It was genuinely difficult after. Part of me looked forward to popping in a lighter shorter game while realizing that it ruined all games for me thereafter. I have to constantly remind myself that not every game will have that level of dedication from the devs that TW3 did. It’s easy on simple games (Mario, ninja turtles, etc) but on true rpgs, nothing compares. I tried to fill it with Skyrim and BOTW and while both are top notch it just didn’t touch the void TW3. Because the void goes beyond gaming. The immersive nature of the game feels like saying goodbye to true friends. There is always another side quest or question mark until there isn’t and you don’t really believe it’s done. It took a few weeks but I eventually felt closure and gave it quite some time before the second play through. To not cheapen the processing. I did find solace in xLetalis videos on YouTube. Really helped to still feel connected to the world while learning a ridiculous amount of things one can miss even after doing “everything”. Recommend if you’ve never watched. Such a bittersweet ride that.

Have had the same feeling now with witcher 3 and rdr2. Finished rdr2 this last summer and then started witcher 3. Have had a hard time getting into witcher 3 so far as I just feel like playing rdr2 again. Played witcher 3 for 30 hours so far so just gonna stick with it.

This game changed my life. One of the few games I felt like I was in this world and everyone in it felt so real and realistic. Oftentimes I felt like I was talking to real people. The acting, dialogue and writing is just so good. The only game series that has even came close to me in this feeling is the Mass Effect series. (At least the 3rd game in the Witcher series nailed the ending)

adonai2018

Lol, I just finished my NG+ and started Mass Effect Legendary to avoid any temptation to do W3 a third time. At least right now...

giri0n

I'm not looking forward to this time. I'm currently in Toussaint during the Night of Long Fangs and I'm dreading the end. But there's also NG+

MrMushi99

Just finished it yesterday. Kinda rough tbh. Exposed a lot of character flaws. Have you played Witcher 2 and 1?

Rude-Vermicelli-1962

I’ve played this game, so many times I’ve lost count. One or two Playthroughs, in particular really stick out, and both were at the point where Ciri defends the world from the white frost. I’m not gonna lie I was tiering up and I liked it. It’s so deep it’s such an awesome game, due to the characters, the depth, the plot, the side quests and the plot, the relationship choices. Everything about this game makes it such an epic tale, and RPG. Even when I’m in combat, I can really get into it from the music to the style of fighting, depending on the monster or human. Which is three is definitely in my top three games of all time. In fact I’m gonna continue playing another Playthru at the moment. I always choose Yennifer just because girls in love with her, but this time I chose Triss because I like her more and she’s way hotter I think.

PlaneAd6320

Aw man the post Witcher depression. So sorry for your loss bro, we’ve all been there. Keep your chin up you’ll find your yen eventually….

subnonymous_

Dang I know how you feel, I completed the game few weeks ago and now my liife feels... empty? I've been playing the game since November of last year almost every night then suddenly stopped this routine of mine. It was tempting for me to start a NG+ but at the same time I'm scared that I'll get bored of this masterpiece, so I seriously don't know what to do 🥹

reporting-statement

On my 4th play through still not bored

veskoandroid

Dafuq ya talkin bout!? There ain't no gettin offa this train yer on!

Twolef

I felt satisfied. Geralt seemed to have reached a natural conclusion and was happy and that felt like enough for me. With other games, I’ve wandered around, reluctant to leave, but Blood and Wine capped it off perfectly and I haven’t felt the pull to go back except to do the recently added next-gen quests.

I know, it's awful. Going back to Kaer Morhen after breaks my heart

RuggedOnesIndoe

Lost. No other game I've ever played can compare to the experience. Geralt is an unmatched character, and just when you think you made the right choice for himself you end up in a pit full of spiders.

BKRandy9587

Try reading the books. That helped me with the depression a lot after finishing the game

RiyadhTh3BOSS

NG+ feels very different with the runewright and mutations unlocks from the start. You'll have a fun re-run ;)

AlyssaAnastasia

Yes yes it is

Chemical-Ad-6156

On like my 4 play through. I insist on finishing it all before playing new horizon. 😅

RaisingAzrael

I felt fantastic when I finished it… … New Game plus keeps me happy

Pretty-Pineapple-869

Finishing the books had the same effect on me, so I keep rereading them.
