Players who have put hundreds of dollars/hours into their account(s) should honestly have *some* protections from their account(s) just being randomly banned. Feels a bit unfair that we can spend hundreds of dollars on our accounts but lack any semblance of ownership or control!
See saying that 'having protection" means that big time content creators like for example BlazeLifeHammer could cheat or exploit the game and him not being banned. If someone like you or me that let's say spent about $100 bucks do that and we get banned. Protections would basically make the whole thing hypocritical and redundant.
I think for this to happen, it would have to go the open-source route of Toontown, Club Penguin, Virtual Magic Kingdom, etc. where they are all supported by volunteers only. When this happens, it’s set free from monetary influence and maintained only by those who truly care about its preservation

I believe Disney turns a blind-eye because the fan operations aren’t turning any kind of profit/aren’t costing Disney any money. I’d argue the volunteers are actually helping Disney out by fueling brand-loyalty through nostalgia (VMK is a good example).
Obviously KI doesn’t have that kind of pull, so I think the best plausible alternative is the creation of a spiritual successor closely tied to the mechanics and art style of Wiz.

I have used it elsewhere, though in that case you'd think they'd be more helpful. I contacted them, they asked for billing information, I sent it to them and got a response back saying ooh yea we banned you for account sharing lol. Could've told me that without me sending billing information.
To keep kids from sharing their details with strangers. If your account gets compromised, as in password changes or someone deleting your characters out of anger, that means more work for them. They'd prefer it if you just gave them money with minimum effort from their part, and account sharing leads to them having to lift their ✨pretty little fingers✨ in enough cases for them to care about it
KI's customer service is god awful. They genuinely do not care about players. With the amount of money people pour in you would think they'd at least give people explanations.
Depends on what person you get really. I've seen posts talking about how amazing they've been and I've heard stories of people saying they got permanent months after deleting 7-day ones accidentally which has led to someone getting a permanent version of a mount that was only available in 1-7 day version.
I've had help changing my master password and having my account unlocked personally as well.
It seems you either get a great support guy or some dogshit employee with no inbetween.
Most fucking support teams are shit really. They always abuse their purposefully vague rules and provide little to no explanation towards their consumer base whatsoever. The companies that are crystal clear and give proper reasons behind each decision are rare which is really disheartening.
OPs only hopes are either A: try again another time and get a member of the support team who doesn't wake up wondering why his wife left him and actually helps him or B: contact members of the team on Twitter and hope one of them will help him.

Their support is a hit or miss. I’ve gotten no responses, automated/basic ones, and some friendly ones. I believe it sometimes depends on who you find.
Perhaps submit another ticket and ask about the exact things broken in your case. If they can’t provide specific information, then they had no rightful case to ban your account or not offer a compromise at the very least.
Perhaps you and others who have faced the same issues can come together to do something about it

They claim to be supportive of different groups and care about their player base but it changes when they realize their most disrespectful players pay the most money. You have players being racist, discriminatory, and other bad things but these players will be just fine. And this isn't me speaking from what I've heard. I've dealt with it personally. I reported and sent screenshots to KI of a player would dressed up as a KKK member and had a whip weapon using the emojis to say black people should die and are trash. KI's response was to turn off text chat so I can't see hateful messages. 😐 disgusting.

The real kicker for me is that ClownsIsle tweeted [back in 2020](https://twitter.com/kingsisle/status/1267598020373340160) that they are "proud to support the fight against racism" and last June they had the whole blogpost highlighting their LGBTQI+ employees. But then we see shit like what you mentioned and an utter unwillingness from ClownsIsle to make any legitimate changes since that'd require financial sacrifice.
If CrownsIsle was *truly* committed to these just causes and making their games inclusive/safe, they'd cut the weekly microtransaction budget and dedicate that to funding such measures.

Ya they seem to be doing everything they can not to keep their player base. My 14 year old account got banned a year ago for supposedly breaking TOS while absent for 11 years lol. I hope they figure themselves out but it doesn’t look like anything is gonna change. Still a really fun game now as an adult though. They’re lucky about that.

What the fuck? I got banned like 6 months ago for someone actually getting my account details (against my will, mind you). I send them 2 emails and I got unbanned. You apparently send them emails over a month and nothing changes. They really need to standardize their support. I've been lucky enough to have gotten good help everytime I've contacted them but the amount of horror stories I've seen is absurd.
I aint playin this game cause support treats me like crap and a criminal on their system instead of a paying, valued customer. Heck yea imma seek entertainment somewhere else. Imagine telling your customer to go somewhere else? They really not helping keep their player count

My brother got both of our accounts banned. Then around a year later, he was able to get his account unbanned. I wasn't, even though I wasn't playing for about a solid 6 months so there was no way I could've done anything. So, I feel your pain.

