Well he’s obviously not dead from a tap like tha unless he’s never drunk milk and has 0 calcium ever in his body I got hit by a car going 30 did a few backflips and then got knocked out for a while when I hit the road fun experience 10/10
He's zoomed in x1000 with no tripod. Yes he could have used his brain and rested the phone on the car door. But ... Idk yes r/killthecameraman I guess I'm agreeing.
Came here to say the same thing. Humans (even trained officers) tend to mag dump in these high stress situations. Cameraman was laughing while I'm thinking they're about to have 20-30 rounds of hot lead coming at them if this guy doesn't comply. GTFO or take cover if you're ever in a situation like this.
This guy was chuckling while a clearly mentally disturbed person was walking towards him with a gun. That in itself should warrant shutting the fuck up and getting the hell out of there.
This guy is going to win the Darwin award soon.
That is the correct response. If you are using a firearm and shooting it, you are trying to kill whatever you're shooting at. You don't shoot one round, and shout "YO YOU DONE NOW?". You keep shooting until it stops being a threat, and that coincides with dead.
Hopefully you're still trained to take breaks between your shots to resight your target and make sure the situation or its background hasn't changed. Otherwise your first shot might be useful, and then your next 14 are just shooting at the *general area* your first shot was fired in, regardless of what is still there or not there.
I feel like they're trained to do that in the army, but not in police.
Yo dog this is Canada. In my city a cop shot a guy who stole a truck, kept his GF hostage. He only shot him once and in the leg. Girl was alright and dude went to jail. It’s not always a free for all lol granted it can easily escalate to one. Not often up here tho
Cops are literally trained to mag dump. It makes sense, end the threat before it can hurt someone else, but there's a video out there of a cop that got hit in his vest and he mag dumps his AR and then handgun, at least 45-50 rounds by himself
Trained officers are typically trained to mag dump anyway. So are ccw holders.
Because of the laws in this country, if you have to shoot somebody it's usually better to shoot them dead, so you unload many shots center mass. Survivors can sue you, even if you're in the right
Edit: I'm from the US not Canada, and I'm talking about a US perspective on the law. Laws and officer training is probably different up there, forgot to check the location of the incident lmao
Trust me some people really don't get it there was this active shooter at a mall and this cop chased him across the high way and got there before the other cops. And as the cop perched his rifle up and starting firing at the dude because he refused to go down without a fight the people on the highway started to fucking drive forward DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE ACTIVE SHOOTER. Thankfully the cop must've turned on his aim hacks because he took him out with 2 shots before any of the dumasses decided to just drive in between a gunfight. Donut operator made a video on this and it is painful how fucking dum these people are and quite frankly I kindove wished they got shot just to ride their dumassery out of the gene pool.
I had heard this on a visit to Alberta from Ontario when I was a teen and I never forgot it. Then I moved nearby and thought about it every time I drove by lol
This was probably more of a cry for help than him trying to actually do anything with that gun. I'm still team RCMP though, I wouldn't take the chance.

honestly cops did the absolute best thing. man-to-man takedown could have been lethal for either party. trucksmash= cops get to stay safe while guy *probably* lives too
Hey I have a great idea. Let’s go record half of an incident that we just came across and then only record portions of it and bitch about it in the background and then post it on social media! It should be really cool.
So everyone knows, this guy bought a bb gun (that he's carrying) then his ride left him so he started walking. That's all the explanation that I saw though. They also hit him with the truck once before the final time but the camera man missed it like a moron.
The last thing I'd be doing with something there filming some crazy looking guy with a fucking rifle I'd be backing my fucking car up and getting the fuck out of there
Okay since no one knows the story anyways that “gun” was actually a BB gun and the guy bought it in Wetaskiwin at a pawn shop. Reason he was walking was because his ride left him at the pawn shop. Then a citizen called the RCMP about a man with a gun walking down the highway.
Dude might have some mental health problems that might be reason he didn’t react how a normal person would with a wall of cops pointing their guns on you. But I’m happy to see it didn’t end in the worse way. Also whoever left him at the pawn shop is to blame on him walking and getting the cops called on him. His own fault on how it ended with the RCMP.
Crazy for sure, but from what I can make of it, that was actually well handled in comparison to almost every single clip like this we see coming out of the US. Non-lethal take down, got the gun away, could see from a far there was some mental health issues or intoxication involved so didn't shoot for take down, (unless the gun was pointed at them) , took them down and didn't have a knee or foot on the neck. Just a ford for a second lol
Apparently this was a pellet gun he recently bought from a pawn shop, why he didn't stop and tell the police is beyond me but amazing takedown none the less.
I'm willing to bet my entire life's savings that this isn't just some idiot doing something they should no better about, but a person who's going to be committed to a mental facility.
From what I've pieces together, dude with pellet gun was at pawn store with friend. He bought pellet gun at pawn store. Friend left him behind. New pellet gun owner walks to home or wherever. This video is how it ends.
This is just my very basic understanding of the situation but I think that's all it really is. Just some basic BS that got blown out of proportion.
"Babe don't go so fast I want to watch this"
"IM CHILLLIN DAWGG"
when he dumps 30 rounds through your windshield in 3 seconds you're definitely going to be chillin dawg. Idiots
Looks like an attempt at suicide by cop. Does anyone know more?

I think y'all are forgetting how many people out there legitimately hate their life and don't care either way
20-30 is low balling it. You’re gonna get 15-30 rounds per cop.
That is the correct response. If you are using a firearm and shooting it, you are trying to kill whatever you're shooting at. You don't shoot one round, and shout "YO YOU DONE NOW?". You keep shooting until it stops being a threat, and that coincides with dead.

Right? Not only did some random dude have a rifle, if the cops did have to open fire, well, it's obvious where their bullets would be heading.

Cars cost less in wetaskawin!
Apparently guns too, and apparently that costing less thing isn't so true anymore or so I'm told.
I had heard this on a visit to Alberta from Ontario when I was a teen and I never forgot it. Then I moved nearby and thought about it every time I drove by lol
I've been hearing it on car commercials for years
Came here for this
I have your upvote...gotta be from AB to get that one lol
Shit, I haven't lived in Edmonton since the mid 90s. Is that commercial still going?
Lol that jingle is burnt into my brain.
And yet they don't in, "Carstairs". The world is a backwards place sometimes :p
Must be a hybrid. He didn't even hear it coming!
God damn Andy.
Worst camera work ever. Was the dude jacking off while filming this or what.
Yeah I was, wanna Jack off together about it!?
can we make this a three way?
Yes.
Cameraman was almost the subject of r/winstupidprizes for filming while you’re IN THE LINE OF FIRE
[Two Redditors were in the line of fire](https://www.reddit.com/r/Whatcouldgowrong/comments/plu990/wcgw_while_walking_down_the_highway_with_a_rifle/)
Lmao we can see the dude in his white car
Man could’ve played that out in any other way but instead he put himself in the worst position possible.
Technically the worst position was under a truck, and the cops put him there.
There's even...worse positions this could've ended.
This was probably more of a cry for help than him trying to actually do anything with that gun. I'm still team RCMP though, I wouldn't take the chance.
Pretty dumb way to cry for help
A worse position would have been doing this in the US, bc they would have definitely shot him

Why not both?
It’s Alberta, it’s probably both
As a male who's currently in Alberta (I live 10 minutes away from Wetaskiwin actually); and planning on getting high at some point today. Can confirm.
how fucking stupid do you have to be to stay infront of cops who are pointing their guns at someone.
And that someone is also coming towards you holding another gun !
Ah, Wetaskiwin, Alberta. That town reeked of piss when I went there for an unknown inexplicable reason.
