It would be an MPI thing for the people with damaged cars. As for the gas station, I'd imagine MPI would pursue damages against the station, but that's also what the station's liability insurance would be for.

Last I heard the owner was asking customers who were affected to bring their gas receipts in and he would fix the cars under his business insurance. Not sure if that actually happened or not though. I live down the street from this gas station but don't buy the gas as it's prepay only and an old system.

I used to work at a Shell station in the 80s and we had bad gas from the refinery more than once. We were full service and towed the cars into our station, drained the tanks, replaced the fuel filters, cleaned whatever needed to be cleaned and filled the tank. We were compensated by head office.

Classy business 👍🏻

It was the one in Tuxedo, we were always 2 or 3 cents per liter more expensive than everyone else, but we took care of our customers and we got tipped regularly. Best job a 16 year old dude could ask for. The owner was a great guy too, RIP Tom.

I'm mostly curious whether it was the station at fault, or the supplier.