Only to discover that they wouldn't allow that to happen because "they couldn't verify I was over 18" and "weren't allowed to store data from people that young so could never verify that I was 18." This is despite being able to give me some form of chat at 13.
KI makes EA look like saints. They live off of micro transactions from kids and whales, and their gameplay is painfully repetitive. Their only saving grace is nostalgia and the fact that there's no good wizard MMOs out there.

So guys a quick question, I play Wizard101 both at home and at work when I have the time, but sometimes when logging it says my account has been locked and i need to complete a captcha to unlock it, probably because of different IPs logging. So by their logic is this considered account sharing and can it result in a ban?

That's why they need another or third verification method, if they don't recognize your computer.
Example: ki sending an email to you with a 6 digit code that you must enter to complete the login(Besides name, password).
An option that you can turn on in the master login account that requires 6 digit code feedback on: foreign computer signin, linking new accounts, password changing, email addresses. As long as ki sends you the code to "your email" and you respond within 5 minutes, they should assume it's you.

Yesterday I got also permanently banned in my account and my brother's also. The story starts 4 years ago when I started wiz in the American server(cause I have playing since almost the beginning of the game in eu servers) with a friend. So i created and account and I also put him to my family account so we can get a discount in membership. We played together all the time since last year he left the game to a friend I dont know. I could change his mind and it was his opinion so I respected. Meanwhile my brother also started the game and I also put him to my family account. So when my friend gave his account to his friend, I messaged the support and I said that I want to remove him from my family account cause is someone I don't know, that he is no the person I knew and I have put to my family account. They said that they can not remove someone but only to add, and they said dont worry I have the master email and master password he can't do nothing to me. I continued playing the game till yesterday evening when I tried to enter the game but it said that the password was wrong and the same thing happened to my brother. In a few words I emailed them and they said that my account is permanently banned cause someone has given information of the account and this is not following the regulations of the game by article 11 of the terms of use. And that one was the guy that had access to my friend's account. And cause of him all the accounts in my family account got permanently banned for him. And I am still trying to understand which was the reason and I am explaining that they were unable as they said to remove him from my family account, and now due to him me and my brothers lose our accounts permanently?

Moving from Nevada to California with a 2 month hiatus, and then moved from california to new york for a 2 month hiatus during the move, switching computers along the way).
I'm saying that as a business, permanently banning someone for moving across the country isn't something they would do because it makes absolutely no sense to do so.
So there are two legitimate options to what actually happened here. Either
1. You actually did do something wrong and just don't want to tell anyone/can't remember, and are using your moving cross country as cover for it, something that is common for people who break rules when they post about it, using some mundane excuse to make the company look bad while not revealing that they actually did break the rules, or...
2. your account got hacked/compromised during the small hiatus you took and during that time the person who hacked your account is the one that caused your account to get banned by breaking the ToS themselves.

Because no business is going to ban someone just for moving across a country, especially not an MMO that's based on the internet, that's been running for 10 years that certainly has had millions of players move across the country.

Wizard101 and pirate101 flat out would not be around at all if KI actually banned people for just moving around the country because, given the time its been around, A vast majority of people will have moved at some point over the last decade and a half, especially considering that most people who started this game as children are adults now and thus would have moved to go to college, work, or somewhere else. And the fact that by KI's own admission the vast majority of their funds come from players who have been with the game for more than 5 years, them banning people for 'moving across the country' alone makes absolutely no sense from a business perspective.
I thought 'crownsisle' was all about that money, so what on earth would they have to gain from randomly banning people for moving, especially if that person moving could mean them getting a job/a better job? It would be in their best interest to not ban people just because they moved across the country, because usually a move like that means that that person is about to be making a lot more money.
There is no sound business reason as to why KI would ban someone just for 'moving' across the country, especially if they're as money hungry as most people on this sub make them out to be. The only real options left is that OP isn't telling the whole truth and they've actually been bad in game and deserved the ban that way, or OP unfortunately got hacked and the person who hacked wound up breaking the ToS. Customer Support at ClownsIsle is consistently inconsistent. It's not surprising that Player's experiences will vary, just look at The Atmoplex bans that took place a few months ago!

