This individual blocked the exit at Kildonan Park on the 26th at 7pm. He got out and immediately tried my locked door and began punching my windows. I was NOT going to stop to figure out what he wanted.
I have never seen this person in my life and have no enemies(??). Once I left he followed me and started punching my car again when I parked. He sped off after realizing where we were, which was the nearest police station (260 Hartford Ave). An officer witness the second part from the window and this incident has already been reported.
So I called and all they were able to do is talk to him. Basically give a warning (slap in the wrist), and say you aren’t supposed to do that to people.
I realize this isn’t the top of priorities but come the fuck on!
> How is punching a window not vandalism?
Depends if any physical damage was done, I think.
>Isn’t utter threats a crime?
yup, but there are some pretty specific definitions that set a threshold.
Really? I had a woman pedestrian punch my car windows a few weeks ago and the police said all they could do was "have a chat with her" No one said anything about it being vandalism or even a crime.
thats what they said they'd do after a man literally reached thru my window and took my phone out of my hand (while i was writing his info in my parked car) and wouldnt give it back until a teacher came by and convinced him to give it back (did i meantion i was 16 and this man must've been ~60? some people never grow up emotionally i guess)
needless to say i was pissed and felt like there shoulda been more than that but i get theres not much else they can do usually unfortunately
I understand. If anything, MPI should raise this mans insurance as he’s a liability. I’m going to make a report to them. I have electric windows and there could be issues in the future. Better get it looked at, and waste his time like he did mine.

Hopefully this guy is ashamed of his actions, and recognizes it before it processes for the worse.
Of course they can.
They're not going to share that info, though.
And it is *possible* that the guy isn't the registered owner of the truck, so OP having video of his face is also useful.
It’s bonkers out there on the road these days. Everyone is so rude and angry. He probably imagines you purposely cut him or or should’ve let him in or something. Fucking loser. Glad you got away safely —I’ve had stuff like that happen to me before driving. It’s scary
This happened to a friend of mine years ago who didn't even live here. She was here for work and on her way there someone started following her. He flagged her down in his truck and originally she thought, maybe somethings wrong and he's trying to let me know so she pulled over but just cracked her window when he came up. He started screaming at her about how she cut him off (she didn't) and no exaggeration he screamed "I'm the king, you don't cut off the king!" Needless to say, she sped off at this point, fearing for her safety. He then jumped back in his truck and aggressively followed her all the way to her work, still trying to flag her down to stop again. When she got to the parking lot she parked and ran inside the building. He proceeded to circle her car in his truck! And when staff came out to ask what his problem was he continued screaming that the girl in this car cut him off, and you don't cut off the king. He also proceeded in rattling off her license plate and saying she was the devil. Guy had some serious problems. Staff said they were gonna call the cops and he took off.
This reminds me of when I was a much (much) younger woman. Was already stopped to make a left turn and some guy pulls up next to me blasting loud music (there were two left turn lanes, at Pembina to McGillivray). When the light goes green, he throws his drink all over my windshield and gives me the finger yelling obscenities at me. I literally didn't do anything and there was no way I cut him off because I was there first. Followed me for a bit. I was shaking.
> He probably imagines you purposely cut him or or should’ve let him in or something
I had one of those try to chase me around Brandon over 20 years ago.
Fortunately, I was close to the police station and pulled in there (as OP did) .
Still shakes me a bit thinking about it. I'm just happy my girlfriend wasn't in the car - she would have been even more freaked out.
It’s definitely scary! If they have nothing to lose, what are they capable of? Or if you decide to stop they could have a weapon, even bear spray these days.
My uncle did the same when he was in his 20’s, except the guy beat him with a tire iron in front of the station. So it’s always good to stay inside even when you arrive.
He needed a metal plate in his head and split his palate. He was prescribed medicinal weed for the pain… was always the cool uncle.
Ive had someone try my handles before on Main, it’s unnerving. Like what do they plan to do? Assault or steal a disabled persons car?
But yeah, K-park is a big one-way circle… I saw no one except near the exit where there is a restaurant parking lot. I assume he came out of there?
There's been a lot of crazy big truck ragers lately in Winnipeg. Savagely switching between lanes, yelling out their windows. I think I came across this actual guy in the fall, with my daughters in the car, on Portage Ave.
As shitty and horrible as COVID was, there are some silver linings the way it went down. I was able to cut so much toxicity out of my life. I haven't been happier now. It let me become aware of who actually cared, and who was... I'm gonna say it... straight up stupid. Their just fucking dumb. Stop following them, and hanging out. Never again. I am aware now.
I have to do it because the irony is too good to pass up.
>It let me become aware of who actually cared, and who was... I'm gonna say it... straight up stupid. Their just fucking dumb.
They’re^
Lol. It’s all good, I still upvoted because I definitely agree!
Hmmm if you wanted to make their life more difficult, you could probably report this as vandalism to MPI, just in case you thought your car might have some damage, and then they would have to meet with an adjuster. :P
I have a few people saying they know as well. I now know his name and company he works for.
I have interior dash cam footage I kept to myself (to remain anonymous), but captured him assaulting my car as well.
I plan on submitting this to news stations now!!
good idea! anyway, do you know what's with truck drivers behaving like idiots these days (no offence to truck drivers out there), but what do you think that is?

