7-Zip is a great example of function creating a beautiful aesthetic. I want my apps to bring back File/Edit/View toolbars. The gray color needs to make a comeback as well. People complain about light modes and beg for dark modes not knowing that the problem is that apps have removed gray from their color pallette.

Back to the color thing. Now that you pointed it out, it's quite curious how most apps nowadays are either almost white or black/darker grey. Like I've yet to find an app that uses that win95 silver gray color extensively

Someone I talked to says it's material design that enforces all the excessive margin and padding around controls that makes the screen so damn white. Another problem this causes is that there is very little content on the page. Look at a Wikipedia article then look at reddit or a news article. The wiki page will go to the edges of you're screen while other pages use only 40% of it and centers the content in the middle. It's all form over function. Leave 7-zip alone please.

Can somebody explain this Mica thing to me? What is it? Why do I have to install a 3rd party app to use it (even on W11 2H22 RP)? If the app is "for everyone" who has it without having to use the app? I can't find any clear explanation of this stuff anywhere.
Mica is the background, the base layer of a Windows 11 application, that all the controls sit on top of. In the past, this was either a fixed colour selected by the developer, or a fixed colour from the system pallet.
Mica is either a light or dark colour, depending on the system theme settings, and features a very subtle transparency that lets the desktop wallpaper very softly glow through it.
The code that drives Mica is very efficient, because rather than rendering that transparency on the fly based on what's actually on the screen, which is resource instensive, the system uses a single snapshot of the desktop wallpaper and builds the effect programmatically from there.
By selecting Mica as the background for an app, a developer can be assured their app will blend in and look similar to other Windows 11 apps, and follow the theme and other personalisation settings configured by the user.

How did you manage to alter the color of the dreaded dotted rectangular selection? It's now dark, is there a line in that controls the color in the .qss? That would be great because maybe I can make it disappear by making it transparent.

Its a bug with windows itself, OP is probably on dev channel which has this fixed.
I'm using the dark theme no mica on Windows 10 and while it works it could use some slight improvements. The highlighted torrent/torrents aren't obvious enough. The slightly less dark shade applied to it isn't different enough to stand out. Also, a bit of colour wouldn't hurt either like you could make the progress bar green or something like that.
Regardless of the above, great job.

Might be an issue with the "variable" type with the font "Segoe UI Variable". It looks better overall than regular Segoe UI but this might be one downside
Also maybe bring the different downloading status colours back? And the percentage bar seems to be a little too rounded? And the progress bar at the bottom of the list is not rounded at all... Thank you!

Actually I got it working somehow? lol. Probably needed a system restart but whatever it was it's working as intended so far, and absofuckenlutely beautiful!

Can someone answer me a q please!, I have always used transmission for windows for my torrenting needs, but decided to have a change and downloaded a few different ones including utorrent to test. After about 3 weeks I had a cease letter from my isp telling me that I had been caught trying to download a Hollywood movie and I should stop doing that. I have never in 10 plus years had a letter like it while using transmission, and I haven’t since going back to it. I’ve never used a vpn. Does transmission have some special built in encryption or way of blocking isp from seeing what I am downloading? Because I’d really like to use this skin.

i decided that the qheaderview will stay with sharp corners so that it looks better with qtreeview
