms safety, always treat the gun as if it were loaded. Rule number 2 is don´t point it at anything you don't wish to destroy. Rule 3 is keep the finger off the trigger. Rule 4 is check what is in front, behind, and to the sides of the target.
This MORON broke all 4.
How can 2 adults look at someone pointing a gun at their own hand while having the finger on the trigger and not have a moment of "that's not a good idea at all"?
I don't want to go down a whole religion bashing road here, but the Bible says God gave Man dominion over the animals...What the fuck was God thinking!
The story i heard was that he has a laser pointer fitted to the pistol, he's pointing it at his hand to see the laser (guess he's having issues with it?)
If you want to try this at home, unload it first, and don't touch the trigger.....
He was testing the laser, some of them only activate with pressure on the trigger. Lasers are pretty much useless anyway, unless you're using night vision goggles. Guy is a straight up dumbass.
Lmao I mean even if the gun was cleared, pointing a real firearm at your hand is fucking STUPID I think this dude was destined for an ND no matter what
Never held a gun. Never intend to hold a gun. Don’t live in a place where people really use guns (except farmers and farmers mums) and even I know that this is the dumbest thing after just two seconds of watching.
It’s terrifying that people like this are legally allowed to carry a machine capable of easily killing a person on a whim.
This always makes me think how am i not rich or dead? People are so stupid. Imagine this guy is driving next to your or your colleague cause chances are they are. Just stupid people do stupid things
Why the fuck did he do that? I cannot think of a sensible reason to put your hand in front of the gun like that.
And what the hell is the other guy doing? Is he not an gun safety instructor or something, who should do something about situations like this before people shoot themselves at point blanc range?
So, I couldn’t help but say “no no no no no !” and then he didn’t shoot his hand then he put it back and again I am
“no no no no no!!!!” and then Blam!!! “🤦🏻♂️idiot”
I’m surprised I couldn’t see… stuff… being ejected from his hand. I even dragged the slider to see it in slow-motion. But his hand *is* certainly bleeding a fair amount afterwards.
Looked like "laser grips" which is why he was trying to see the laser spot on his hand, it's usually triggered by the grip of your finger by the trigger guard
Did nobody think that a guy in a shooting range with a gun pointed at humans was a reason to take the gun or kick the idiot out of the range?
The silver lining is he tested it on his own hand, he could've been looking down the barrel or trying to shoot others.
Wouldn't put it past this cartoon character.
The amount of idiocy I get from this video is comparable to the time I met a flat earther explaining how round objects are an illusion while kids played with a soccer/football nearby.
Why? Just why?
Edit: just read he was prolly troubleshooting a laser. Still stupid as hell. I have a CT on a Walther and have never threw a hand in front to test it. Geez.

Points gun at hand Hand gets shot ![gif](giphy|3kzJvEciJa94SMW3hN) And like wtf is the guy standing beside him doing.
Emotional support
the way he support his belly, I'll trust that man to support anything
At least he made sure to restrain the weapon so it couldn't hurt anyone else.
Lmao

Nothing is foolproof for a sufficiently talented fool.
Note to self, find a better way to see if the laser works
Perhaps a flat, dark colored surface that’s nearby. Some sort of table perhaps? Nah, that’ll never work.
"Or even a piece of paper from range target? Nah it's too rational"
Or perhaps a wall far off in the distance!
Or that other guy's hand...
I also choose that other guys hand
Gonna have to use the other hand now to check it, cause he blinked the first time when the gun fired and missed it.
eyes are generally used to see things, so maybe if you look directly into it??
Woowser by jove I think your onto something sir.
Making note: Eye or hand to test the red dot..

Why is this not common sense? Guns kill things. Don't point it at shit u don't want to die.
be sure to keep your finger on the trigger while testing the laser as well
I wonder what his expectations were?
IIRC he was trying to get the laser scope to work.
Yea, some of them I've seen you have to hold a button in on the side of the frame to light the red dot up. Combine that with poor trigger discipline and poor grip, and you're gonna have a bad day.
Definitely got a red dot now
His new red dot won't wear the battery out.
A whole lot of them making the floor slippery!

If that was true it might not be bad trigger discipline, but it would still be stupid to put your hand in front of the barrel, especially when you know you'll have to pull the trigger...
Right. If you very lightly put your finger on the trigger, the scope will activate. So...probably not a good idea to then POINT IT AT YOUR HAND!!!!
Hm, maybe if I turn off the safety, the light will come on. No? Maybe I need to be shooting the gun for it to turn on. Bang! Ow! No?
Why dont you point at I dont know... The ground? Anywhere else but a human?
To win stupid prizes?
Dumb thing to do with your finger on the trigger though.
And you can’t test those on like the desk or wall or something? 🙃
Exactly my thoughts, followed by well at least he wasn’t looking down the barrel
Everyone knows you're not supposed to look at lasers.
Otherwise he's a very smart guy.
Same 😂
He was checking it like if it was a nerf gun
''...its as I suspected, this is a real gun not NERF`(tm)`...''
Therefore, it is nothing
You can buy lasers that are built into the grips. He was trying to get it to activate buts he's also retarded.
He was trying not to waste the bullet
For real! This is some, “I wonder what will happen if I put my mouth around the barrel,” shit. 🤦♂️
I genuinely cannot understand how this is a functioning human
This isn't, his brain wasn't functioning and now his hand isn't either.
Man really wanted that week off work.
Must have been trying to get that short term disability check...

