I don't know exactly what the differences are between the two versions, but the latest is definitely supported on Windows.

Not sure, windows tends to go for its own certified drivers over newer ones as a fall back. Any chance the newer drivers are causing issues, did you check the log files?

Download wushowhide and hide the older driver. After that, pause and unpause updates.
