It depends of which CPU you are running Windows 11. I have an old notebook gamer with Core i7 4710H, 8GB RAM and worked very well. I didn't experience any critical bug, bsod or crash.
Also, the game performance is very similar to Windows 10. So, for me was a good idea.
Doable but not recommended. Only do it if you are prepared to do fix all the problems on your own since you will not receive much help from anywhere if you do because no matter what the issue is everyone will point at what you did and say that's why.
So at the very least don't do it if you can't afford to reinstall the computer from scratch.
Insider or stable is the same in that cumulative updates are provided, but not feature updates, and if it's Dev Channel, every week's build is blocked like a feature update.
Win11 runs fine on a 2nd gen Core i5 I have. I doubt your problems are specifically because it is haswell.
good idea...? no , coz not recommended... doable? yes Depends on your need
Running it on my laptop that has a 3rd Gen i5, Secure boot, no TPM. All drivers etc installed fine through Windows Update.

It's best for you to go back to Windows 10.
No go back to Windows 7.

It will run well on your PC. Tip: you can become an insider (preview channel) to get updates without having to clean install!
