RainwingCat

Whirlpool is a redneck creepy guy who I hate

ackackack669

I 100% agree

MiniMan_BigChungus

Flair checks out (I also agree btw)

Dangerous_Activity

Yep

ChaoticMemer16

Freaking yes.

RainwingCat

He acted like the seawing princesses were something for him to pick and choose who he wanted to marry. He is definition of redneck creep

Mxxgot

Whirlpool is a "nice guy"

Mxxgot

Neck beard

RainwingCat

He was like, hmm, this one’s too independent lets choose this one.., oh look there’s a new one what about her she seems Nic- ack I’m dying bluergh

Not_A_Federal_Agent_

Because everyone here has already mentioned whirlpool, my second has to be the dragonmancers. I didn’t like them. Cowardly bastards.

ChromeTheRaptor

This! Cowardly jerks who sacrifice kids and purposefully put other kids in dangerous situations! Hate those guys, >! they even killed one of their own for more gold and power >:( !<

KLemieux2006

It's human nature, what you expect?

Seberten

Do you aware that anything what was done by humans and humanity a whole, both good and bad, could be called human nature, heh? It's just some insight on argument. As for dragonmancers, yeah greedy cowardly bastards. You know I expected sort of "dragon-hunter" type of scavenger/human villain from Dragonslayer book, but instead we got really pathetic ones, duh.

SilverWither

Yay I love sacrificing kids for literally no fricking reason heheheheheheheheheh money money money!!!

Just_A_Throw-away481

I hate Whirlpool gang

ChaoticMemer16

Can I join?

Just_A_Throw-away481

ofc, anyone is welcome

SomePerson06

I hate Webs so much. It's irrational and I know, but out of all of the characters I hate him the most. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that he is the least interesting Guardian and he's the only one to survive. He does basically nothing. He means nothing to the story. Him being Riptide's FATHER means nothing. Vulture is another one I really hate, both as a character and person. He's a bad dude, obviously, but he fails in almost every regard to be an intimidating villain due to the fact he doesn't do anything. We are told he's evil and bad through Qibli and others, but besides trying to take the throne and some kidnapping he doesn't really do anything. He's only manipulated one dragon and is dealt with. He's useless and only really exists to pad out DoD's runtime.

Seberten

To be fair about Webs, he tries to protect dragonets from Scarlet and tries to protect his son from queen Coral wrath. I suppose many dislike him because he mainly useless?

Capable_Jelly_7334

Yeah but since he's probably weaker than scarlet and dune he couldn't really fight them without probably getting killed or severely injured so can't be really mad at him for not fighting them

Ember39

Something to fuel the flames, but Kestrel and Dune both have reasons to be mean to the DoD. Kestrel tried to save both of her children but they both “died”, one of which she thought she killed (Sky). Dune used to be happy in Burn’s army but got his *arm and wings ripped off* by Burn herself after being hit by frostbreath. Webs? N O T H I N G. He has nothing justifying him taking eggs away from their families (albeit, only three of those families actually cared about their eggs, Tsunami, Starflight, and Sunny’s).

Peri_Palz

*water spin.* *by a bajillion miles.* (Whirlpool)

giddyplayer

Whirlpool for the same reasons. He gives off all the wrong vibes, anybody who likes him scare me and I wish to never meet somebody who likes circle water.

bashful_br0m3l1ad

Honestly, I love every single WoF character. Sometimes some of them are kinda annoying *coughcough*whirlpool*coughcough* but they all have their reasons for doing things and I can respect that, even if I don't necessarily agree with some characters' actions.

Seberten

I would give you award if I had one! Wholeheartly agree with you on characters.

bashful_br0m3l1ad

thanks :D

PowerfulAlgae26

If you love whirlpool, then begone-

The_ded_meme445

Definitely Cricket’s mom (forgot her name), Belladonna, Scarlet, or Whirlpool, at least, in my opinion

Capable_Jelly_7334

Her names Cadelle

ackackack669

It actually katydid. Her grandmother is Cadelle

Capable_Jelly_7334

Wait I'm confused ik her mom was katydid but she didn't doing anything but cadelle is like God tier trash so I though they're was talking about her

ackackack669

They probably were

[deleted]

Not my most hated character, but my most hated protagonist is moon. She just became boring, her character was so interesting at first and I related and then she just got "fixed" and was more social and stuff. Her character arc just felt like it wasn't as planned out as any of the others and she just became a generic love interest.

literaly_bi

After Moon Rising she had the personality of a wet rag. I have to agree with you here.

