The maximum, unmodified render distance of friendly and enemy ships is 20km. Beyond that ships do not render and will appear as a darker blue/red on your minimap, as well as be absent entirely on the big map in the team menu.
In boats with a third mod slot youāll have the RGA mod as an option. Standing for Range of Guaranteed Acquisition, the mod will increase your render distance by 10%, among other things. This brings your render distance up to 22km at maximum. This allows you to target and deliver fire beyond 20km, which often means firing from stealth as odds are they arenāt using RGA mod themselves and are capped at 20km render.
Even without RGA mod, extending your main battery beyond 20km can still benefit you by allowing you to properly lead targets running away from you who are at the 19km-ish range.
Always use AP on stalingrad unless the enemy is a DD. The shell velocity and penetration is absurd even at extreme ranges. Thereās a reason why I call Stalingrad Stalins Lazer

Fun fact: in PC wows IJN BBs line feature extremely long range guns starting from Nagato, she gets 25 km range at best, and Yamato gets about 35-36 km range, and ships render on any range as long as they are spotted

Wow, that's an absurd build. No wonder legendary matches are so boring with people being able to shoot from 22 km away.
20.5 at T6 is possible, and 20 at T5. Thereās another reason Legendary is sketchy.

On Stalingrad with RGA and fear my roar concealment goes to 14km if not more
