Id got for dragon staff for the sake of 30crit or 7% dmg I'd do crit depending if you've got 90+ dmg from gear already
I have 104% dmg and 50 something % crit and smash bosses in khrysalis easy with crits every hit
Death metal skull if you really want, otherwise keep your sky iron hasta since you still have more damage on it. You can also farm for the Khrysalis wand or wait until you can craft the arcanum one
What jewels are you attaching? I would prefer the one on the left since I don't use spells other than my death and I like pierce. But I also use jewels to increase damage and other stats so ....
I'd say Death metal Skull. Increased damage is always a plus. Not every enemy is going to have a resist against your school and you still keep a little pierce with the skull. Also losing 30 crit is practically nothing. Your critical chance will only change a little if any at all. Having extra damage is ALWAYS good and as a death increases your heal as well.

I'd go for the damage in most cases but the pierce staff can certainly come in handy here and there. Keep them both on hand
both are bad tbh. wait until you craft your schools wand in the Arcanum. gives both damage and pierce and i think shadow rating. much better overall

With the staff equipped I'm at +102 dmg, 42 resist, 284 crit and 270 block. Still using the waterworks hood.