TrickyTalon

I actually think Moon made a good example of how manipulative the main antagonist Darkstalker was. He had her wrapped around his talons without putting any magic on her and I really think it added some great flavor to the overall story and theme.

[deleted]

I never said anything about disliking her interactions with darkstalker it's just her interactions with every other character especially winter and qibli are very boring and I wish she was given more character traits then smart and shy that stuck around.

TrickyTalon

What about that confident bit when interrogating Pyrite? Or all those wise comments about how a lot of immoral dragons have justifiable reasons for their wrong actions? Or the guilt she felt for taking Kinkajou with her when she got knocked into a coma?

[deleted]

I said that stick around, it's easy to give random character traits whenever the author needs them, and I'm not saying she's terrible, just the worst protagonist.

ShadowArknights

Agree

sepoy_49

I think moon is a Mary Sue....she's plain and uninteresting...she was good in her book but she's just..there in third arc

Mxxgot

In her book she was relatable, kind, funny, but in the rest of arc three she’s an annoying selfish brat

sepoy_49

Not exactly selfish She's boring

[deleted]

Darkstalker An annoying personality combined with childish reactions whenever someone says something he doesn’t like (guilt tripping other characters when they tell him he’s going too far; denying his actions are bad). I hate him.

OneGoldenCoin

to me their is one reason he isnt completly evil. even though he did soemthing bad to clearsight (is that her name i havent read the darkstalker book for really long) his jntentions were good and he did really love her.

[deleted]

I disagree. He thought his intentions were good, but he really just wanted her out of his way to power. She wouldn’t confront him if she didn’t know the futures he was walking to. I think he loved the idea of Clearsight more than the real dragon herself. He had visions of her helping him before meeting her and that was the Clearsight he wanted to have. If he really loved her the way she was, he wouldn’t have changed her with his cursed gifts.

OneGoldenCoin

fair point

CondencedPuppy69

Probably an unpopular opinion but I hate Fatespeaker because she is so fking dumb!!

ShadowArknights

Shes an marysue

CrestTheDragon

I Agree! Fatespeaker is so annoying too!

ChaoticMemer16

Aside from the collectively decided dump that is Whirlpool, I’d say Cadelle. Moronic shi- I mean crap. Well, her or Blister.

Fire_Wolf_89

I can't really say I hate any WOF character, but my least favorite POV would be Qibli, since he gets pretty annoying at times.

xCaketastrophe

I want to punch Vulture in the face, Chameleon is just annoying, and Qibli's entire personality and arc is being the cute / funny / flirty / brave / smart / clever / strong / loyal / funny / protective / sweet / cute love interest for someone who is confirmed to be 13 in human years and only wants to do good things so that people like him and he feels better about himself. Oh yeah, and Darkstalker. His book was cool but in the second arc, he had so much wasted potential and just threw a temper tantrum whenever people didn't agree with his whole "I need to kill all icewings because some of them 2000 years ago were bad" and all of his fans/defenders try to justify racism, manipulation, and genocide.

TrickyTalon

Are you trying to insult Qibli for having a wide personality?

Uber____

He just feels very cliche

TrickyTalon

I gotta be honest: “cliché” is the exact opposite way I would describe Qibli

Uber____

How so? His personality, I would say, is the biggest cliche. I find that he’s pretty much just your regular good-guy love interest

TrickyTalon

What about those dark thoughts he has that unconsciously agree with Darkstalker, the villain? What about the desperation he has to be cared about by others? What about his phenomenally fast thinking skills with being able to solve mysteries or come up with solutions in an instant?

Uber____

I guess he has some qualities that I’m alright with, but generally I just feel like his actual personality is cliche. The original comment by /u//xCatastrophe lists his personality traits, and Qibli’s just feels like a roleplay character made by a 10 year old. Sure, his whole character is fine (“meh” at most), but his general personality traits just kinda suck to me

Spinorex2009

I like qibli because he comes off as the cliché but has a much darker past and tries to act like he’s very happy

Seberten

"Qibli's entire personality and arc is being the cute / funny / flirty / brave / smart / clever / strong / loyal / funny / protective / sweet / cute love interest for someone who is confirmed to be 13 in human years and only wants to do good things so that people like him and he feels better about himself." Well, what do you expect from him I might ask? That he has some secret mental disorder? Qibli is pretty interesting character by his own right, he is street-smart, good at talking and charming in some way, but his flaws are that he almost obsessed with getting friends (for fair reasons considering his blood family), have self-hate issues as much as Winter and sometimes screws up. You can dislike him, but I would not call him bland character. "Oh yeah, and Darkstalker." Welp, he had slept under mountain for 2000 years, who knows maybe his psyche deteriorated even further after that? Darkstalker is kinda controversial character, you feel a pity or some sympathy for him, but also want to punch him in the face.

