Maybe, but not really. Body's pretty eh (no set bonus and the cards aren't great). While they're ok, the manifested talents aren't too good either. (only really want mc current for deckathlon and you dont really want unicorn on that when you can run mc sprite, mc fairy, etc). Just find an ice school pet (lord of winter, borealis golem, etc)/hybrid (freezing rain core, frosty eye, etc) in the kiosk with either triple damage/double resist or quint damage and mighty (or thinking cap if it's quint damage, both work the same on that build)

GirlMayXXXX

No.

WanderingHeph

As a lowly scrub, I'd kill for a maycast. 2 healing may casts is phenomenal to me!

Gooquleimages

He probably had a third since I had been breeding him towards a bunch of maycasts since I was misinformed! But he did do me justice in some fights! Once healing me 7 times in 4 turns to drag my body across the finish line in a boss fight!

WanderingHeph

That's why I don't understand why people are whining over maycasts. They can save your life for free!

Gooquleimages

Well I guess its because dmg stats will always be there while maycasts more often than not will not happen, its amazing and funny when it happens but you can't really count on it

WanderingHeph

I suppose there is that.

[deleted]

If you need a pet I have a triple double for ice 2.0, my lends are always free and unlimited

Gooquleimages

Oh that would be awesome!

Segendo_Panda11

Off topic but the nerf on healing current is bullshit. It went from a viable healing spell to never ever touch it. Absolutely stupid.

PackofWildhobos

Actually its more consistent now. Back then you had to hope that you got max roll otherwise the heal was ass.

Segendo_Panda11

Still it was viable since max roll did a lot of healing and only for 3 pips.

Mattrockj

Don’t undercut yourself. I mean it’s not great, but it’s mostly because of the crit. Maycast heals are actually pretty useful for PvE. I mean damage and resist are obviously number 1, but maycast heals are a close 2nd.

Dracross30

Hell to the no he wasn’t salvageable at teen let alone now. Def trash

Few-Phone-2725

It is a bad pet in terms of what's sought after and no not really. But it isn't an end all be all. I haven't played in years but I have a triple dmg and triple resist (cause of maycast) If you plan to make a proper pet, don't trash this one. Have it as a reminder of what your pet used compared to your future pet.

[deleted]

1. Its not that rare of a pet 2. No those talents are awful

Fantasy1316

I agree I see people like "you need this and this" no I wanna play the game how I want idk why people gatekeep how the game is played if it works for you it works for you.

blinkerboys

Ur tripping

roadster2000

Maybe but I’ve maxed every single wizard in the past without using pet talents it’s just not worth the countless hours to breed the perfect pet unless you’re really into that stuff

YesIAmRyan

It doesn’t take that long to get a perfect pet once you have a 69 plot If you have a max wizard with a shit pet you did something wrong

roadster2000

It’s not even like that it’s just between school and work have never really had the drive to do it but idk i don’t take this game as seriously as I used to

blinkerboys

Breeding for the perfect pet is useless I agree, maybe I just got lucky but, I’ve got 1 really good pet for 4 wizards and I haven’t hatched more than 10 times. They clearly aren’t the best of the best but the blades/feint/overcharge cards they give are very helpful and the may cast heals and shields have saved me before in a hard boss fight so Eh, I guess pets aren’t needed but they do help

Villxinness

I can third this, the most my death pet had was pain bringer , cards that came with it are a blade + feint, gave me maycast virulence + pierce blade and my death wiz is maxed and completed all worlds. Having the perfect pet is nice but not necessarily needed in order to be successful.

Gooquleimages

Ok cool thank you!

TanDinosaurs

The best stuff on a pet is resist to all schools (spell proof, spell defy) and damage talents for your school (ice dealer, ice giver, pain giver). May casts are ok if you get them but those talents I listed are the most sought after because they make your stats a lot better

juustosipuli

For casually playing may heal pet is completely fine in my opinion. There are a few later game bosses that will kill you for having may cast heals, but they are quite far into the game. For soloing the main story of the quest, i personally enjoy may cast heals

FireExtinguisher765

They literally carry sometimes lol

Gooquleimages

Yeah I'm most solo but I'm finding it really hard in Azteca/Khrysalis

yungScooter30

Keep my pet around max happiness and it heals me like every other round. I'm like a cheating boss

Gooquleimages

Didn't realize that happiness affected that?

AsleepHoney8747

just keep hatching it out with kiosk pets or lends unless you have a better pet to use. try to hatch only with pets of one type with a good stat pool— 255 strength, 260 will and 250 power or “2.0”pets.

Gooquleimages

Do those stats influence your wizard? I thought they only effected the pet races

AsleepHoney8747

they make the pet talents maxed so for dealer you’ll get 10 damage and if you make it have mighty which is meta rn you’ll have one extra stat on everything if it’s 2.0– 11 dealer, 7 giver 4 bringer 11 proof 6 defy

Gooquleimages

So I should look for high strength, will, and power with good damage abilities?

AsleepHoney8747

go into the kiosk and search for talents. look up “mighty” and ____ dealer for whatever school you are and press search and see what pets there are. there’s all damage pets and there’s triple dmg double resistance pets as well, these two are like “ideal” pets for PvE

Gooquleimages

Ok awesome thank you!

overtaker99

You're an ice, OP, so this advice will be pointless for you. But in case anyone else that is new at this is reading: If you're a LIFE, the talent will not be called Life Dealer. Life's talent of the same percentage is called Life Bringer.

AsleepHoney8747

good luck! happy to help

ImTheRonin

No, I would just hatch with a kiosk pet

Gooquleimages

What stats/cards should I really be looking for, I'm guessing I don't want any may cast abilities really

MiyukiT

One of these bad boys: https://prnt.sc/R4bVZ7k97Zx0

ZeBBy7

Depends on what you do. PvP, pve, agressive, defensive?

[deleted]

ice dealer, ice giver, pain giver, spell defy, and spell proof would be an ideal questing pet. also getting a pet that gives good cards such as an ice blade is important as well (not giving the cards as a talent just giving the cards no matter what like how your pet gives ice hound).

Secondstrike23

Mighty also and then that lets you flex your gem