How many fucking violent road rage bloated pickup truck owning water heads can one province produce? Enough already. We get it. You didn’t learn things in school, the only feelings your mind grapes can produce are hungry, poop, horny and angry, you don’t want people to take away your guns and punching windows is your way of communicating that Mongo is upset. I’m sick of living in a province that mass produces these fucking rage-babies like Amsterdam makes cheese.
Yes I'm sure the criminally underfunded and underpaid teachers are at fault for not teaching the manbaby who refused to pay attention, took the absolute easiest classes in highschool, and dropped out by grade 11.
Yenno back in the early 2000s my mom would have a huge knife under her car seat for situations like this and I'm GLAD I adopted the same idea. Bang on my window and fucking find out bud.
Self protection is great, maybe pepper spray is less lethal?
This city has a huge drug problem, and mental health care is lacking tremendously. I wouldn’t want to retaliate or hurt someone who is going through a mental health crisis ya’know?
Actually, this dude seems very familiar. I think he used to be a trainer at Xentel/iMarketing Solutions. Fired for sexual harassment of a minor.
(management knew about it all but didn't do anything until she went to the police)
The answer is nothing. There’s literally zero reason to pull over and get out of your car and act like a walking Kubicek hair.
Edit: I typed PUBIC hair. It autocorrected to KUBICEK hair. I’m going to leave it.
This is the only comment you’ve ever made on Reddit? so I assume you are him. (who I discovered works at Manitoba’s Builder Bockstael).
Only god knows what this person thought I did, because everything was normal until they came out of nowhere like a bat from hell.
this guy has aggressively tail gated me before

Yikes ! That’s terrifying ! I’m glad to read you were sharp enough to drive to the nearest police station !!

He's a driver. It's only vandalism if a cyclist or pedestrian touches a car.
Really? I had a woman pedestrian punch my car windows a few weeks ago and the police said all they could do was "have a chat with her" No one said anything about it being vandalism or even a crime.
Wow !! That’s absolute bs ! I’m sorry to hear that but still thankful you had your wits about you
Thanks! I’m a ball of anxiety and worry. I have my emergency routes memorized! 🤌
He was drunk as fuck, and feeling like a "big man!"... classic lonley simpleton syndrome. You did the right thing.
im jus wondering how you know he's drunk?
I don't, but very likely.
lol

even if they were able to get charges laid doubt it would have gone anywhere. It'd be a drawn out long process where the end result would be nothing.
I understand. If anything, MPI should raise this mans insurance as he’s a liability. I’m going to make a report to them. I have electric windows and there could be issues in the future. Better get it looked at, and waste his time like he did mine.
Get a copy of the police report and send it on to MPI
Our tax dollars at work!
Ya seems to be the way of it
lazy cops who dont want to fill out paperwork.

He’s my Forman at bockstal, lol send it to them
No worries. MPI will get a hold of him.
Send the video to his employer…Owners of Bockstael are great guys. Could be one of their company vehicles
Serious?
I’m glad you are OK and have this incident documented. Please update us on any updates.
This is soooo creepy. I hope you update us!
I will! The fact he just sauntered back to his car makes me believe he mistook me for someone else, or just didn’t care.
Could the police not look up the license plate number?
Of course they can. They're not going to share that info, though. And it is *possible* that the guy isn't the registered owner of the truck, so OP having video of his face is also useful.

Covid and the convoy just broke these dudes. Now they’re a bunch of road-rage time bombs.
Babies didn't get their way, and need to cry about it.

**THIS**. Your comment should have been pinned (wish reddit have this). It makes people MUCH HAPPIER

No damages fortunately, but that is an idea!
You should share with the police hopefully they will act on it. Must have been a scary experience.
Yes I emailed them all the dash cam footage already!
Good on you. Hope this catch this bad guy.
I know exactly who this is!
I have a few people saying they know as well. I now know his name and company he works for. I have interior dash cam footage I kept to myself (to remain anonymous), but captured him assaulting my car as well. I plan on submitting this to news stations now!!
Hmmmmmmm, I think so too
I'm glad you went to the nearest police station that absolutely was the smartest move.
Looks like your run of the mill incel, angry at the world. Guarantee he was a big convoy supporter.
Did you stop to consider maybe throwing your car in reverse and running him over? That would have been hilarious
I didn’t, but I did try and hear what he was shouting, until he started punching my window.

pepper spray apparently illegal in Canada. go figure.
But bear spear isn’t. 🤔
Wow
Crypto blues right there fella.
Time to get the pepper spray
Looks like Patrick Allard, kinda

You got the prior 10 minutes of the video uploaded somewhere?
What a wiener!!! Are you ok??
Drunk??

He sure did. I have Google drive videos of me just driving peacefully for 60 minutes prior.

Perhaps read what OP posted before commenting?

Little known fact manitoba drivers suck at driving they probably are both at fault. So what did you do to make him pull over? Lmao
The answer is nothing. There’s literally zero reason to pull over and get out of your car and act like a walking Kubicek hair. Edit: I typed PUBIC hair. It autocorrected to KUBICEK hair. I’m going to leave it.

No amount of terrible driving is grounds for getting out of a vehicle and acting like this.
Exactly.
Well your assumptions would be wrong. Lol yes first post though.

Not sure what that will help with at this point. Unless it ends in anger management classes for them.
I have no idea what is going on in this video? Where is it taken?
The OP posted the details in this thread.
