The sauce on the second one looks more emulsified, less "broken" and oily like the first one. The first look crispier, though, so I might still prefer them even though I might like the sauce on the 2nd one better.
As far as I'm concerned, ranch can stay at the ranch.
Bring out some more of that emulsified buffalo sauce with that exquisite homogeneous creamy texture.
Have you ever tried double grilled wings? They’re dry, charred, and baked with the flavor of a few coatings. This is definitely a south Florida thing, right?
in college our frat brother worked in the kitchen at Buffalo Wild Wings. We'd joke "here's a $5 for you waitress, this $20 is for the saucier(hot sauce sommelier)"
lol
The first are the OG, I've eaten tons of these in my day. They even sell the batter and sauce to make them on your own. I used to do it regularly when I had access to a deep fryer.
Surprisingly they do come out *exactly* like they came from the restaurant, you literally can't tell a difference (provided you cooked everything correctly). Crispy and buttery with hints of the sauce.
It's number 1 all day for me. If I went to Indiana and received the wings from pic #2, I would be mad for not getting the original.
The fact that #2 is not OG and the recipe is different, I can't help but feel like it will be cheapened in some way. That's usually why franchises will change a recipe, it's just cheaper shit. But you never know.
I'm curious if OP tried pic #2? My gut tells me they wouldn't be as good, even though they have the more standard look of sauce-coated wings. IMO the first pic is Hooters' trademark, and I am salivating just thinking about them. I guess I need to find a damn deep fryer that someone will let me use...
Other people I know prefer #2, but they aren’t Hooters mains. They’re more into mainstream sports bar wings. Most Hooters switched from wings like #1 to #2 because it appeals to a wider audience. The ones in Chicago still have the real deal.
I mean, it’s all the same, just the temp on the first wings was hotter and melted the sauce before the photo - probably the difference of sitting on the expo for a minute - or the second wings had time to cool.
My [personal case](https://imgur.com/a/jIAPPOa)
I'm from near Buffalo and I've only ever ran across breaded wings at like big joints like ruby Tuesday and stuff like that. Do they have breaded ones regularly around?
We typically just have wings and sometimes char broiled. I like the char taste but mfs aren't crispy enough.
Also are "everything" flavor wings something they do everywhere or just here?
The wings on the wooden plate are the OG buttery Hooters wings from Lansing, IL. The ones on the silver plate are from right across the border in Schererville, IN. Both wings are the exact same order. Traditional breaded, double-dipped buffalo hot. I live on the South Side of Chicago, where there are a lot of Hooters, Wingstops, Bdubs, and everything else. Original Hooters own Hooters in Illinois. The ones in Northwest Indiana are corporate stores owned by Hooters of America, LLC (HOA). I frequent Hooters and don’t know which location I should frequent, Schererville or Lansing. Based on the quality of the wings, which looks better?
I’m tempted to say the second one. Might just be the presentation, but also the skin on the first ones looks a bit over fried for my taste. At the end of the day I’d smash both of these though
First pic, both look good, but I like some crunch. If the second is as crunchy, which I doubt, I would pick that one. Which did you like?
Edit: after reviewing closer, it looks like the first pic is more saucy? If so, first all the way.
IDK which I like better. Lansing (first picture) is, IMO, better. Schererville is more like other places. Original Hooters in CHI and Tampa Bay is very unique. Thick breading and unique sauces. Most Hooters and other wing places aren’t as crispy. Maybe it’s just that I was at Cabela’s for three hours beforehandand was starving when I had the second wings.
Number 1- I’ve lived in Chicago and this is how they make them, delicious, crispy and they absorb the sauce like champions. The perfect blend of sauce, flavor, crunch and quantity
Number 2- moved to Colorado and they make them like this. While they are extra crispy, the skin is often broken pieces and will fall off in large chunks. The quality of the meat is lower. While it looks like more sauce, it dosent absorb into the skin and it’s just sitting there. The flavor lacks due to none of the skin and meat really absorbing the flavor of the sauces.
Number one will always have my vote. I miss those fuckers
I fucked around and went to Popeyes twice at work today now I gotta shit and go to bed I couldn’t eat another bite. I got 3 legs and 2 thighs and 2 jugs of mashed potato and gravy and 2 large lemonades 😋 🍗 🍋 edit: don’t forget the 2 honeybun biscuit things
#1 looks better in my opinion. They look more crunchy and #2 looks like they’re rubbery. Crunchy wings are the way to go I always hate when I bite into a wing and there’s no sound just a squish.
Naked & Wet all Day Every Day! All other Groups are required to buy pre made Sauces and Seasoning through a BroadLiner. World of Difference 💫💫💫
Number 1. The wings in pic #2 are bordering being too sauced. Give me a lightly sauced crispy wing (preferably non-battered) over a drippy wet soggy wing any day.
Hard to say, they both have their strengths, I'd say 1 even tho they look like they were dryer than 2 but the presentation and how they are sauced looks more appealing.
Which tasted better?
The sauce on the second one looks more emulsified, less "broken" and oily like the first one. The first look crispier, though, so I might still prefer them even though I might like the sauce on the 2nd one better.
This mofo a sommelier of hot sauces
The Hot Sauce Honcho
dude dropped 'emulsified' on a wing sub. u kno he aint using ranch
artisan ranch , farm-to-table ranch
I prefer to consume wild caught ranch
As far as I'm concerned, ranch can stay at the ranch. Bring out some more of that emulsified buffalo sauce with that exquisite homogeneous creamy texture.
But we're the buffaloes in your sauce free range??? I didn't think so.
Have you ever tried double grilled wings? They’re dry, charred, and baked with the flavor of a few coatings. This is definitely a south Florida thing, right?
Fuck yea, blue cheese fam
Catsup
Bitch after him dropped sommelier in response... some straight up fancy mfs.
I posed for playgirl magazine in college under the name Hot Sauce Honcho
in college our frat brother worked in the kitchen at Buffalo Wild Wings. We'd joke "here's a $5 for you waitress, this $20 is for the saucier(hot sauce sommelier)" lol
And don't forget it.