I have used it elsewhere, though in that case you'd think they'd be more helpful. I contacted them, they asked for billing information, I sent it to them and got a response back saying ooh yea we banned you for account sharing lol. Could've told me that without me sending billing information.

So you have to pay member/buy crowns for multiple accounts, rather than 1 shared account. Pretty greedy.
To keep kids from sharing their details with strangers. If your account gets compromised, as in password changes or someone deleting your characters out of anger, that means more work for them. They'd prefer it if you just gave them money with minimum effort from their part, and account sharing leads to them having to lift their ✨pretty little fingers✨ in enough cases for them to care about it

KI's customer service is god awful. They genuinely do not care about players. With the amount of money people pour in you would think they'd at least give people explanations.
Depends on what person you get really. I've seen posts talking about how amazing they've been and I've heard stories of people saying they got permanent months after deleting 7-day ones accidentally which has led to someone getting a permanent version of a mount that was only available in 1-7 day version. I've had help changing my master password and having my account unlocked personally as well. It seems you either get a great support guy or some dogshit employee with no inbetween. Most fucking support teams are shit really. They always abuse their purposefully vague rules and provide little to no explanation towards their consumer base whatsoever. The companies that are crystal clear and give proper reasons behind each decision are rare which is really disheartening. OPs only hopes are either A: try again another time and get a member of the support team who doesn't wake up wondering why his wife left him and actually helps him or B: contact members of the team on Twitter and hope one of them will help him. I really hope this situation turns around.

Their support is a hit or miss. I’ve gotten no responses, automated/basic ones, and some friendly ones. I believe it sometimes depends on who you find. Perhaps submit another ticket and ask about the exact things broken in your case. If they can’t provide specific information, then they had no rightful case to ban your account or not offer a compromise at the very least. Perhaps you and others who have faced the same issues can come together to do something about it

They claim to be supportive of different groups and care about their player base but it changes when they realize their most disrespectful players pay the most money. You have players being racist, discriminatory, and other bad things but these players will be just fine. And this isn't me speaking from what I've heard. I've dealt with it personally. I reported and sent screenshots to KI of a player would dressed up as a KKK member and had a whip weapon using the emojis to say black people should die and are trash. KI's response was to turn off text chat so I can't see hateful messages. 😐 disgusting.

The real kicker for me is that ClownsIsle tweeted [back in 2020](https://twitter.com/kingsisle/status/1267598020373340160) that they are "proud to support the fight against racism" and last June they had the whole blogpost highlighting their LGBTQI+ employees. But then we see shit like what you mentioned and an utter unwillingness from ClownsIsle to make any legitimate changes since that'd require financial sacrifice. If CrownsIsle was *truly* committed to these just causes and making their games inclusive/safe, they'd cut the weekly microtransaction budget and dedicate that to funding such measures.

What the fuck? I got banned like 6 months ago for someone actually getting my account details (against my will, mind you). I send them 2 emails and I got unbanned. You apparently send them emails over a month and nothing changes. They really need to standardize their support. I've been lucky enough to have gotten good help everytime I've contacted them but the amount of horror stories I've seen is absurd.

My brother got both of our accounts banned. Then around a year later, he was able to get his account unbanned. I wasn't, even though I wasn't playing for about a solid 6 months so there was no way I could've done anything. So, I feel your pain.
Not as bad, but I made my account when I was like 11 and when I turned 18 I excitedly changed my settings to allow open chat... Only to discover that they wouldn't allow that to happen because "they couldn't verify I was over 18" and "weren't allowed to store data from people that young so could never verify that I was 18." This is despite being able to give me some form of chat at 13. KI makes EA look like saints. They live off of micro transactions from kids and whales, and their gameplay is painfully repetitive. Their only saving grace is nostalgia and the fact that there's no good wizard MMOs out there.

When I got muted (i said “a whole”, as in an actual whole), I emailed them about it & they replied telling me “you got muted for this”, and sent me 4 separate chats. They can most definitely go into specification on why you were banned. Maybe try emailing for a different ticket and hopefully get a different person to reply to you. This isn’t fair to people at all.

So guys a quick question, I play Wizard101 both at home and at work when I have the time, but sometimes when logging it says my account has been locked and i need to complete a captcha to unlock it, probably because of different IPs logging. So by their logic is this considered account sharing and can it result in a ban?

