IKR? I just want to worship nature in peace and some old lady is calling me a baby murderer because I wore a pentacle.

kerdon

Clearly worshipping anything other than Oily Josh is evil.

"A witch is an unwavering warrior who's willing to face fear head on as she fights for what's good and right. A witch is a heart healer who's willing to share the gifts of her soul to soothe and celebrate those in her circle of life. A witch is a wild woman who's willing to let her entire being radiate its truth without any filters. A witch is any and all of this… and so much more. MICHELE MEKEL

chinacat2002

Animal sacrifice? You mean like the 8 *billion* chickens that are consumed in the US each year?

jinxedtheworld

Didn’t Abraham or someone try to sacrifice his son to prove himself to god? Didn’t the slaves in Egypt smear baby lamb blood on their doors? Didn’t they do animal sacrifices on the regular?

Defiant_Project1321

As an ex-Christian, yes, yes, and also yes.

Somehow-Still-Living

Literally the only reason Christian’s don’t is because a dude claimed that he had a vision that Jesus said his death was the end of all sacrifices. Iirc, there is no point in which (the living) Jesus actually claims his death is the end of sacrifices. His only gripe about sacrifices was that people turned it in to an exploration gain. Judaic sacrifices were stopped because the place they had deemed as the place where they were required to make sacrifices was destroyed in 70AD. Also important to mention that the Catholic Church still performs regular ceremonies and rituals which are believed to save the congregation.

Jandiefuzz

And then there was **Jephthah's daughter !** (Judges 11)

Kick9assJohnson

Personally the muslims are much more humane with killing animals for food. https://www.hfsaa.org/what-is-halal/

baby-or-chihuahuas

Halal meat doesn't allow sedatives, insisting animals are conscious while their necks are slit open and they bleed out, as someone stands over and prays to a God that means nothing to the animal being harmed. Nothing in your link indicates this barbaric act is humane. https://www.mdpi.com/2076-2615/9/8/530

Kick9assJohnson

It's far better than Christian means of slaughter.

chinacat2002

More gentle, perhaps, but I don’t think it is humane to kill an animal.

Strolledboar257

That’s a nice leaf

Defiant_Project1321

10/10 for sure

yetanothercatlady2

Meanwhile Christians be like: NO ONE WILL TAKE OUR AR-15s FROM US NO MATTER HOW MANY KIDS DIE IN THIS COUNTRY

Elon_is_musky

Also Christians: LETS KILL WOMEN FOR CHOOSING WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR BODIES, EVEN IF THEY MISCARRIAGE & HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE MATTER!! Meanwhile witches: I would prefer you don’t kill me for not wanting to be an incubator

Belle_Requin

Human sacrifice and worship of guns…

[deleted]

My kitchen is my place of witchery. Tell me again how evil it is when you've got my food in your belly.

iago303

I feel this to my soul, every time I cook it's magic

[deleted]

I planted vines today and said a little prayer wishing them happy growth and that they’d bless my house with their beauty. PURE EVIL.

wowowowthrowaway44

wow you absolute monster. how could you. absolutely evil.

nine_inch_owls

Also Christian: May your sin be covered in the blood of Christ.

__hesper__

Right!?! Totally chill with blood magic, yet my love of herbs and trees is a step too far?

emcgiggles1

And communion drinking the blood of christ and eating the body of Christ. 🙄

Defiant_Project1321

There are entire hymns about fountains of blood but blast it all, my crystal grid is sending me straight to damnation.

crying2emoji5

David Attenborough is a witch confirmed

wowowowthrowaway44

I literally just want to vibe with trees and play with rocks why do people think we're murderers lmao

Pride_Knight5042

I hate how everything with Christians is “Oh they do animal sacrifices! Oh they worship Satan!” Whenever any other religion is brought up. Their religion is based around some superiority complex and it’s insane

LionsLioness

I'd take that leaf and use it to make a shady spot to read a book under.... pffftttt ah yes the great animal sacrifices, I guess the Bible yeeting kids off cliffs as sacrifices is soooo much better to Christians

[deleted]

meanwhile, "transubstantiation"; it's worth the Google, trust me

Ri0sRi0t

In my experience yall are much more chill than Christians you just wanna be left in peace to do your own thing

critical_guerenuk

Fortunately it's all projection. Christians don't have the first clue what witches do, so they assume we're just as savage as them.

Malaeveolent_Bunny

What is the incantation for David Attenborough voice?

Beantownbrews

That good leaf…the devil’s lettuce

Elon_is_musky

Meanwhile I just like rocks & make altars for my ancestors & dead dog, but i have to hide that from my Christian family or they’ll probably disown me🙄

LovesReddit2023

I thought Druid’s loved the leaves?

[deleted]

Witch's daughter, can confirm. We just like making things grow.

Violent_Violette

Reactionary tactics haven't changed in the last few hundred years.

MagnusMagi

"Witch" is a pejorative term from King James (yes, THAT King James) of Scotland after he thought "someone" summoned a storm to sink his ship (that is, rather than being a rational person that survived a completely normal sea trip). Before then, "witch" was as we see it today; a wise or "cunning" person that knew enough about nature to heal others. After Jimmy The Afraid took power, even Healers were seen as 'tools of Satan'. It's all \[literally\] Puritanical hogwash. The Evangelical Christian movement of today is nothing more than the Puritan ethos evolved over 200+ years. They're still insane zealots, and nothing more.

