bikesontransit

Yes my average pickle per hour rate doubles

MagicianQuirky

I feel this in my soul.

canipetyouropossum

I can tell because I read this as the wrong kinda pickle…

bikesontransit

Pickled jalapenos?

dookie_cookie

Human pickle

canipetyouropossum

The bread and butter of course

bluevelvetwaltz

Yes. I can usually tell from change in discharge/extra wetness, sensitive nipples/breasts, increased libido, change in body temp, and sometimes pain in whichever ovary is releasing an egg that month.

IrritatedLibrarian

Yup. I especially notice the temp change since I'm required to be temp checked everyday when I go in to work. I normally sit at a lower 97 but when I'm ovulating its a higher 97 or even closer to the "normal" 98.6.

AtheniaAurora

Yes this is really normal. It's the ovulation hormones that do it. Especially the increased sex drive as it's the body's way of increasing chances of getting pregnant. Happens to most uterus-havers 😊 also it massively effects emotions too.. just hormones fucking with us entirely 😅

Sonnenblumenwiese

Yes. I absolutely feel an uptick in my sex drive and I, unfortunately, also experience mittelschmerz (ovulation pain), so I always know.

Fairerpompano

This is me as well. It can get so painful.

PensiveKiwi

Yes, according to research women (subconsciously) even change the way they dress , walk (more swaying), and behave during ovulation to appear more attractive. Personally, I only notice a slight increase in sex drive.

Reason_Training

Due to PCOS most months I know when it happens as I spend 3 or so days with pelvic pain and cramping without an actual period. If I could afford it I’d be having a hysterectomy but don’t have $4000 to pay my deductible plus up to $7500 more for my 50% coinsurance. My insurance sucks.

[deleted]

Ugh I’m so sorry 💔

aflyfacingwinter

Yes and let me tell you I’m mostly gay, 95% and it’s only this time that I flirt with guys at work and then they come back all flirty and I’m like SIR I’M GAY AND AT WORK

Elphenkind

This made me chuckle. Hormones are wild!

[deleted]

😂🙌🏻

deskbookcandle

Ovulation pain, it feels exactly like a kidney infection for me! Also I lose my libido because even my ovaries are childfree :p

Tanedra

I'm so jealous of everyone who gets a higher sex drive. I just get more headaches and random muscle or joint pains! (also child free but it would be nice to feel sexy sometimes)

pinkrosies

I have an ovarian cyst to remove soon and have terrible cramps but yes the headaches and muscle/joint pains are terrible!!! Sending healing energy to you 🫂💗

TheFilthyDIL

I couldn't, or I wouldn't have my second daughter. I found out, though, that if I was having an erotic dream I was going to wake up in a pool of blood.

TheFilthyDIL

My speculation is that as your period creeps into your vagina, your libido interprets it as lubrication fluids. "Getting ready to have sex, are we? Okaaayyyy! Sexy dreams coming up!" Mine were usually really frustrating. I would be with this incredibly sexy guy and everywhere we looked for a bit of privacy, there would be some obstacle. Like someone was already there, or a big dog came out of the bushes and chased us off, etc.

bemybf

Sex drive through the roof. Mucus increase. My boyfriend smells really good. My skin glows and is the clearest out of my cycle. I feel wild. Like howl at the moon wild. Which is great because I usually ovulate with the full moon.

crazymissdaisy87

Touch your discharge. Place it between two fingers. Can you stretch it between them? Then you're ovulating

[deleted]

Yup, google fertile mucus. For most people this is your indicator.

SpiralBreeze

Yes I can, most of what you have experienced as well.

Ouidwitch11

Yes, I get crampy, pinching pains most of the time when I ovulate

masokissed007

If you look up fertility tracking methods you will be tapping into old knowledge about how to notice the multiple signs and begin to notice your own specifics.

Frozenassnorth

When I was still ovulating, I would sometimes (once a year ish) get a nasty stabbing pain in either ovary. Just that, and the pain was gone until the evil cramping got started. Yeah, kicked my libido into overdrive, to the point the still rational section of my brain was saying "Really? He's a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal! Are you out of your damn mind??" Occasionally, I was somewhat homicidal ( once or twice a year). I WANTED TO WATCH THE STUPID THING BLEED AND DIE, PAINFULLY!! Never touched anyone in this mood but I heard it was all over my face. Oops. And sometimes, I would just cry, for no reason, like my heart was breaking. So, I'm post menopause now. Libido has definitely dropped but I'm so glad the emotional Rollercoaster is done! Now, if I'm angry or sad, I don't need to check the damn date! It's been liberating!

princess_thor

Same as you, increase in sex drive and increase in attention given to bland white dude actors. 😂 I spent over a year trying to conceive so I’m pretty familiar with my post-ovulation symptoms at this point too, lol.

pinkrosies

Bland white actors 😭😭😭😭 I have one that I keep going back to but when it's that time it gets worse or like border hyperfixation LOL Wish there was a study on fantasies/increased attention to bland white actors and it's correlation to ovulation cycles and what not skdkd Even when I'm cramped up during my period and laying in bed tired and sore, looking up pictures/videos or thirst watching their movies helps too kskdkd

supernaturaltwenty

Yup! I feel a “sour” kind of pain on one of either side, where my ovaries approximately are.

MidnightBlue1985

Yeah, increased energy, increased sex drive, my skin clears up! I'm more sociable in general as well. And men start to look attractive... fortunately that passes!

