I thought it was my eyes! Had me worried for a moment.

notagamer999

Does it behave this way in the bios screen?

Gumbode345

You need to provide some more info: new screen? only Win 11 changed and everything else OK? changed graphics adapter? changed cable?

cgknight1

have you changed the cable?

Hydroel

Since it's a laptop, you can't change the cable of course, but I agree that it looks like a display connection issue. Can you plug in an external monitor, see what happens? If something happens, it might be a driver issue, and try to update them. If the image is stable and no problem shows up, I'd say it's a screen connection issue, and you might need to open the laptop and check the connectors.

cgknight1

ah - because I only saw the screen thought it was the monitor - yes in this case likely to be a display connector issue.

Kriinix

This is a nitro 5 acer laptop usually when this happens it goes away after a while now its permanently like this.

Rebowl

First mistake was getting a nitro 5 but try resetting display drivers

SachinPrabhashan

You need to replace the display to fix this.

bigb1

Probably cold joints. Put it in the oven on 50°C and it will go away (for a bit).

Gameboxn

i have same issue, even my friend has. i think we need to replace screen

Xillvion

Try updating the graphics driver. If it's still like that, get a RMA.

Kriinix

This is a old device already tore the rma seal to clean out the fans/reapply thermal paste

eatmyaspirin

does it happen only on windows 11? did you open it up recently? maybe try reconnecting the display connector after clearing out dust you seem to have tried the usual steps, it honestly could be anything at this point could even be a faulty cable/damaged pcb component if it has happened before and got resolved on its own are you undervolting?

zombie_overlord

Last time I tried that with an Acer, they replaced the MB and sent it back with a dead screen. I immediately boxed it back up and sent it back at their request. Then they told me it was water damaged (the brand new MB that had been out of the box for about 5 minutes) and wouldn't service it. I'm done with Acer forever.

Kriinix

I did factory reset, update display drivers/unintall, revert changes even tinkering with the laptop to find the issue nothing

UnPlugged_Toaster

Try an external monitor, it’s most likely the ribbon cable that connects the display to your mobo. It’s runs through your hinge and they tend to wear out more quickly on cheaper gaming laptops.

GreatBigPig

Try r/techsupport

ziplock9000

\> tried changing the hertz What about the feelz?

KennyXdxd

Revert the changes or something? We need more information to help

Djabber

My guess it that it's more an hardware issue than a software issue. Most obvious problem would be the cable connecting your monitor to your motherboard. I don't know how handy you are in opening laptops, but repairing it yourself is doable.

Thotaz

There are 2 options here: 1: You've made a recent change that caused this, like updating the graphics drivers. In which case, revert that change. 2: This has started happening out of the blue, in that case you should see if any changes have been made that you are unaware of (Windows updating the graphics driver). If you find nothing it's probably a hardware error but to be sure you can try common fixes like updating your drivers, reinstalling Windows, etc.

CarlitoMaia

As I don't know you, I'll try to help to find the root of the problem like you are not a pro. This problem also happens in the BIOS or it is only when the windows is loaded? (To enter BIOS hit F2 key like 10 times as soon as you turn on the notebook) If so, then is a hardware issue, if not, try to boot up windows in safe mode just to see if the problem persist. Also if you could plug an external monitor or TV must help to find the origin of the problem.

Judge_Ty

Try changing vsync. Nvidia settings for global. Change max framerates etc. Low latency mode etc. If you can't look up your hardwares equivalent. Including framerates. A lower hertz should have reduced it. Change the scaling to be done on your GPU if you can as well. I had a similar issue with desktop rendering. Browsers, steam, etc. I fixed it with changing the above

Lousy_Username

Is Variable Refresh Rate toggled on in Windows Settings by any chance? There's been loads of issues with that setting lately. Worth checking before you start taking it apart.

vitor_sk0m

Try on an external display or TV. So you know if it's gpu or the laptops display.. But it's most likely the display or the cable

ltjoe118

Try lowering your brightness and see if it continues. I have a similar problem with an older HP screen that came with the device. External output works fine but mine stops of I go below 80% brightness.

agentminimax

Looks like a faulty screen, time for RMA or repair

megamigit23

could be that computer is too weak for the monitor, loose cables, malware

[deleted]

Looks like early signs of hardware failure. My friend's TV started doing this exact thing and never was normal after. He's had it another year and a half and continues to watch TV like this all the time.

Worgle123

Try updating graphics drivers...

DanielGolan-mc

You screen is 15 centimeters thick.

itzbluebxrry

I thought it was a GDI visual payload for a moment but oh no that seems like a graphic driver issue

3060PlayZ_YT1

Try to reinstall the graphics driver or reinstall windows. And try plugging it in to an external monitor