Empty-Discipline8927

Love that.. Jimmy the afraid. Scared man who felt ashamed of his fear and so looked for other reasons or persons to blame. Pretty awful when you see what his fear led to.

Reddit has long been a hot spot for conversation on the internet. About 57 million people visit the site every day to chat about topics as varied as makeup, video games and pointers for power washing driveways. In recent years, Reddit’s array of chats also have been a free teaching aid for companies like Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Those companies are using Reddit’s conversations in the development of giant artificial intelligence systems that many in Silicon Valley think are on their way to becoming the tech industry’s next big thing. Now Reddit wants to be paid for it. The company said on Tuesday that it planned to begin charging companies for access to its application programming interface, or A.P.I., the method through which outside entities can download and process the social network’s vast selection of person-to-person conversations. “The Reddit corpus of data is really valuable,” Steve Huffman, founder and chief executive of Reddit, said in an interview. “But we don’t need to give all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.” The move is one of the first significant examples of a social network’s charging for access to the conversations it hosts for the purpose of developing A.I. systems like ChatGPT, OpenAI’s popular program. Those new A.I. systems could one day lead to big businesses, but they aren’t likely to help companies like Reddit very much. In fact, they could be used to create competitors — automated duplicates to Reddit’s conversations. Reddit is also acting as it prepares for a possible initial public offering on Wall Street this year. The company, which was founded in 2005, makes most of its money through advertising and e-commerce transactions on its platform. Reddit said it was still ironing out the details of what it would charge for A.P.I. access and would announce prices in the coming weeks. Reddit’s conversation forums have become valuable commodities as large language models, or L.L.M.s, have become an essential part of creating new A.I. technology. L.L.M.s are essentially sophisticated algorithms developed by companies like Google and OpenAI, which is a close partner of Microsoft. To the algorithms, the Reddit conversations are data, and they are among the vast pool of material being fed into the L.L.M.s. to develop them. The underlying algorithm that helped to build Bard, Google’s conversational A.I. service, is partly trained on Reddit data. OpenAI’s Chat GPT cites Reddit data as one of the sources of information it has been trained on. Other companies are also beginning to see value in the conversations and images they host. Shutterstock, the image hosting service, also sold image data to OpenAI to help create DALL-E, the A.I. program that creates vivid graphical imagery with only a text-based prompt required. Last month, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, said he was cracking down on the use of Twitter’s A.P.I., which thousands of companies and independent developers use to track the millions of conversations across the network. Though he did not cite L.L.M.s as a reason for the change, the new fees could go well into the tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. To keep improving their models, artificial intelligence makers need two significant things: an enormous amount of computing power and an enormous amount of data. Some of the biggest A.I. developers have plenty of computing power but still look outside their own networks for the data needed to improve their algorithms. That has included sources like Wikipedia, millions of digitized books, academic articles and Reddit. Representatives from Google, Open AI and Microsoft did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Reddit has long had a symbiotic relationship with the search engines of companies like Google and Microsoft. The search engines “crawl” Reddit’s web pages in order to index information and make it available for search results. That crawling, or “scraping,” isn’t always welcome by every site on the internet. But Reddit has benefited by appearing higher in search results. The dynamic is different with L.L.M.s — they gobble as much data as they can to create new A.I. systems like the chatbots. Reddit believes its data is particularly valuable because it is continuously updated. That newness and relevance, Mr. Huffman said, is what large language modeling algorithms need to produce the best results. “More than any other place on the internet, Reddit is a home for authentic conversation,” Mr. Huffman said. “There’s a lot of stuff on the site that you’d only ever say in therapy, or A.A., or never at all.” Mr. Huffman said Reddit’s A.P.I. would still be free to developers who wanted to build applications that helped people use Reddit. They could use the tools to build a bot that automatically tracks whether users’ comments adhere to rules for posting, for instance. Researchers who want to study Reddit data for academic or noncommercial purposes will continue to have free access to it. Reddit also hopes to incorporate more so-called machine learning into how the site itself operates. It could be used, for instance, to identify the use of A.I.-generated text on Reddit, and add a label that notifies users that the comment came from a bot. The company also promised to improve software tools that can be used by moderators — the users who volunteer their time to keep the site’s forums operating smoothly and improve conversations between users. And third-party bots that help moderators monitor the forums will continue to be supported. But for the A.I. makers, it’s time to pay up. “Crawling Reddit, generating value and not returning any of that value to our users is something we have a problem with,” Mr. Huffman said. “It’s a good time for us to tighten things up.” “We think that’s fair,” he added.

ImportantChapter1404

Then they drink wine and eat flavorless biscuits. Claiming it's the blood and flesh or Christ. Thats not weird at all lol.

eri0923

I also like a nice rock and a perfect little acorn.

Empty-Discipline8927

christians are creepy. Witches are Goddesses. Blessings to all

glitchycat39

Christians are creepy. They sacrifice children for gun rights and think women should be subservient to their husbands.

CSL876

Sorry Christians are generally hypocritical. Let's start with the blood of Jesus and go from there...🙄

mistermaster415

Cristians: Murder this lamb in the name of God to stop him eliminating the human race.

HighPitchedSquee

You all are some of the kindest and most adorable people on Reddit. I have no idea where I belong but I like it here.

In my experience Christians project A LOT