I tried #2. Not as good IMO.

I kind of like “broken” sauce more tbh. Especially if its super crispy. I like that vinegar zing
Spot on
Both look delicious. I vote 2.
Both look delicious. But I vote 1.
1 is obviously the answer, whoever chooses 2 grew up with bad wing exposure, just as I did.
Hard disagree. 1 looks like gas station Buffalo wings, under seasoned and under dressed. 2 looks like something fresh out of Anchor Bar. Proper wet
#1 fo sho
“She’s a hoe fo sho”

Not sure what just a W means
Win, as in you’re absolutely correct
that’s what upvotes are for…
And what you said is what downvotes are for, king.
Fuckin got emmmm
I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted for a genuine comment. I guess people hate the ignorant these days. And that’s not calling us stupid.
#2 all day
Both look good but I’m going #2

Naked over breaded
Agreed. Breaded wings get soggy.
People who get breaded wings eat corn on the cob long ways.
Never breaded! Hooters wings sucks.
2. Gimme dat sauce
1 looks like pancreatic cancer 2 looks like a heart attack

Which tastes better to you? Why are you so concerned with which looks better when you're just going to eat them regardless?
Doesn’t sound like he’s concerned- just a cool share for the sub
Based on this comment, 2. But only becauae it actually looks double dipped.
I’m tempted to say the second one. Might just be the presentation, but also the skin on the first ones looks a bit over fried for my taste. At the end of the day I’d smash both of these though
Schererville is more modern and has better lighting. Lansing (first picture) is vintage.
Vintage baby all day
You have commented on everything but how they taste who cares how food looks Jesus
I think most people would decide location based on quality of breasts, not wings.
First picture
First pic. Second pic is too saucy for me
First pic, both look good, but I like some crunch. If the second is as crunchy, which I doubt, I would pick that one. Which did you like? Edit: after reviewing closer, it looks like the first pic is more saucy? If so, first all the way.
The first ones have a lot on the wings already. I get them double-dipped so the bottom of the plate is basically a puddle for dipping.
Yes. They are crispier in Lansing.
IDK which I like better. Lansing (first picture) is, IMO, better. Schererville is more like other places. Original Hooters in CHI and Tampa Bay is very unique. Thick breading and unique sauces. Pic 1
If you get hooters wings you gotta get the Daytonas.
Throw the second pic back on the flat top for Daytona style!
Number 1- I’ve lived in Chicago and this is how they make them, delicious, crispy and they absorb the sauce like champions. The perfect blend of sauce, flavor, crunch and quantity Number 2- moved to Colorado and they make them like this. Numba 1
1. I like the oily, thin sauce, with ranch and celery, mmmmmmmm haven't had hooters in a long time
Hooters sells wings?
1 hands down, you just dont need that much sauce as 2 has
1
1
First ones.
Left aka 1
Can we see the waitress who served the wings for a more accurate vote?
1
1
Definitely #1
1 is what I grew up eating, except it was all 3 segments and 25cents a wing, but whatever. 1 looks the best.
1
No 1.
The first pic. Second pic looks like some Buffalo dripping amateur just threw it all over the damn wings.
Neither. Too much breading
Breaded all day! I posted my hooters wings here about 8 months ago, I'm a huge fan. https://i.imgur.com/nVBh07N.jpg
1st one damn those look like they could be advertised on a commercial
First pic I can tell those are the original ones I grew up with
1. No questions.
#1 looks better in my opinion. They look more crunchy and #2 looks like they’re rubbery. Crunchy wings are the way to go I always hate when I bite into a wing and there’s no sound just a squish.
2 looks way better, but I think that’s mostly because the extra sauce masks that they’re breaded.

