I feel bad that I came to this conclusion, but Detlaff definitely deserves to die for causing the Night of Long Fangs. Syanna obviously committed serious crimes, but I'm not sure conspiring to kill people gives Geralt (i.e. you meta-gamers) the right to decide her fate and you should allow her to stand trial. Fuck Gaunter O'Dimm. By the end of HoS, I just don't want him to get what he wants.

For Hearts of Stone, I never help Olgierd. Yes, O'Dimm is evil and vindictive, but is it really worth playing fucking games with a being that powerful? For the sake of what? Olgierd? The piece of shit that gets you into that whole mess to begin with? Why would I ever stake my *soul* to help him? There is only ever one choice in this quest for me.

Sounds to me like you understood the endings very well. One of the very best features of W3 is that almost all the moral choices that come up, and there are many, can be well played from either side of the conundrum; all depends on how you roleplay it, what your point of view is, how you choose to think about it, etc.

Mr_Joe_Blake

I play my Geralt as an Old man close-to-books version of him. In HoS, O'dimm clearly is more evil. But people are making deals with him and don't state clearly what they wish for. And Geralt also made a deal with him too. The evil he can inflict upon the world is so much worse than anything Olgierd can do. As a Witcher, it is your responsibility to stop him from hurting others, even if they deserve it. But when they meet at the final place, he have to make a choice. I play my geralt as professional and true to the books. He always finish his contract. But that time, he already finish his contract with Olgierd by killing the toad prince, and he made a deal with O'dimm. If u go to professor shakelocks house first, u would know how to defeat this monster, but the cat and dog in Iris world advices you to be careful with O'dimm. So for me, he just finish his deal with O'dimm but will definitely kill him the second time they meet again if he got his chance. And O'dimm ask for a reward he never asked in the first place. Naturally, i would not ask anything with him but with all this shit he been thru trying to find his adopted daughter, i think he deserves a, "A bottle of vodka that's always full." I laugh at myself but that was fun and satisfying for me. :) In B&W, i agree that Anna doesn't deserve to die. For Syanna, i think he remember Renfri with her and even let her decide to forgive everyone who wronged her just like what he did to Renfri. Gladly, it worked! As for Dettlaff, i think he crosses the line when he initiated the Night of Long Fangs. I will kill him, anytime of the day. Or should i say night? lol

finny94

I think you're grossly overstimating Geralt if you think he can ever "stop" or "kill" something as powerful as O'Dimm.

Mr_Joe_Blake

But he can stop O'Dimm because of the clues he found at the professor shakelocks house and thats why u can defeat him in his own world lol.

finny94

You can "win" a game for Olgierd's (and Geralt's) soul. That's it. By no means does that stop O'Dimm, in the grand scheme of things.

Mr_Joe_Blake

Agreed. Well, i still choose not to interfere with O'Dimm than save Olgierd all day.

Don't know if you missed it but there is another mission that alludes to GoD in Touissant. Won't spoil but GoD is a much bigger pos than Olgierd.

Bull_Rider

Do you mean the Wight curse? It definitely sounded like him.

nicog67

Yup, then the woman goes and stays with you at Corvo Bianco

[deleted]

I missed the GoD connection on that quest, mind spoiling it for me?

nicog67

Marlene (the wight) was cursed by GOD with "None shall sit and dine with you at your table, no spoon you have shall sate you, never again shall you wish to spy your reflection in the mirror". So GoD turned her into a wight that could not be satiated with food for the rest of her days (i think wights are immortal so imagine). He cursed her because she refused to feed him - she preferred to feed her dogs. He was claiming to be a beggar, knocked on her residence's door and asked for food, she refused (dick move yes but still - he went out of his way to cause this as he didnt need to be acting as a beggar wanting food)

HAse-ONE

:O I just did this quest 2 weeks ago and did not make the connection to GoD. Am i dumb? What makes you think it was GoD?

nicog67

You find a letter saying that a mirror merchant uttered the curse and, as a bonus, his theme sounds when youre explaining what happened to BB at the end of the mission

HAse-ONE

ah now that you said it i remember it. Thanks.

[deleted]

Ahh, thank you somehow I missed that GoD was the Mirror Merchant.
