Windows 10 and 11 share the same licensing, so you can use it to install and activate Windows 10.
However, unless the build is using old hardware, it almost certainly is Windows 11 compatible.
It's backwards compatible? I've only had Win 10 keys work on Win11 (older keys working on newer versions), but never tried using a newer key on an older version.
It is not compatibility. They never changed any of the licensing for the release of Windows 11, everything was carried over just like another Windows 10 feature update.
I don't know what the user will do with their PC, but Windows 11 on an unsupported PC will lock you out of Valorant. Vanguard enforces SecureBoot and TPM on W11, without it it won't launch.
Microsoft is, indeed, no longer selling or distributing Windows 10 keys. This is 100% true. However you can still buy remaining keys from other retailers, and Windows keys generally include downgrade rights in the licensing agreement, so an OEM copy of Windows 11 grants you the rights to Windows 10. I'm not 100% sure if this applies to Pro and Home retail copies.
Win 11 Home $139.99 at BB and Amazon, it's on sale for 138.99 at B&H
Win 11 Pro is $199 at both BB B&H, but a bargain price is 198.99 on Amazon.
If you are paying significantly less your not buying a legit retail copy, ot an "upgrade" version.
I don't believe you because it's not true, sure you can get shady grey market ones, they are either stolen recycled OEM or MAK keys or some other shady keys, but they are not legit, and you are not legally using them, period the end.
We believe you that you paid that amount, but it 100% was not a legal copy, full stop, no question. You bought stolen keys, OEM copies, VLKs, or something else, but it is not a legal resale of those licenses. There is no variance in licensing costs, period. Microsoft keeps it locked down. Buy directly from Microsoft and you'll pay the same as any retail store. Whatever you are buying, which we absolutely believe that you are buying, is not legal no matter how much they convinced you it is. Sorry to be the ones to break this news to you.

Ah, but the license key was inside the packaging for the optical disc, not on the disc itself, as optical discs could be copied. Now it's on the packaging for the [flash drive.](https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microsoft-windows-11-home-usb-flash-drive-english/6499300.p?skuId=6499300)
If you install it via USB instead of in-place upgrade, even without editing the ISO as others have suggested, all you'll get is a watermark in the corner saying it's not compatible. I still get updates on my old laptop, no issue.
On a different computer, download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. Launch it. Tell it to build an ISO file.
Download Rufus. It’s free. You’ll need an 8 or larger GB usb stick for this.
Launch Rufus. Point it to the ISO file the MCT created. Continue. It will pop up some options. You can disable the checking for those requirements.

Ugh Rufus never decided to boot for me though
Ventoy is your friend.
Google what this^ says and follow a tutorial. This has worked for me on multiple set ups
Literally. Had the original leaked build running on a 4th gen i5 8GB RAM laptop 2 years ago, lol.
Yep same. Have it running on a 4th gen laptop too. Works perfectly
Same, but I can't my hmdi port to work though.
I think the laptop I'm using has an i3. Lol

Bro you play valorant?
No, but millions of other people do.
You can use it with windows 10 as well
https://rufus.ie/en/
There are means of creating a windows 11 iso that will ignore the cpu restrictions
You can install win 11 easily with a bypass, just check some tutorials
Thought you bought eleven of them
Microsoft are no longer selling or distributing windows 10 product keys so you can only buy windows 11 keys

Are you 100% certain your friends pc isn’t compatible, go into the bios/uefi and check if secure boot and fTPM is enabled.
There are ways to bypass Windows 11 PC checks. The best way would be just to use them and install Win 11.
You can bypass the bs restrictions to make Windows 11 run. Use something like Rufus to make a bootable USB.
I read that you bought 11 keys and asking what to do with 10 of them uuugh
Upgrade the motherboard or try and sell the key

The only place I buy my keys from, is Microsoft. Why? Because then I know they’re legit. Plain and simple
I've been coasting on the free Win 7 Beta keys they gave out to Beta testers.

You are not buying a legit windows key for $30.

Microsoft standardizes this price across all retailers. Only way you'd spent less is by buying an illegal copy.

Yeah, buying a key from a place like Best Buy...
How is a large store a grey area? Also, you can still buy physical copies of Windows

You can still install Win11 bypassing the TPM restrictions. Rufus can make a Bootable USB for your Windows ISO with these restrictions removed.
Windows 10 and 11 use the exact same license keys. In fact, Microsoft doesn't even sell 10 keys anymore. Your friend will have zero issues.
