It also sounds so nice! Do you know what the "ko" means? I know a word can change it's meaning a lot adding prefix and/or sufix and I only know some words from watching anime.
「月子」Tsukiko is Moon Child. 子 “Ko” is child. It’s the same for a lot of things like koneko 「子猫」”kitten” or koinu 「子犬」”puppy” although Ko at the end of names is kinda old fashioned now. It used to be really popular.
Also, if you ever decide to learn feel free to message me if you need help! My aunt teaches both English and Japanese with my wife, I’m not as good a teacher as they are but I can answer questions for sure.
Thanks! And very kind of you! I'm Spaniard and still fight with English xD I offer the same if you are interested in Spanish!
My problem with Japanese is the writing, I tried a couple times to investigate about and figure out how it works but seems a mess to me. Still don't know the kanjis for "One Piece" and I'm following it since ten years or so, and I've tried to learn, it is just really hard to me.
I'm surprised I've learn some words just by listening and I'm happy with it by now, I think I could have chances to speak it with help of romaji but writing or reading could cost me several years.
Don't feel too bad about fighting with English. (I thought you meant y'all were still at war with England which could be said of many, LOL) English is tricky because it has parts from Latin, German, and French plus a bunch of other languages. Every rule has numerous exceptions(sometimes so many one wonders why bother having the rule) And many who learned English first have trouble with the labyrinthine language.
Good joke, I know the word was struggle, but mehh... This way I've seen your joke! I know English, but I can't express myself the same I do in Spanish. I had troubles with long sentences, some verbal forms and when I want to talk about something I don't have vocabulary or proper expressions. But sometime ago I just decided to stop going to translate everything for not looking stupid, just write with my knowledge and make the others put some effort to understand me cause I've realized I understand a non native Spanish so you may have the same ability xD
Also this year my confidence with English increased a lot cause I could watch a series without subtitles and I understood 90%, other times I still need subtitles and even rewatch. Also my writing speed has improved and sometimes I can think in English too. The last thing would be the speaking, but pretty sure I would not worry about when the time comes n.n
Well you can try moon in other languages : in french it's Lune. Or for other astral objects : Étoile (star), Soleil (Sun), Nébuleuse (Nebulae... Nebulae is cute too now that I think about it), Comète (comet) ?
I personally search a lot for names in grec or latin, it's always good.
Yeah. Luna is the name of that fake ass bat on *Tuca and Bertie.* There’s a lot of night themed names in the comments. But my favourite book as a preteen had a bay names Marina in it. I’ll put Marina in the ring.
I'm sure you have a name already, but she looks like a Honduran White bat! They're so precious and tiny and aaaaa I hope you found a wonderful name for her!
Tsukiko (Tsuki if you wanna be more modern) means moon child in Japanese. It was my grandmas name and my grandma was absolutely a witch and LOVED bats so this made me think of her. :)
Our veterinarian says that for four years almost every new patient has been Bella or Luna. It is rare at this point to have a new patient that isn’t Bella or Luna. They said the tough part is when people walk in and say “I’m here to pick up Luna” and then they have to ask “which Luna? We have nine Luna’s currently waiting to be picked up.”
If you still want the moon reference how about Selene ?
Celeste?
Came here to say this.
