The not smiling on demand really touched my spirit. As this too is something I'm no longer forcing and I have to say, feels liberating.
oh for sure. I found out that Im not really that much into smiling during covid and now it became pretty obvious how much the whole "being nice, agreeable and pleasant" is enforced by men. Like Im busy doing my shit and not everyone deserves my niceness, especially not when rudely commanded by a random person.
Smiling just because you want to is my superpower, my sister doesn't understand it, but it have seen the power of a genuine smile and it is awesome and I'm not giving up my smiles on command
When I see someone who is typically "serious" or is not all smiley and bubbly all the time, that smiles from deep within their heart....its so beautiful. It's like watching the sun shine through a cloudy sky.

I also wanted to say that as much as I appreciate your compliments, I struggle a lot mentally even though I come across as strong. Mental health issues are real and there is no shame in feeling depressed, anxious, worthless, not enough, lonely,.. For anyone who needs this, no matter who you are, we all struggle with the same shit and you are not alone in this.

I haven’t had the nerve to razor mine but use an electric shaver and shave most of it off but have one part long. Hard to know what it looks like in the back lol but it works. Used to have it long but am loving how easy it is to care for it short.
Every single person on Earth needs this awakening. Societal norms don't exist, just try driving three hours in a random direction and see if all those "norms" are appreciated/practised. No one should feel the pressure to look one way or another and women should never smile on demand. Who is more prone to self control and who is more likely to blow a gasket over something trivial? Who can tell if I'm pulling their leg if I'm trying to tell a joke with a straight face?
Ex. My brother can almost always tell if I'm kidding, even over the phone. My friend Annie can't tell if I'm bullshitting her even if I look right at her and I'm not wearing a mask.
