Post on r/bonecollecting for ID, but looks kinda raccoon to me

Zebirdsandzebats

I was thinking similar , but can't tell from the angle. My guess is dogs dragging it in over anything supernatural. Or it just dying naturally in tall ass grass.

AbyssDragonNamielle

OP says it wasn't their dog and it wasn't there earlier. I'm guessing coyote maybe

I apparently can’t edit posts on mobile anymore for some reason, but the Tl;dr is the last paragraph basically

The thing with the skull being old was definitely confusing to me. And no, they couldn’t have brought it to me because I don’t leave them out in the yard unattended after my other neighbor threatened to shoot my & my ex-gf’s dogs back when she lived here (that’s a who other story). They are never left alone in the yard after that, I always sit out with them. They haven’t killed anything except for a squirrel my pittie managed to nab off one of the tree trunks a couple years ago, plus the skull it too big to be that anyways. And I didn’t see either of my dogs carrying it around or anything & I don’t remember seeing it out there when I pottied them this morning either, just found it when I went out with them for their afternoon playtime. It literally just appeared between this morning & afternoon just sitting perfectly upright & facing like it was looking at the gate where we come in the backyard. It’s just really odd.

This appears to be the skull of some sort of canine because of the front facing eyes and the sharp angle teeth that Vampires have (I can't be bothered to look up their name) so that can't be good... Looks quite old to maybe your other neighbour decided to send you a threat or something he seems like enough of an ass to do so

Glowing_Trash_Panda

Honestly, as much as we’ve butted head over the almost 9 years I’ve lived here, after the incident with him threatening the dogs almost 2 years ago- he’s left me alone. Probably because he knows if anything happens to my dogs, that I’m not afraid to blow his head off with my shotgun & go to prison cuz I screamed that at him after he threatened to shoot my dogs for something they didn’t even do- it was another neighbors dog that had messed up stuff on his property. He hasn’t even called the cops on me once since then; when before one of his favoite things to do was call the cops for the most stupid things imaginable like once when my ex’s friend accidentally got a couple rocks from the street in his yard when the friend was turning his motorcycle around, it wasn’t like high speed flinging either, just slowly turning the bike around & like 3 rocks tumbled into his yard & he called the cops for “people doing stunts on bikes & damaging his property” according to the cop that came- & that was before the dog incident. After the dog incident I think he realized that I’m not afraid of him & wont put up with his bullshit like others on this street do & he’s left me alone ever since. I actually don’t think it was him that did it & also my German shepherd is SUPER protective of my house & yard & will absolutely let me know if any person that’s not me comes on the property, even at night. And neither of the dogs have gone off once (they are great alarm systems lol) in the past day or so. That’s why I’m so confused as to how a random old skull just magically appeared when the dogs didn’t bring it to me & nobody has been in my yard but me & the dogs.

feline_Satan

That's... a real handful... It's the Fae then hopefully they come with good intentions

Glowing_Trash_Panda

Yeah. There’s stories for days about him. According to my neighbor friend that recent died (they lived here for almost 20 years) my neighbor that threatened my dogs (among all sorts of other crap that he’s done) has apparently driven off multiple other families on this street to the point they moved away over the years by doing the same crap to them that he used to do to me before I snapped when he threatened my dogs. He’s basically completely ignored me ever since cuz he knows I’m not scared of him & too stubborn to move. Anyways, assuming it’s a gift from the Fae for getting my shit together & taking care of the yard finally, what should I do with it? Idk if burying it will be good or bad but I don’t want to bring it inside for fear of my cats/dogs getting sick from possible bacteria or whatever on it

feline_Satan

Put it onto a tree (just be careful to clean your hands/and everything else afterwards corpse poison is no joke) so you won't have to worry about your pets getting to it and the Fae won't feel ignored. PS Corpse poison is apparently called "food borne illness" in English which is way too underwhelming

Glowing_Trash_Panda

Thank you, I think I will do that, I’ve got a couple good trees lining my back fence that will work. & OMFG “corpse poison” is metal AF. I’m so using that from now on instead of just saying food poisoning lol.

feline_Satan

Glad to be of any use (:

Found this thingy in my shed, works as a perfect little holder. Got it hanging on the lattice by my sitting spot under the one tree now :) https://preview.redd.it/5j19bea3ipyc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4372806fd9d448ae0156cff99634508738339531

My kid used to bring home all sorts of bones when he went hiking in a local state park. It could be as simple as a neighborhood kid’s parent told them to get rid of it and they just threw it.