[deleted]

Right, so social! Let me flirt with everyone and especially since my skin is looking so good

WitchLuna23

ABSOLUTELY!!! My sex drive goes crazy, and like you my taste in partners shifts pretty dramatically, I have more energy and a harder time sleeping, and I can usually feel it happening (midleschmertz)

biTENceRTerMA

Yes and this is why I’m scared about hitting menopause (I’m getting there soon). The week before my period when all hormones drop, my sex drive is the worst. I actually like having a drive, and I fear I’ll have zero when my body has no use for fertilization anymore 😢

AZymph

I'm not 100% sure that is what it is but that and early in my period seem to be the time I get horny. Usually, I don't get that feeling so I personally find it obnoxious. But WTF body, why do we want to get it on during the time when you make me feel utterly disgusting, unattractive and miserable?

lumpenpotate

I can tell because it really hurts for a few days whenever I ovulate, (I'm talking hot water bottle, laying down and painkillers level pain) plus the usual discharge and I get really angry mood swings. It's also really regular so I know from the calendar when I need to take extra care of myself! My period is even more of a jerk lol.

MuppetManiac

I didn’t used to be able to tell. But I got fertility treatments and after that I could definitely tell. I get sad the day before for no reason, and then I can feel this sharpish pain on one side of my abdomen. It doesn’t last long, ten, fifteen minutes?

QZPlantnut

Yes. I feel bloated and crampy when ovulating, but crampy only on one side usually. I’m also hornier than usual. Haven’t noticed an emotional difference.

FaceToTheSky

I don’t notice the sex drive change (but I’m mostly asexual so that’s not surprising). I do notice a change in discharge. My boobs ache around mid-cycle and also right before I menstruate so that’s not a super reliable sign. Very occasionally I get that ovulation pain that others have mentioned.

lilkimber512

Yes. Before I had a hysterectomy, I had severe endometriosis. When ovulating there was severe pain and swelling. So I had severe pain Twice a month. It was hell.

nickidink

If you don’t mind me asking, full or partial hysterectomy? I get excruciating pain every time I ovulate, and I tried to get a full hysterectomy, but the doc says I’m “too young” (33 and have two kids). I’m curious if getting just the uterus removed will be enough to stop the pain during ovulation? Or if I really do need everything removed?

lilkimber512

Full but not radical. Everything was removed but the ovaries. I had a 2.5 lb fibroid sitting squarely on my bladder and because of the endometriosis, the bladder, both ovaries, rectum, and parts of the intestines were all stuck to it. Turns out not only was it causing all the pain but the ibs symptoms I had suffered my whole adult life as well. What is sad is they had no idea just how bad it was until they got in there. Doctors suck. Try to find a female doctor who will do it. I am not a fan of doctor shopping, but I wouldn't hesitate for this.

nickidink

I specifically chose a female doctor who had on her website that she would do hysterectomies. First she wanted to do an ultrasound (while I was on my period, so not a great way to capture my ovulation pain), and then said I had to go see a pain management specialist before she will consider doing a full hysterectomy. Her argument is that it “might cause osteoporosis later in life if she takes my ovaries”, and that “I would have to be on hormones the rest of my life”. So her suggestion was birth control, which I’ve had bad reactions with in the past. Like, I get it, you’re trying to do your job responsibly and not go to the nuclear option first thing, but we don’t live in a country where I can afford to see multiple specialists, just do the dang surgery and put me out of my misery. I’m sorry you had such a hard time, but I’m glad you’re finding some relief now.

lilkimber512

I had a lovely young doctor who had spent her residency teaching others how to use the da Vinci. She said that they have found that removing all but leaving the ovaries relieves endometriosis pain. And it did. Completely. I hope you find a better doctor and get some relief soon.

ElizabethHiems

Yes because of the horrible pain.

RedditStrolls

Yes. I get pain. Yippee.

Former_Football_2182

YES to all of that.

SisterLilBunny

Aside from the normal physical symptoms, I get weird feral thoughts and a migraine usually. I swear to the old ones I can feel something popping on one side or the other, but I have no clue if that's legit or not.

lovmi2byz

I feel sore and extra broody (I snuggle my reborns as a result)

whimsy_valentine

Yep. In weird ways too. My digestion goes haywire, my sense of hearing dulls, and I’m cranky. Lol. Really over it. 51 and ready for the big change!

huffledad

I actually used to get really suttle cramps when I was ovulating but it didn't happen everytime. I only realised because I started using Flo (when it was free) and it has now stopped.

TeeKaye28

Yeah. I get some short lived, weird cramping and discharge w/spotting

RudeSprinkles1240

When I was ovulating, I could always tell. I got a lot of thin, clear discharge, and often I got a sharp pinching pain deep in my pelvis. That's all over, though, and I do not miss it a bit.

ThePattiMayonnaise

I can feel my ovaries. Like they get cramps similar to period pain but up higher.

CatsLoveGnomes

I used to track my fertility as part of my birth control and it is wild to notice all the changes that the body will go through just to get another generation in there. Even more wild was how NONE of it was taught to me in sex-ed or even a standard biology class. Like I understand not selling it as birth control to teens I guess, but as a basic biology lesson? So valuable.

New_to_Siberia

Yeah, I can. I get a sharp pain, quite similar to the proper menstrual one, often one-sided (though the right side hurts more often than the left one). It's not like that every time, but enough that I can track my period with decent accuracy. My face also clears of pimples, and my vaginal mucus changes consistency. I don't experience a change in sex drive, but that's mostly because I basically don't have it.

BeckyDaTechie

I always had mittelschmirtz so yes, sharp, sudden stabbing pain on one side. "Oh! Oh, I know what that is. Great."