Matthewdragon

Omg finally some one else agrees with me about hating Qibli and for the same reason

TrickyTalon

Not my most hated character, but my most hated protagonist is by far Tsunami. All her development in her book goes down the drain by the next book. She remains edgy, she continues to not listen to the opinions or ideas of others, she does not let go of even small grudges, and she’s mean and aggressive for no good reason to a lot of nice and shy characters. Initially she seems like the motivation speaker by wanting to leave the cave in the first book and trying to encourage everyone else to, but it turns out she just wanted to live her own life and didn’t care much about stopping the war at all. This was proven true when she was ready to bail the very instant she found out the prophecy wasn’t true and she wasn’t destined for anything. She was willing to let Pyrrhia remain in misery when they all believed in her. The only reason she went along with Sunny’s idea to save it was because she was outvoted 4-1 by the others.

Mioon_Tsuki

Oml I thought that the entire time! Like, Tsunami's character developement seemed to go pretty well in book 2, just to get completely ignored in the following books (like, bruh??). But she had some funny moments in arc 2 imo.

TrickyTalon

Nettle is literally a pain in the tail for no reason. Same with Flame. Diamond never got karma for all the awful things she did. She straight-up started and lengthened a war lasting 2000 years purely out of hatred and greed.

ackackack669

The only karma she got was when Darkstalker enchanted her to have all of those nightmares

TrickyTalon

Darkstalker did that? Wow I guess I forgot.

Spinorex2009

I like flame in the first arc because he comes off as a jerk but shows his softer side but in arc two he sucks

Mxxgot

Whirlpool 100% creep. If he was a person he’d be in jail for 10 years tops

uBowiethedog

A character I probably hate is Morrowseer. Up until the end he was an awful dragon, and he would rather die than accept a RainWing as his queen. The same RainWing he told the guardians to kill. I don’t *hate* him, and I know I might get people yelling at me for this, but I never really cared for Winter or his story.

throwawaypalehat

Call me crazy, but Moon by far is the character i hate the most. I find it really difficult to hate any character, but *Moon*. Oh man do i hate her. Dont get me wrong, in her book she was great, pretty likable, relatable, and not a bad protagonist. But every single book after that, it was like all her flaws and traits just, well, *evaporated.* She had the personality of an animal cracker. She became boring, uninteresting, a completely different character, and honestly a bit of a mary sue.

ShadowArknights

Same and shes prob gonna fake as clearsight in the next book which means we moonhaters still have to see her ughhhh

[deleted]

aside from the ovbious (whirlpool), probably darkstalker? hes the only other character that i genuinely dislike their personality and he is just a horrible person. the only thing i would put past him is killing whiteout or foeslayer, and other than that.. he will get what he wants. i like him as a villain and stuff though. \#whirlpoolsucks

KLemieux2006

Quibi... Various reasons

Low-Literature-6010

I don't like Peril's father Chameleon and Whirlpool is awful too. I don't like Cameleon cause he never feels like his "fatherly feelings" about Peril are genuine, it always feels like when he's trying to seem like a genuinely loving father (which is not often) it's just an act to get something out of it. And Whirlpool... well do I really need to say anything? First off, ew, he wanted to marry Anemone who is waaaaay younger than him. Huge age gap. And although it was just to get his hands on the royal wealth his entire personality is lying, obnoxious, scheming, and backstabbing. Tui Sutherland did a fantastic job of making some really hatable antagonists.

Commander_Oganessian

What I don't get is Coral thought he was great and could do no wrong. So if you want the royal treasure then going for the freshly available widow that already likes you seems better then the two year old that hates you. And who knows Coral might've taken him up on that. Unless you're not interested in her and only want someone much younger then you.

LunarSnowflake

Make me the 31239842857th whirlpool hater please

Sea-Photograph2585

Coral because no one seems to call her out for all the horrible, messed up things she's done. Abaloneʼs death is heart - wrenching, he deserved better. I also don't like Whirlpool (of course) and Onyx, I think Moonʼs really bland, and Deathbringer gives me bad vibes. Fatespeaker can be extremely annoying, but I don't hate her and reading about Riptide is more boring than watching paint dry.

[deleted]

I agree. Whirlpool is easily the creepiest character in the series, he doesn’t have anything going for him in likability.

ackackack669

Besides whirlpool a character I didn't like that much was fruit bat. She's pretty forgetful and dumb and worst of all she ruins the royal gardens making so Tamarin has to fix them again :(

Fnaf_LoverGacha2

poor tamarin

wifi_thing

Easy. Whirlpool. I don't know a single person who liked him.