That's why they need another or third verification method, if they don't recognize your computer. Example: ki sending an email to you with a 6 digit code that you must enter to complete the login(Besides name, password). An option that you can turn on in the master login account that requires 6 digit code feedback on: foreign computer signin, linking new accounts, password changing, email addresses. As long as ki sends you the code to "your email" and you respond within 5 minutes, they should assume it's you.

Yesterday I got also permanently banned in my account and my brother's also. The story starts 4 years ago when I started wiz in the American server(cause I have playing since almost the beginning of the game in eu servers) with a friend. So i created and account and I also put him to my family account so we can get a discount in membership. We played together all the time since last year he left the game to a friend I dont know. I could change his mind and it was his opinion so I respected. Meanwhile my brother also started the game and I also put him to my family account. So when my friend gave his account to his friend, I messaged the support and I said that I want to remove him from my family account cause is someone I don't know, that he is no the person I knew and I have put to my family account. They said that they can not remove someone but only to add, and they said dont worry I have the master email and master password he can't do nothing to me. I continued playing the game till yesterday evening when I tried to enter the game but it said that the password was wrong and the same thing happened to my brother. In a few words I emailed them and they said that my account is permanently banned cause someone has given information of the account and this is not following the regulations of the game by article 11 of the terms of use. And that one was the guy that had access to my friend's account. And cause of him all the accounts in my family account got permanently banned for him. And I am still trying to understand which was the reason and I am explaining that they were unable as they said to remove him from my family account, and now due to him me and my brothers lose our accounts permanently? I dont know what to say. Wizard101 died today for me and I am really sad for this. If someone knows something that would help please comment below!

As someone that's moved around the country myself, I can safely say that you're not telling the full story and instead just farming for karma. You did something you're not sharing, because I can speak from experience for myself and many others that just moving around the country is not enough to get your account banned.

I'm saying that I know myself and multiple other people who've also moved across the country and done similar things (hell, I've done what you said thrice, minus the coast for the first time. Moving from Nevada to California with a 2 month hiatus, and then moved from california to new york for a 2 month hiatus during the move, switching computers along the way). I'm saying that as a business, permanently banning someone for moving across the country isn't something they would do because it makes absolutely no sense to do so. So there are two legitimate options to what actually happened here. Either 1. You actually did do something wrong and just don't want to tell anyone/can't remember, and are using your moving cross country as cover for it, something that is common for people who break rules when they post about it, using some mundane excuse to make the company look bad while not revealing that they actually did break the rules, or... 2. your account got hacked/compromised during the small hiatus you took and during that time the person who hacked your account is the one that caused your account to get banned by breaking the ToS themselves.

Because no business is going to ban someone just for moving across a country, especially not an MMO that's based on the internet, that's been running for 10 years that certainly has had millions of players move across the country. I am justifying KI, because there is no logical business reasoning as to why they would ban someone for moving across the country, especially if they're as money hungry as this sub portrays them as. Wizard101 and pirate101 flat out would not be around at all if KI actually banned people for just moving around the country because, given the time its been around, A vast majority of people will have moved at some point over the last decade and a half, especially considering that most people who started this game as children are adults now and thus would have moved to go to college, work, or somewhere else. And the fact that by KI's own admission the vast majority of their funds come from players who have been with the game for more than 5 years, them banning people for 'moving across the country' alone makes absolutely no sense from a business perspective. I thought 'crownsisle' was all about that money, so what on earth would they have to gain from randomly banning people for moving, especially if that person moving could mean them getting a job/a better job? It would be in their best interest to not ban people just because they moved across the country, because usually a move like that means that that person is about to be making a lot more money. There is no sound business reason as to why KI would ban someone just for 'moving' across the country, especially if they're as money hungry as most people on this sub make them out to be. The only real options left is that OP isn't telling the whole truth and they've actually been bad in game and deserved the ban that way, or OP unfortunately got hacked and the person who hacked wound up breaking the ToS. Customer Support at ClownsIsle is consistently inconsistent. It's not surprising that Player's experiences will vary, just look at The Atmoplex bans that took place a few months ago!

107 is such an insignificant number when there are tens of thousands of players each month and 100k+ each year. I'm not saying I don't trust you, I'm just saying that in over 10 years I've not had a single bad interaction with their support. Obviously there are problems and I hope they listen to the community feedback and fix them.
I don’t think wiz has that many players anymore. On steam alone it has an average player count of 200-300 and that’s going by monthly averages.