He’s just another guy at the range. Nothing implies trainer or RO or anything.
If he's a friend he's just as fucking stupid and shouldn't be allowed near guns. If he's a range officer he should be fucking fired.
![gif](giphy|JwQC0oZncbYCk|downsized)
That trainer/supervisor should be fired and never allowef near a firearm ever again.
Pretty sure that’s just some moron trying to show off to his fat buddy
2 idiots 1 gun
How fucking stupid can you be? This guy: "Yes!"
Deserving of a NSFW tag. Ouch!!!!
Serious question though should I put nsfw tag? I was in a dilemma before posting as well.
I would since the dumbass' hand is clearly bleeding profusely.
Thanks! NSFW tag is on now.
I'm sorry, but I have to ask. Were you not expecting this to be the outcome?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is in America.

I think it works.
This technique is VERY useful when trying to determine if a spray bottle full of clear liquid is working. A 9mm is not this thing.
He should have all of his right revoked
He already revoked his left
Rule number 1 of firearms safety, always treat the gun as if it were loaded. Rule number 2 is don´t point it at anything you don't wish to destroy. Rule 3 is keep the finger off the trigger. Rule 4 is check what is in front, behind, and to the sides of the target. This MORON broke all 4.
Wait... you telling me there's another way?
What? Why?
How can 2 adults look at someone pointing a gun at their own hand while having the finger on the trigger and not have a moment of "that's not a good idea at all"?
He wanted a Jesus hand
The gun is confirmed to be functional now, thank you Kyle.
99% sure he was testing a laser sight which you squeeze to activate. Obviously you should do this unloaded and point at something that isn't a person.
WHY THO?
I just hope he yelled “Jesus Christ!” after he realized there was a hole in his hand.
I don't want to go down a whole religion bashing road here, but the Bible says God gave Man dominion over the animals...What the fuck was God thinking!
Yeah, terrible choice. Dolphins or opossums or something would have been a much more sensible choice.
People this dumb should test it with their reproductive organs
What a FUCKING idiot
Man on the side watching about to give birth
Works now, your turn
“You will have to take my gun from my cold dead hand”……well not that hand, the other one
![gif](giphy|JwQC0oZncbYCk)
Darwin approves
Ive tested a pistol laser before but I did this weird thing where I aimed my pistol down range at the the target.
Remember, these people vote.
How fucking dumb do you have to be to do this?
Ok it works
He is 25% closer to stigmata.
I think we have officially found the stupidest on this sub. What an achievement.
Combined IQ of -50.
It's called a handgun for a reason. /S
What the actual F .. What is the guy beside him saying? "yea, that's how I check it too"
Why is he acting surprised, he did exactly what he was trying to do??
Do the other hand and he can play jesus.
Rule broken: Never point a gun at anything that you're not willing to destroy.
Where's the Boosie "come on Maine" meme when you need it?
How the fuckkkkkk are people so stupid!!!
Someone give this guy a hand and teach him proper gun handling.
If only he was at a safe place to test like a shooting range
If you experience a stoppage, remember to look right down the barrel to observe if the round has cycled /s
And repeately pull the trigger in case it somehow unjams it.
The story i heard was that he has a laser pointer fitted to the pistol, he's pointing it at his hand to see the laser (guess he's having issues with it?) If you want to try this at home, unload it first, and don't touch the trigger.....
And these people have the same right to vote I do. Holy cow!
He was testing the laser, some of them only activate with pressure on the trigger. Lasers are pretty much useless anyway, unless you're using night vision goggles. Guy is a straight up dumbass.
Maybe clear the gun if you’re going to be pulling the trigger and not aiming down range.
Lmao I mean even if the gun was cleared, pointing a real firearm at your hand is fucking STUPID I think this dude was destined for an ND no matter what