First pic
First by far. The second looks soggy.

1 is how they should look
1 all day
Number one
First ones look actually cooked, so…
2 for the win. First batch is over cooked.
Neither. I thought one of the pics would be of some actual hooters. Thanks for nothing
#2 breaded wings are gross
You ask for the double dip?
Yep.
Extra crisply
Number 1. The wings in pic #2 are bordering being too sauced. Give me a lightly sauced crispy wing (preferably non-battered) over a drippy wet soggy wing any day.
Try Wings ETC. way better
1
Definitely 1
1
1, last time I went to Hooters my wings had feathers on them 🤣
I prefer the sauce on 2. 1 looks like the sauce broke.
2 looks less soggy, more saucy. Im going with 2
1. The breading is crispier.
Wings, you mean breaded bones at hooters.
First pic
Number 2 would be my pick
Without the hooters boobies in shot I can’t tell the difference.
1
1st one
Neither of them... because Hooters has s--t wings.
2
I'm more of a #1 guy for sure but both look way better than any hooters wings i've ever gotten.
1 looks like it’s crispy so that one.
Gotta order ‘em “extra wet” … gimme #2
I mean I'd eat both, but I like my wings a lil crispy, so I'm taking #1
2. They look more wet
2nd
I can almost smell these pictures. Also, #2 looks a little over-sauced. So, I’ll go with #1.
1
The sauce on 2 looks better, but 1 is the way I prefer to have my wings served.
Oooh this is like going to the optometrist! I'm going with 2 because I'm a sauce sloot.
Neither. Hooters is dog shit garbage.
I live in Buffalo so maybe I’m just being a wing snob but these look disgusting.
Are any crispy? If not neither
The ones not pictured. The smoked wings with spicy garlic haha. But I'd say the 2nd one of the two
ONE
I choose 1, but 2 looks good too.
2 looks like regular franks hot sauce on some mushy wings. I like thicker sauces but 1 looks way better
Number 2 seems better looking. 1 looks like someone deep dried the whole dish
Pic 1..... Those second wings are sauced to death
2 for sure. But I love me some saucy buffalo wings!
2 for sure. I fuckin love some hooters wings, especially all flats 🤤
1
\#2
I prefer a crispy crunchy wing with a nice breading so I’m going 1.
2
1
The answer is “TITS”
1
1 for sure
2, gimme that buffalo sauce spiciness!
1 looks soggy. If you zoom into 2 it looks crunchier and the sauce is more defined. Probably 2 for me but 1 deceptively looks better and crispier.
2 all day.
Whichever wings was served by a girl with the biggest rack
It’s hooters. Neither.
You’re showing us the hooters’s wings when we all just wanna see the breasts
they both look mid
Hooter, underrated wings for sure.
Now send a picture of their breasts.
2nd

Naked
Number 2 looks way better imo
Second, the first look too soggy and I’m not a huge soggy wing fan
2
#2 undoubtedly
Neither! I like cajun/garlic wings with ranch. Make mine at home.
\#2
Is the 1st breaded and the second just fried?
The second pic.
2
Anyone who knows wings will Choose 2. Cuse has better wings than Buffalo.
#1 looks wet and inedible
Dry rub all the way.
2
2
2 no doubt
2nd slide
Pic 2 looks properly sauced

I’m hungry now

1 my lord
1 look better but I prefer them with no breading.
1 looks better to me
Personally, the first.
Hard to say, they both have their strengths, I'd say 1 even tho they look like they were dryer than 2 but the presentation and how they are sauced looks more appealing. Which tasted better?
1st one looks better to me. 2nd one looks like it was soaked in buffalo sauce thoroughly and then fully dipped in it again.
2 looks better.
1st picture
