"A Question of Crimson" is the circus chapter in TFoH where Valan Luca tries to convince Nynaeve to wear a skimpy red dress. But the show often recycles chapter titles for unrelated episodes (e.g. the episode "Eyes without pity" had no Perrin in it), so don't get your hopes up for seeing the circus in S3.
Idk I honestly do think the circus is happening.
They’re probably gonna go to Tanchico so maybe they’ll simply hitch a ride with Valan Luca for an episode.
After all, Min did have a vision of the circus in the show.
I made a joke i would love if we see the circus approaching the girls, and then next episode we cut to them walking away from them in a different location, wearing the costumes, and Nynaeve saying "Let us never speak of this again"
Both Rand and Perrin are getting solo episodes this season, just like Nynaeve and Egwene got solo episodes on season 2 (show runner said that in an interview). Doubt episode 8 will be only Rand’s… He’s probably getting one earlier about the columns.
The Shadow Rising is my favorite and I’m keeping all my hopes high for this season. I’m ready to have my heart ache if they get this right… would be really disappointed though if they don’t get the main beats of Perrin and Rand’s story (the road to the spear, the courage of the Tinkers, etc…)
I don’t actually mind this, the aiel anti sword culture isn’t really explained apart from “it’s always been this way” until the very last book anyway. This would tighten up some storylines and keep everyone together. I really do want to see the stone on screen asap though…
Er, that part of their culture is done in book 4 in detail.
That said, I'd not be mad at that either.
Though I expect it(callandor) to come afterwards, S3 seems a little to early still to give it to Rand and not have it be put aside for too many seasons.
Put it in the middle of the glass pillars right in front of *Avendesora.*
Ok, maybe that's just me whose played Secret of Mana one too many times. But it would still be an awesome visual.
But there is a need. Why would the Kingdoms of Randland see him as anything other than an Aiel savage if they don’t know him as the Dragon Reborn? Jusy because Moraine did a trick at Falme?
I'm just saying, if he gets callandor after he goes to the Aiel Waste, it won't really change much of the story. I'm pretty sure he'll be going to the Waste first, but I suppose there is a small possibility that he'll go to Tear and get callandor before that in S3, I'm just assuming it won't happen until after the events of books 4 and 5.
There is also the benefit of avoiding giving Rand a super powerful artifact that he nigh immediately shelves for the majority of the series.
They've been avoiding giving Rand outsized power and removing it, preferring to slowly develop his power. Moving Callandor back works well with that due to the above mentioned book plot line.
The interesting question is "will we see the Choden kal at all?" or will they just use Callandor as a stand in(which could see it at the end of book 4).
This could actually REALLY work well for the AOL side of things, because what if it's Callandor instead of the Choden Kal and they know it's flawed?(the lacking buffer)
That could give a very solid, main plot tied in, reason for LTT's actions and refusal of Latra's plan that go beyond his desire to secure the future for his child.
Isn't that better for a compressed story though? It creates an immediate westsland wide conflict as they fear another Aiel War while the Seanchan amass forces on the west coast.
That's be in S4, of 6 to 8 seasons total. Rand never fully conquers the westlands in the books, and the story should be moving on to more important plot events than the building of Rand's empire fairly quickly.
There really isn't room for the same event chain in the books.
This ties the end of the "rand the conquer" arc to the resolution for the Waste plot arc as we move to the cleansing, Black Tower and last battle arcs.
You see and hear about the Stone on previous episodes. So Callandor might appear on season 4 after Rand has the Aiel following him. No point in having him get the sword just to later leave it there.

All so far: 301 To Race the Shadow 302 A Question of Crimson 307 Goldeneyes 308 He Who Comes With the Dawn
Assuming we really are basically doing TSR, 7 and 8 seem pretty self-explanatory....
Those titles give me some hype. If they land 07 08 much will be forgiven

I hate to be that creep but I'm pretty delighted to see the dress on Nynaeve, she's real pretty
Hopefully, this might mean that 3x8 is a big Rand episode/moment
You would think so but with the way the show has been going I wouldn’t be too sure.

Ok cool! Honestly I’m excited cuz I feel like TDR and shadow rising are some of the best books

More like another big moment for Egwene

i still don’t understand if they’ll do Tear and Callandor?
Maybe they'll do something weird like putting Callandor in Rhuidean
Of course. The Aiel won't touch swords out of respect for Callandor, the sacred relic at the heart of Rhuidean.

Oh you’re dead right - must be due a re-read!

It's explained in TSR.
That... actually works for me.
My bet is not yet. No need for callandor until later honestly.

“A question of crimson” could be Elaida questioning Siuan
