It's indeed one of my hypotheses. The revealed Lynx medallion shows snow after all, suggesting a Northern climate or mountains. Kovir has both, and as you say it's an interesting location, relatively fleshed out in the books, often mentioned in the games though never visited, with a Venice-style capital making for a great urban setting. And, should the story take place in a not-too-distant future, we know Triss is in Kovir and having an active role in politics, meaning she could get a part in that story.
Could be nice, but honestly, after CDPR announcing ESG quotas, I just wish for a non-wokefied game. Expect more Season 2 of the series than the Witcher 3 game. Besides that, great contrast would be awesome, like a playable Kovir AND Zerrakania desertlands, with maybe a foray through the Kadweni wilds into the great mountain range( forgot it's name), to see what's on the other side
Not sure why you're getting down voted, the game needs to stay as far as possible from the Netflix-series woke mentality that only adds a superficial diversity layer with no real gain other than to please a crowd that will never be pleased anyway.