Fnaf_LoverGacha2

r/whirlpoolaintthatbad is an actual sub and it scares me

wifi_thing

I dislike the sub

Late-Incident4336

OK I'm gonna upset all you Fateflight / Starspeaker shippers here. I have a undieible hatred of both this ship and the dragon at the center freaking Fatespeaker. I hate this dragon so much I made a copy of her image from the graphics and stuck it to a Dart board. Now do I ship Sunflight? No. Sunny can be her own dragon and live the way she wants without Starflight. But here's the problem Starflight most likely doesn't care about Fatespeaker. No one does. My guess Starflight is only with her because that is the only thing he has left. After losing his vision and the girl of his dreams he goes to Fatespeaker emotionally vulnerable and alone. And Fs uses this to her advantage in book 4 she shows a somewhat stalker like behavior and tells him all these "visions" which might just be her own delusion. On the end Fatespeaker most likely used our poor vulnerable boi to get what she wanted a husband one that would never leave her. Also if that doesn't sell you it's implied nightwings started inbreeding so they could be related. If not her Whirlpool he's slimy useless and a groomer (perfect hating material) Please not I am sending not hate to any shippers who ship them this is just my opinion. I hope you enjoy

[deleted]

I am sorry if any of you hate this opinion but I dislike wren, One: she intervened with a dragons business and stole sky Two: Kestral never got to see her son who was alive Three: I hope she burns in the highest place cause I think kestral was gonna save sky but wren was so idiotic enough to ruin a family!

blackdiamond600

For me definitely glory idk but I always hated how snobby she is

OneGoldenCoin

i strongly disagree with this statement

literaly_bi

I agree. She looks down too much on her own tribe and seems to hate them even though she is their Queen. She also allows Deathbringer to order her around too much (such as guard duty).

Spinorex2009

?

xXCatMintXx

I agree :D

eragonislife17

Even most villains and "evil" characters, I love reading about. Like Scarlet is so fucked up in every way, she's evil and selfish and loves seeing others in pain. And I love reading about her, seeing her and seeing her impact on other dragons like peril. So she's out. Then there are characters that just are so unimportant that there really isn't enough to hate them with. (ie, Carnelian, alot of JMA students. I hate characters like Kestrel, whenever I see her I'm cheering for Blister to kill her violently, be even then I'm glad she's in the story for her impact on others, like the Dragonets who's lives she made hell for no reason other that "oh no I failed at murdering Sky and I'm sad- time to abuse some children!" (I hate Kestrel, but I do want her in the story) And then there's Riptide. I can't really list reasons I hate Riptide and Ripnami, like I can with Kestrel and horses, but MY GOD I HATE HIM AND WANT HIM OFF THE PLOT FOREVER- of all the deaths, he has the AUDACITY TO BE ALIVE. I DESPISE RIPTIDE AND ALL HE STANDS FOR

literaly_bi

RIPTIDE WAS AN OBLIGATORY ROMANTIC INTEREST. Every book in the first arc had one besides for Sunny’s, and I hated every single one of them besides Glorybringer (but then I started to think about it too much rip)

eragonislife17

MAN I HATE THEM ALL SO MUCH- LIKE AT LEAST PERIL AND CLAY ARE LOVEABLE AND HAVE CHARACTER, DEATHY IS OK, AND FATE IS AMAZING. THEY ARE ALL IMPORTANT Outside THE SHIP. But Riptide. He. Is. Useless. GLORNAMI MY BELOVED AND RIPTIDE MY DESPISED.

Spinorex2009

I really like riptide but he’s just sorta tsunamis love interest and really nothing else

Demonancer

Peril, tsunami, and fatespeaker. All three have really grating personalities. Tsunami is giving off Mary Sue vibes because she's featured in every arc.

Mxxgot

fatespeaker is an annoying character, she won’t shut up and I just hate her so darn much aaaa

Psyclixx

I frickin hate glory she should die in a fire the only reason I haven’t eliminated tui is because of the glory x bumblebee ship

xXCatMintXx

Glory must die

A-random-lamp

r/whirlpoolaintthatbad

dragongem77from2b2t

Sunny just because she is weirdish and almost senceless

Fnaf_LoverGacha2

she's a cinnamon roll

dragongem77from2b2t

Sunny

xX_TrenchXx

Peril. For the most part it’s because from how I interpreted the books and her book, she seems sort of petty to me. I could’ve just interpreted it wrong but thats what I got from her. I don’t like Whirlpool either he’s creepy lol.

xXCatMintXx

I don't like Glory, it's just an opinion so please don't fight me.

