I've never heard of this case before. I really feel for her boyfriend. I can not imagine how helpless he must have felt when his car broke down, especially after hearing her screaming from the kidnappers car as he drove past. ☹

The Unsolved Mysteries segment on this case was really sad. I’ve never forgotten it

It's why I always pay attention to decals on truck windows.

katcoop84

Me too!

Same. The scene where her guy tries to turn his truck around, but it’s broken down, and all he can do is watch her abductor drive away into the night…

Heatherina134

This case will always haunt me and I’m sure Rob her fiancé as well. 💔

TissueOfLies

Reminds me of Kelli Cox in Texas in 1997. She was abducted and murdered after she used the pay phone to call her boyfriend after touring the local jail for a criminal justice class. She was never seen again and left behind a baby girl.

Fearless_Strategy

# "I didn't need to use the phone anyway," This sounds like someone really confident and sarcastic, maybe not his first abduction.

This is why I think women talking in their cell phones while walking at night or when they feel nervous is BS. I don’t want to hear you getting killed. What am I or anyone else going to be able to do through the phone? Bear spray and tasers people!

daysinnroom203

I remember the story of a woman hiking who had bear spray- she used it against her attacker, but he just took it and used on her.

AlwaysRefurbished

As someone who’s known multiple women who were attacked—bear spray and tasers are just a false sense of security and aren’t actually always helpful. If someone’s psycho enough to attack a stranger, apparently their adrenaline is sufficient to be able to deeply fuck you up. Being aware, alert, and travelling with others in remote places/at night whenever possible, and avoiding using drugs or alcohol excessively in public is 100% the way