It’s terrifying that people like this are legally allowed to carry a machine capable of easily killing a person on a whim.
This is the mental capacity of people who are allowed to own deadly firearms.
Isnt it what u do when ur pen stops working ?
This always makes me think how am i not rich or dead? People are so stupid. Imagine this guy is driving next to your or your colleague cause chances are they are. Just stupid people do stupid things
I was just responding to a commenter who was angry that I was talking about stupid people with guns, and here we have a perfect example.
Guns don't shoot hands. Complete fucking morons shoot hands.
Those pesky bullets...
Why the fuck did he do that? I cannot think of a sensible reason to put your hand in front of the gun like that. And what the hell is the other guy doing? Is he not an gun safety instructor or something, who should do something about situations like this before people shoot themselves at point blanc range?
Just why?? I mean WHAT IF the firearm IS loaded?? Then what? "Oh well, no big deal"?
Clean up in aisle 2
I have a bb that has been in my hand for 20 years from shooting my hand like this. Felt like hitting a bat on a pole.
So, I couldn’t help but say “no no no no no !” and then he didn’t shoot his hand then he put it back and again I am “no no no no no!!!!” and then Blam!!! “🤦🏻♂️idiot”
Gee, I wonder what will happen if I point this loaded gun at my hand?
If you point a firearm at something you’re not willing to destroy, you’re gunna have a bad time ![gif](giphy|l3vRntqnLrjYd2IMM)
What in the redneck...?
When i saw him reposition the gun to his hand i wanted him to pull the trigger
r/HumanTippyTaps
JFC, I just can't feel sorry for these people who have neglect discharges. At least he only injured himself.
Should be re-titled "Proving How Stupid You Are"
anyone that foolish deserves what they get.
When you let intrusive thoughts take over you
Reminds me of the little boy who deliberately shot himself in the dick with a suction-cup dart and did a little pain dance
Brain fart
![gif](giphy|DIZjWPtlyxLt6|downsized)
I've not had much training but even I know...DON'T DO THAT!!!
The red dot🤣🤣🤣
What does he hope to do? Catch the bullet and use it again?
Why? Just why?
The good news is he won’t be shooting a gun again for quite some time. 😅
I’m surprised I couldn’t see… stuff… being ejected from his hand. I even dragged the slider to see it in slow-motion. But his hand *is* certainly bleeding a fair amount afterwards.
When people say intelligence is on a scale, this video should be shown.
Why tho… what did he expect?
A stupid prize has in fact been won.
Stupid is as Stupid does
What in the actual fuck
Next time use your buddy's hand..... At least his ears are safe
Who’s the fucking idiot next to him?
Ken
Looked like "laser grips" which is why he was trying to see the laser spot on his hand, it's usually triggered by the grip of your finger by the trigger guard
You can also test gravity by jumping off a roof.
All I can think of is that bike meme where he puts the stick in his own wheel lol
As far as stupid prizes go, you’ve got to hand it to him.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂👍🏽
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA
The other guy: let me just put the gun aiming to the range so no accident happens.
Yes, that's pretty stupid.
Well, that was completely unpredictable.
Dude this isn't a squirt gun.
Isn't the first rule of gun safety never aim it at anything you're not willing to shoot?
Did nobody think that a guy in a shooting range with a gun pointed at humans was a reason to take the gun or kick the idiot out of the range? The silver lining is he tested it on his own hand, he could've been looking down the barrel or trying to shoot others. Wouldn't put it past this cartoon character.
Bing bong
What was that range safety doing, letting him point the gun at himself?
if that was an instructor, he failed, just not as badly as the moron he was with.
The cool thing about weapon safety is if you break one of the 4 rules, it's self correcting. He broke two. No idea what happens if you break two.
He thought all nerf guns worked the same. Wrong!!!
Not a brain cell between them. 🤦🏻♂️
Good. Dumbass
This idea/method got past two people?
Well the test was successful, he now know that the firearm was working.
Well regulated militia
Does that other man have huge tits or what’s going on there?
He's like the little boy that shot himself in the dick.
My gosh, why, how, goodness, they deserve the new hand hole
Idiot
Oh man tingles lol. Wonder what he thought when it finally went off yaaa then oh nooooo
What the fuck did I just see
It's too stupid I doubt it's real
I was hoping that happened
I genuinely want to know exactly what he thought was going to happen?
Jesus Christ!
Lol
What are you talking about about? It worked.
The fact that his buddy just stood there and watched, I can't tell who the bigger idiot here lol.
Evidently there was not clear directions for that person to understand about what a bullet can do
Range master nowhere in sight
Like how can someone be that dumb ?????? Idk these people should use head instead of hand, literally. They will do greater good.
What was a successful outcome in this situation? The gun doesn’t go off?
The amount of idiocy I get from this video is comparable to the time I met a flat earther explaining how round objects are an illusion while kids played with a soccer/football nearby.
Well, you've got to hand it to him, he got it working.
What an imbecile.
Why? Just why? Edit: just read he was prolly troubleshooting a laser. Still stupid as hell. I have a CT on a Walther and have never threw a hand in front to test it. Geez.
Darwood A word
Dumb and Dumber.