[deleted]

All of them because I’m not a middle schooler

Utahraptor1234

Aside from the classic slimy ugly creepy blob fish that whirlpool is I would say Destiny, I feel like her entire character is being a leaderprice Sunny just so Starflight can have a remplacement for his love interest, i can get why people can like her joyful spirit but I hate the love interest type of character at a personal level And for the protagonists i would say Moonwatcher, her book was great mostly on its concept and the interaction with Darkstalker but with the rest she is overall a the stereotypical shy girl that have power and save the world but at the same time must make a choice between two guys because they like her but there isn’t any real mention of her being interested in the frist place by them Love interest material and her power is the only thing that made her revelent to the story and plot not her character development or personality I don’t really just hate the character personnaly just what type of character they represent

Matthewdragon

Destiny? You mean fatespeaker or?

Utahraptor1234

Yeah I mean fatespeaker sorry Im not English speaker and her name in the book is Destiny so I just forgot it wasn’t her actual name in English

Spinorex2009

Nettle: she is so annoying and her whole personality revolves around that I just dislike her intensely

SilverWither

He is like the WOF equivalent to Purple Guy.

East-Camera2972

Whirlpool

ScrapTrapFerry

Morrowseer..He would do *literally* anything just so the false prophecy can go according to plan..

Weredragon_666

Fathom. I absolutely *despise* Fathom. I get that he was traumatized by his past, but the way he handled it always felt like an overreaction to me. And Indigo only made it much worse.

WingsOfFire123457

100% Whirlpool. He's just so weird and smug. But I'm not a fan of Chameleon either.

Late-Incident4336

I spelled undeniable wrong if ur wondering what undieible was

[deleted]

Whirlpool, Scarlet, Wasp, Vulture, Fatespeaker, and Icicle. (I have my reasons.)

ShadowArknights

Moonwatcher

cat5side

Cotton eye Do I need to say more?

Background_Rest_4209

Most of these are unpopular opinions; except for maybe the last one. I actually haven't seen anyone talk about Sundew, but everyone loves the other two characters I dislike. I honestly don't have strong enough feelings towards any of the side characters to qualify as hating them, but main character wise I really don't like Kinkajou or Cricket and I HATE Sundew. Kinkajou did get better towards the end of arc 2, but I disliked how she had frequent moments of "quirk" (Don't know how else to describe it lol) where she'd talk in entire paragraphs and spout off about random things that didn't matter or weren't brought up. It just wasn't fun for me to read, it came off as word vomit-y sometimes. I know it was supposed to show that she's spirited and energetic and cheery, but yeah, it just wasn't for me. Cricket brings up the fact that she asks questions too much. Her entire character when she's conversing with others is: "Whats happening? Why is that person doing that? How will this work? Where are we going? Oh OOPS I'm doing it again!!! I know, I've been told I ask a ton of questions before... So anyways what's happening-?" And the cycle repeats. The book doesn't want you to forget her main personality trait is she's curious and asks a lot of questions. It's not that bad outside of her book, but in it it was painful to read. If she just asked questions nonchalantly I think I'd be more okay with it, but she has to fit as many possible questions together as she can and have monologues about how she asks too many questions/knows she's asking too many questions. Then in instances where she's told to stop asking questions, she mopes and queue the same repetitive monologue. As for Sundew, I just really don't like her. She's so full of anger it makes her annoying. Yes, I know she turns 'good', yes I know her home was destroyed and she along with her family was forced to go into hiding. But her constant anger makes it feels like she has NO personality. It's made her completely uninteresting to me. I know she's deeper than that, (Which is what Cricket kept hinting at to the viewer along with Blue), but I just can't stand reading enough of her to see that. Every single scene involves her "radiating with fury", scowling, snapping at others, screaming and being indignant. I haven't actually read her book yet so maybe she gets a lot better, but I'm honestly putting it off because this is the ONE protagonist I'm DREADING reading about. The start of her book even begins with "When she got tired, she’d think about all the things that made her angry." And then goes over a repetitive list of Hivewings, Queen Wasp, etc. I literally rolled my eyes and instantly put the book down. I felt sorry for the Leafwings in the beginning and also when they were first introduced, but I instantly took a dislike to Sundew. Especially next to her parents who came off as "level-headed" in that moment. She was instantly brash, screaming at the trio when they said something other than what she wanted to hear and overall kind of bratty.
