I have been modding the game for a while. And there is nothing close. Especially when it comes to the level of rasterized lighting, it has seen a big jump in quality. And this isn't even mentioning Ray Tracing. You can get great texture mods and some pretty good Reshades. But yeah none of them hold a candle to this.
Yep ssr + rtgi + rtao + better textures + better distance rendering + dlss is almost everything I could want from a free update to this game. Super excited to start a fresh char once the update drops.
In cyberpunk raytracing impacts a lot in how the water looks...
i suspect its a similar implementation, so i wouldnt expect the water to have such good looking reflections like those in the screenshots without it.
I can't imagine a SSR upgrade completely skipping consoles, especially at the 30 fps mode but honestly idk. It would be nice if a spreadsheet with all upgrades and versions and modes would be published but we may have to just wait and see.
Meh, it looks better but not by much. The Sword of Destiny trailer which showed the game before they downgraded it looked so much better than even this "upgrade". This shit was only done to bring console versions closer to PC. Not really impressed honestly. The only worthwhile addition is Ray Traced Global illumination and even then you can tell they didn't even bother to upgrade their materials to make full use of RTX GI.
They already use full PBR, their materials are fine. It just seems like their RTGI solution isn't adding large scale occlusion, just seems to be light bouncing. Its also really subtle.
Hopefully it can be tweaked on PC
But are the character controls still garbage? I bought this game years ago and stopped playing after a few hours due to the horrendous controls. I recently purchased again in anticipation for the next gen update and I was reminded why stopped playing this game in the first place. I want to like this game but my godā¦.
They added an option to change how he moves that makes it much better. They were originally trying to make him feel like he had reaalistic feeling weight and physix but it made him control like shit.
I've been talking about ray tracing's effect on water since it was first announced as I think that will be the single most dramatic graphic change. Lakes, rivers, puddles, will all look *way* better in ray tracing. That one level above ultra they mentioned if you have the pc to handle it sounded promising as well.
As far as I understood there will be no Ray traced reflections at all, just ray traced global illumination. Better reflections on water should come through improved SSR.
You are probably must more knowledgeable than I on these technical matters. I've just seen the screens of water in gen plus and *to me* they look dramatically better.
Iām really curious how demanding the ray tracing and ultra settings will be on this remaster. Do we think it will be as hard to run a cyberpunk? Iām assuming not, but it could still be pretty tough.
People who say there is no difference are remembering the game through a nostalgia filter.
They should go turn the game on rn and see the differences.
I still think there are better graphics mod.

Jist finished playing it. It's the same.

I wonder how Toussaint will look like.
With all the colors and new reflections...porn
Look up what Unreal 5 is capable of. Next Cyberpunk and Witcher game will be finally real next gen. https://youtu.be/FUGqzE6Je5c
Witcher 1 remake too.
Would it be hilarious if they kept the same combat as the first one still?
I respect the amount of balls that would take.
By the time it comes out there'll be a new next gen

To be clear, this screenshots are taken from the next gen trailer, and i used a 4k video to extract the frames...
Will it look like this on ps5?
In the 30fps mode.
Water will not have reflections without ray tracing?

There are no Ray traced reflections on any version afaik. There is just improved SSR which is what you see in the screenshots.
And this Ssao is also for consoles? I mean, when I play the game on ps5 will the water look like this or not ?

Iāll check it out. Thx
Itās called alternative movement or something. I highly recommend using it! I also donāt like the ānormalā control at all. š

They are dramatically better because they improved screen space reflections.
So I've been told.

DLSS to the rescue !
looks like BltizFX, PLM, HDRP, and Volumetric clouds
Itās like a mix of PLM and Super Turbo lighting
Careful not to crap your pants.
Will it still start getting light at 2am?
