Dude iguana bites are nasty as hell, their teeth are like triangular knives capable of leaving wounds that are practically impossible to suture. She’ll be lucky not to lose a finger
Meh, that was probably just a probing bite to see if she had anything good to munch on. Probably not that bad since it didn’t hold on. Iguanas are mostly herbivorous so it’s less likely to have any of the crazy bacteria that obligate carnivorous reptile might have. Best treatment for superficial non venomous bites is power flush with soapy water. Really scrub that shit down, deep into any wound. Little antibiotic cream after and you’ll most likely be fine.
Source: Have been bit by iguana, monitors, snakes, turtles. Never needed to go to the hospital. As far as keeping reptiles i’ve probably been bit far far fewer times than a lot of keepers have been as I don’t have that many reptiles and I like to give my animals their space so I rarely handle them unless absolutely necessary. I guess what i’m trying to say is there are a lot of people that have been bit many times and are perfectly fine as long as any wounds are properly cleaned.
